A Day To Remember Chapter 38

I BOUGHT alcohol, cotton wool, and band-aids at the store next to the court. I treated Dylan on the stage of this court. Jr., on the other hand, is a little far from us. He wipes the wound on his eyebrow with a good morning towel and presses. I also noticed that he was staring straight at us.

“Your ex is strong, isn't it? The two worked together but he knocked them down.” I pressed the cotton with alcohol on his eyebrow. "Hey, just chill and don't pile your pressing the wound."

“I'm not his ex. One more and I will pour this alcohol on your head.” He smiled and suddenly kissed me on the lips. "If he's strong, why did you help him?" I asked annoyingly.

"We're on a team. I just helped him when the other one should have hit him while turning his back."

"So you're playing superhero like that?"

“Don't be angry, I was also insulted during those games. Always intentional foul was done to me. Your ex just got angry first.” I slapped the alcohol bottle a little light on his head.

"I told you he's not my ex."

“Ok-ok. But why don't you want to talk to him?”

"You're a decision-maker, are you me?" Annoyed, I said then stood up while carrying a band-aid and went to Jr.'s place.

"Oh!" I handed him the band-aid. "Put it on your wound." He took the band-aid so I turned around.

"Mia ----" I turned around when he called me. "Can we talk?"

I took a deep breath before answering.

"Tonight at the bubble tea shop." He nodded and smiled so I went back to Dylan.

"Let's eat and I'm hungry," I told him and he stood up as well so we walked towards the motor which was parked near Jr.'s seat.

"We'll go ahead bro," Dylan said to Jr.

"Take care and thank you again," Jr. replied that you really thought they were close while saying goodbye.

Dylan had already started the motor so we left and went to the nearest food store. He also ordered while I was waiting for him. When he returned, he brought some food and laid it in front of me.

I just stared at the food as I stabbed them. I really have no appetite and I'm not hungry. The truth is I just wanted to leave the court earlier.

"You are free to speak," he said while eating a large slice of pork. I took a deep breath and then put down the spoon and fork.

"Jr. wanted to talk to me and I said tonight." I watched his reaction but he just shrugged and ate again. "Hey, you didn't even say or react?" I ask.

"What can I say, I'm the one who suggested it to you, right?"

"Even though, you should still have a reaction."

“When I told you not to come, you wouldn’t come? If I say ok go, won’t you get angry because I’m pushing you?”

I glared at him and then pushed him to sit up.

“Don't think I'm not jealous or not going to get jealous. I love you and it's normal for me to be jealous because he's your ex ----- ” He avoids the fact that I'm going to stone him with a spoon. “--- special friend. But you know it looks Jr his name, right?” he said then sighed.

"Yes,"

"He looks nice and knows what his position is." I just sighed again. Because the truth is I don't know if I'm really ready. I don’t know what to say. If I have to explain something to him or I will criticize him. What we should talk about or if we have anything else to talk about.

Dylan stood up and then came up to me and put his arm around me. “But the truth is, I really trust you a lot. I know you know what you're doing or you're just going to do. Even if you are sometimes confused by the decision, you still know what is good and will really make you happy.”

"Are you saying that I don't know how to decide?"

"Sometimes, don't complain because we know what I'm saying is true that sometimes you'll be easy to fool," he said as he rubbed my shoulder and laughed. "I don't think it's wrong for you to talk to him because you have a lot to explain to him," he added.

"Wow, I am, while he's the one who left, aren't I?"

"But he said goodbye to you." I looked at him badly but he just made fun of me. "You're the only one who strayed and didn't wait."

"Be thankful, because I wouldn't be yours if I stayed sober."

“Then, thank you. But you still have to explain to him.”

"Whose side are you really on?"

“You, because you are my girlfriend. But the truth is I am just guiding you so that you can have an explanation for him.”

I don't know if his blocking helps me or if I'm even more confused. I didn't know if I should talk to Jr.

"Unless you're confused because you still love him." I gasped again.

When it comes to love I know it’s not gone. Especially when I saw him I felt refreshed by all the memories the two of us had when we were still together.

But fuck, am I going to exchange this asshole who is next to me and has done nothing but to understand me. Always by my side even when I am stunned by the decision and never miss to remind me.

"Dylan," I called to him.

"What?"

"I love you, you know that." He put his mouth to my ear.

“I know, and I love you more. I'm fine, and don't worry,” he said then looked at me and winked at me.

Even if we argue always, I know he won’t leave me. Most of all, will I leave the person who never left me and lifted me up from pain and loneliness. The person who came when I was in trouble but still stayed by my side.

The person who came at the right time. When no one is with me.
