I know it's not a coincidence that he came here because as soon as he walked in, I could see his eyes were searching for something. I just stood there with his gaze on me, and as our glances connected, I knew he was going to try to corrupt my character once more. I couldn't move any of my fingers or other parts of my body. Sweat condensed on my neck and brow till he approached in front of me.
“I didn't realize your new was my cousin. Look at the fate again,” he said with a smile, hoping no one would suspect him. I need someone to approach me since I won't be able to move if no one assists me. I'm sure he's caught the attention of a few folks.
“Hi, Mr. Derek! I apologize for not seeing you. I'm doing something,” Kathryn said from behind me as if a thorn had been plucked from my side. She wrapped her arm around my shoulder and glanced at me, and I know she saw my horrified expression. She shifted her gaze between me and Derek.
“Excuse me, are you talking about something important?” she inquired, without looking at Derek. She grasped my frigid hand and yanked it away as if she was forcing me to answer. From Kathryn's perspective, I know Derek's name isn't taken seriously here. That would be preferable since he could just abuse his status here.
“Oh, no. I merely asked her where my cousin was, but she doesn't seem to like my cousin's name.” He even waved his hand and giggled lightly as he denied it. But this man was a brilliant actor because he persuaded Kathryn. Indeed, she had laughed as well.
They just spoke as I stood there, and I was slowly regaining my composure. I swallowed a few times, clenched my wrist to relieve the shudder, and then stopped them off in their chat.
“I-I need to go back because I still have a lot of reports to finish.” I stammered, bending down and stepping forward without looking at any of them, but Derek halted me as he spoke. My pupils dilated as I worried that someone would discover my link to him. I'd like to bury everything as much as possible. If only there was a way to delete a certain memory, that's what I'd do.
“May I speak with you later?" When he said that, I turned my back, and my heart was hammering as I imagined what he was going to say to me. I didn't say anything and just kept going.
I was exhausted when I returned to my table. It seemed as if my bones had been sliced and removed from my body coincidentally, like a flood of recollections flowing anew in my head. I assumed I would never think back to this because he had long ago vanished from my life, but I had no idea why he had returned.
I did nothing until my time was up. I simply shivered thinking about what was going to happen afterward. What does he require of me? Wasn't all he'd done before sufficient? Still, wanting? I noticed my notification sound on the company's messaging app as I bowed. Adams' private message to me was read out to me. Why didn't he just text it to me?
“I've been calling your phone earlier, but you don't seem to be aware of it. How many times have I texted you? Do you have a problem?” The content of his message to me.
I immediately picked up my phone to where on the side of my keyboard. Am I so overwhelmed by my thoughts that I don't even notice his message?

He just repeated his message to me as I scrolled. I smiled at his messages just like:
“Honeybunch.”
“Cutie pie.”
“Don't ignore me, my baby.”
They were just repetitive but gave so much light to my heart. I looked at his office, even though I knew he couldn't see me — or perhaps he could glimpse me. He probably wouldn't be like this if he didn't. I just replied to him with a personal computer message.
“I'm sorry, I think I'm tired now.” After all, he said that my stamina seemed to be weakening, I'll just stand up for it now. I didn't want to lie to him, but what if he left me because Derek told him the truth. How about me? I'm wagering again.
“Don't wait for me or drive with me home. I'll stop by my friend later,” I said, even though he hadn't replied yet. I received his message just a few seconds later.
“Why? What are your plans? Can I come?” I laugh at his message because it has a sad emoticon. The longer I got to know him, the more I got to know his side characters. Occasionally he has childishness, which is my favorite part of his personality. I don't like when he's serious because it makes me feel like I can't talk to him.
“Don't be like OA! Why do you have to come when I'll just be gone for an hour? “ As I composed my response to him, I grinned. It's shameful that we do stuff like this here. But it's wonderful to be in love.
“What if you don't come back.”
I let go of the keys in his last message. You are incorrect. I'm scared that once you find out everything, you'll vanish like a bubble. You will forget how much you adore me. I'm terrified to tell you, but I'm even more afraid that you'll find out the truth through your cousin. Every time I imagined he was the cousin of the man without a soul, I tightened my fist.
While we were exchanging messages on the computer, another message unexpectedly appeared. I clicked on it since it appears to be a new server because it does not yet have a profile image.
“You seem to love chatting with my cousin. Perhaps you're so thrilled that you've forgotten we talked about?”
I knew right away who it was from. I pushed the letters to deliver the message to him.
“I hope you don't show up to me again after we talk, pretending that I don't exist in your world. Stand there, I'm leaving.” That was my final message to him before leaving the building.
