A Night With My CEO Chapter 33

Adams POV

"A-Adams ... Why aren't you here again?" Aria cried, her voice wavering and feeble. While the phone was still in my ear, I plucked by my waist. Listening to how terror condenses in her voice despite the fact that I've only been gone for a few hours. But I can't remain with her for long since Zoe requires my assistance as well. What about Aria, though? She requires my comfort even more.

"Okay, I'm going there," I said as I quickly answered her questions and hung up the phone to return to Zoe inside. When I noticed she was still waiting, I hugged her and extended my neck once again so she could straighten my necktie. I can't pinpoint the feeling in her since it's because I went out without telling her.

As she fixed my necktie, I kissed her on the cheek. "I need to leave because I'll be late for work," I informed her quickly. When I proceeded, she merely nodded and turned to go as well. "I can't accompany you to the office today, I'll just call someone who can pick you up here, I'll send my car back," I added, kissing her on the lips and stepping away.

I got in my car and drove to Aria's house. Her family has arrived a week after she has returned, and I have the appearance of a statue filled with cold water due to my inability to move. My entire body tensed, and I had no idea how to react. During the moment she vanished, and I believed she had disappeared entirely, she reappeared in front of me, but as another Aria. Something has changed within her. Aria, who was always vivacious and alive, is no longer with us. She seems to return, but her entire personality has evaporated.

"Adams!"

I was met by her parents' anxious expressions as soon as I walked in. I couldn't concentrate on them because I hurried into her room and heard her wailing.

When I opened the door, her room was cluttered with clothing, lights, make-up, and whatever else could be seen. She was on the floor, gripping the shattered glass, and she was harming her wrist all the while. When my eye caught her, I raced, flung the glass, and then grabbed her up to take her to the hospital. Her wrist was swollen with blood, and she appeared pallid. I'm not sure what happened to her because she hasn't mentioned anything until now.

"Wait, what are you doing?! " I asked, a little hesitantly but forcefully. When I noticed her eyelids closing, I shook her. Her dark bags under her eyes became larger.

Her parents were astonished to witness when I was carrying their kid and blood was flowing from the wrist and their child was ready to die. I ran into someone because I was rushing to get her into my car and get her to the nearest hospital.

I'm not sure how long I've been staring at her. I was also absent from work because I was frightened of abandoning her and wondering what else she might do to herself. When I checked my phone, I was inundated with Zoe's messages. I smacked my forehead since I had forgotten to message her. I'm lost in my head.

“I’m sorry. There was just an emergency.”

That was the message I wanted to convey to her. I could see she was upset since I hadn't even notified her. I waited for her response, but I didn't get one, so I merely demonstrated that she was irritated. I gazed at Aria's face, which was sleeping peacefully. I wanted to ask her a lot of questions, but I didn't know how since I knew her mental health couldn't handle it. Her parents texted me one day to tell me that their daughter had returned. I'm not sure what to think – should I be angry? Or if I ask her why she abruptly vanished?

When my phone rang and I saw Zoe's name, I was able to sit up. But the way she responds to me makes me want to throw away my phone.

“Okay.”

That's all she said; should I laugh or be concerned because her response reflects how she feels? What shall I say in reply? I can't tell her that I was keeping an eye on my ex because she was about to commit herself. Aria is still sound asleep given the fact that I've been watching for five hours. According to the doctor, she was just prompted by mental health issues, which caused her to feel this way.

I yawned because I was suddenly fatigued. It's only 4 in the afternoon so I still have five hours to go to work but I'm too lazy to go. Fortunately, Aria's parents also arrived, carrying her clothes.

"I'm sorry and we still bothered you with your work." It was her father while Aria's mother went straight to her and started crying. I looked back at them and looked back at the day I felt in her sudden disappearance.

I just nodded and was ready to leave when her mother stopped me by calling my name. “Adams, can you visit every day? Even until she just recovered. You are what she needs at these times.” Her mother sobbed as I was restless. When Zoe found out I had met my ex, I knew she would get angry. But I knew she would understand that because of Aria's condition.

"I'll try, ma'am but I can't promise." I bowed to them and continued to walk. Now I have to think about how I can explain to Zoe that I just went somewhere.

When I got to the workplace, everyone was gazing at me, perhaps wondering why I was so late. Except for one woman at the computer who was simply typing and didn't even glance at me, they all didn't look away from me. I was irritated since it was already afternoon and I didn't know where to begin, so I walked directly to her desk. Even though I was getting near, she just kept typing. However, as I touched her, she raised her cold eyes to me.

"Change your suit first, they can see the bloodstain."
