A Night With My CEO Chapter 37

I went to my desk as if I were floating in the air while walking. It was as if my mouth was sewn up so as not to give an opinion. My whole body was stiff but I didn't expect it to soften. It was as if I had been stripped of my bones. As soon as I sat down, I bowed my head, tears were already dripping. Large grains of tears fell to the floor and I didn’t know how to stop them.

When someone tapped my arm, I looked up thinking it was Adams, but I was wrong because it was Derek. Instead of being afraid of him, I didn’t react and just went back to my posture earlier. How do I show drastic distress? It was as if I had been injured and poured alcohol so much that I was numb. I couldn’t get enough because I felt I had no right.

When the door opened I did not lookup. I’m sure it was Adams. My heart beat faster. What can I tell him? What reaction will I have? When I heard footsteps coming towards me I swallowed several times. I became a stump permanently as the person I was waiting for started speaking.

"Zoe," he says calmly.

I wiped my eyes first, then glanced up and gazed at him coldly. It was as if I imagined it was a razor-sharp ice crystal that would puncture his heart. I then gave Derek a blank expression. Derek grinned as Adams brought his lips together. I moved my attention away from Adams and demonstrated to him that I wasn't concerned with everything.

"What do you need from me again, Derek?" I said, hoping to calm myself down since I knew I had no right to question Adams.

They stood in front of me as though there was an intensity between them, so I decided to stand up and avoided becoming involved. Maybe I'll just be away for the time being. I was going to pass them as I carried my bag to the table, but a hand-pulled back at me. I followed that hand and noticed Adams' worried expression. Why didn't he explain it now, if he wanted to?

I looked back at his hand and seemed to show him that I was getting burned. He withdrew it but when he removed his hand it was Derek's turn to hold me. I immediately looked up at him. I no longer feel angry but I still resent every time this psycho man hits our skin. Adams and I were both looking at him.

"What are you doing?" I was surprised and shook my hand at him. But he didn't want to let go, so Adams grabbed his hand to stop him. The grip on me tightened even more.

"Wanna join me somewhere?" Teasingly, he looked at Adams and couldn't erase the grin. “My cousin seems to be busy with another woman. What can I do for a woman with a broken heart? I can comfort you if you wan— ”

Derek didn't complete what he was going to say when he got punched by Adams in the jaw. My co-workers shouted louder as Derek sprawled on the floor. He was sitting, holding the jaw that had been struck against him, and then licked the blood on the side of his lip.

My coworkers stared at us even more since he laughed out loud. He was delighted staring at the blazing Adams while sitting on the floor since his hand was already pressed from behind him. Derek appeared to be slain by Adams' glances as his chest rose lower. I diverted my gaze from him because I didn't want to watch him like that, but I hadn't even done so when a lady ran towards him and held him from behind to stop the angry Adams.

"W-what is going on here?!"

When the woman touched Adams' hand, she noticed the blood. Derek's jaw appears to be too strong to damage him, or perhaps his hand is stained from Derek.

I didn't say anything and simply stood there watching them do whatever they wanted. I fixed my gaze on the woman's face, her lipstick smudged from the kiss she and Adams had had earlier. I couldn't look at them anymore, so I turned to Derek. When I looked around, there were so many people watching us that it seemed like we were on a live show.

"Does it appear that you'll need to tie up your boyfriend from now on, Aria?" It seems to be capable of killing a person is lost." Derek Rose, massaging his ass, which was most likely plastered in the dust. When he was through, he drew me away, but I didn't fight him since I felt that he was the only option for me to get away from that hilarious situation.

After we exited and I double-checked that no one was around, I violently yanked his hand away from me. I went away, but he followed me and shoved me back into place. I want to walk on his irritating face since he won't budge no matter what I do.

"Is this all I can get after saving your face from embarrassment? You've changed, Zoe." He approached me, but I didn't move from where I was. I let him approach near, and as he pressed his face against mine, I smacked him hard.

"You haven't done enough "help" for all the damage you've done to me. If you have to eat lava to be pardoned, do it, but even if you do, I will never forgive you." With that, I stepped away to block a cab.

Despite the fact that anything happened at the office at Adams' house today, I returned since I felt I was secure and comfortable here. I'm used to it, and my eyes are acclimated to it. I was going to walk up to the room he assigned me when I became hungry. I still haven't eaten, and my fever has reduced considerably, but I'm still hot.

But I didn't believe what I would see in the kitchen.
