A Night With My CEO Chapter 24

I slapped my two cheeks before entering the elevator. Aren't we lovers? So, everything will be smooth. I feel countless flowers swirling around me as I walk. With the sheer size of my smile, it was nice to paint my face. I greeted my coworkers with a smile that never left my lips.

As I sat in front of the table, my gaze was drawn to Adams' door, which was still shut at the moment. Is he on his way yet? Despite the fact that I had just sat down, I stood up and began walking towards it. I hadn't caught up with him by the morning after what we did last night. He didn't even wait for me to wake up, which irritated me.

I knocked and waited for him to open the door. Everyone was staring at me, presumably wondering why I was standing in front of his door when he hadn't called me. My feet and toes are agitated. When the door swung open, I was startled because his wrinkled face vanished. His face was grim, so I waved first, but his expression remained unchanged.

“Why?” he asked, my face flushed. That's simply one word that conveys the depth of significance to me. I couldn't say anything and had lost my smile. Is it just me, or did everything that occurred to us last night come as a surprise? He sighed and stroked his hair with his fingertips.

My hand was now on my back, and I started playing with my finger on the back. I grabbed them to make them remember not to be wounded by what he was doing. I raised my head and smiled at him once again.

“Sir, do you have any free time later tonight?” I diverted my gaze from him, not wanting him to see my uneasiness when I asked him questions. With the intensity of my beating, I could tell he could hear the rattling. When he didn't respond, I explained what I was saying. “If you don't do anything, maybe you want us to have dinner?”

I didn't have an option but to get to know him better. Learn all there is to know about him and everything else there is to know about him, and perhaps he will do the same for me. But my grin vanished, and my eyes widened as a result of his response to me.

“Is that all you've got to say? I can't, I have something to do,” he said as he turned away from me, shut the door, and left me speechless. I'm uncertain whether my coworkers heard what we were talking about, but I know they're far away and haven't heard anything.

I was going to leave because what he did had injured me, but the door opened again, and I fainted staring at him. Likewise, I would have just continued walking if he hadn't dragged me inside. As he closed the door, it crashed shut.

“Haaa!” He groaned as if dissatisfied with what was going on, yet he also turned to face me, his eyes still furious. He took my hand in his and folded it in his. “We can't do it right now because we have a family dinner. I'll call you over when I have time.” He embraced me again and murmured. “Don't look at me like that. I'm restraint myself since I want to concentrate on business and date you in lovely places. Not simply in the workplace.”

Because of what he said, my cheeks flushed instantly. Is this happening to the two of us? What if both of us get hurt? But I'll never forget what he did to that woman last night. I feigned to smell that woman's perfume and pulled him away from me slightly.

“Your room stinks of that woman's perfume.”

He glanced around as if he could see the fragrance filling the air. His eyes narrowed as he turned to face me as if he was wary of me.

“Are you jealous?” he questioned directly, encircling my body with his arms, one of his legs now amid mine.

“J-jealous … What ?!” I burst out laughing at his query. I pushed harder on him and, thankfully, I was able to get rid of him. I went outside after opening the door. I returned to my seat, holding my face as I bowed. Is this how jealousy truly feels?

Adams did not call me even after our time to work had ended; he seemed to be busy from now on. I had no idea what time it was or when it was time, he will go home. Before rising on my swivel chair, I type him a message.

“I'm going home, see you. (〃 ゚ 3 ゚ 〃)”—I put an emoticon on it as if to kiss him so that even then I can show that I am ready to gamble for him.

I got up and wanted to go with Kathryn because it appeared they were going out for a drink today. I was with them as we went out, talking as the door of Adams' office opened, and he even shouted:

“Wait.”

At the same moment, our gazes were drawn to him as he moved closer to us. I locked my gaze on him as he grimaced. When he drew near to us, my eyes widened as a result of his abrupt stroke on my waist, and he kissed my lips as they all looked on. He not only kissed me, but he also placed his tongue in my lips, as if he had forgotten, we were being watched.

“MmmHh.” The growl coming from my mouth makes me want to be devoured by the dirt. I wanted to surprise myself since I didn't appear ashamed that so many people were observing us.

I shoved him because I was short of breath after his kiss. I didn't want to lift my face, so I buried it in his chest, but as he spoke, he simply added to my humiliation on my body.

“Kathryn, make sure she can come home without a scar or even a mosquito bite because when that happens you all have nothing to go back to work, alright?” He reached over me and caressed my hair. “I know every part of this woman's body, so I'll know right away if something is wrong.”

He said I pinched him as a result of the previous incident. Oh my goodness. How am I going to deal with these people now?
