Alpha Dominant Chapter 26

He looked intensively with disgust at the maid standing in front of him, his piercing gaze filled with a mixture of disdain and contempt. The maid, appearing to look very timid, trembled under his cold glare, her heart pounding in her chest. She couldn't help but wonder what could be going on in his head.

“Lady Nadine is innocent.” As the words escaped her trembling lips, the room fell into an uneasy silence. The air seemed to thicken with tension, as if the very atmosphere held its breath, awaiting the Almighty Kael's response. His deep voice, echoing with authority and power, broke the silence, demanding an explanation. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice showing with a hint of curiosity.

Summoning every ounce of courage she possessed, the maid gathered her thoughts, determined to make Luna Nadine safe. She knew that speaking up could have serious consequences, but the safety of her mistress was at stake. With a shaky voice, she began to recount the events that had transpired, her words carefully chosen to relate the gravity of the situation.

She spoke of how she had found Luna Nadine, trapped in a world of darkness and loneliness. The maid, loyal and devoted, had witnessed the pain etched on Nadine’s face.

With each word, the maid's voice grew stronger, driven by her determination to protect her mistress. She painted a vivid picture of Luna's pains, the agonizing moments that bound her to a life of boredom. The Almighty Kael listened intently, his eyes narrowing as he tried to get the maid’s point of how Nadine was innocent.

The room, once filled with tension, now brimmed with a sense of attention and curiosity. The maid's bravery had spread a glimmer of light in the darkness, making a clear path towards justice and redemption.

“I proposed that Luna take a leisurely stroll around the pack. However, in our eagerness and excitement, we accidentally found ourselves venturing beyond the boundaries of the palace, we were too excited to realize our misstep,” she explained to everyone inside. While they all listened to the maid, no one cared to look at the direction of Nadine.

“We wandered further away from the rich boundaries of the palace, my lady and I became amazed and hooked by the world that unfolded before us. The sights, sounds, and scents of the outside world enveloped us, captivating our senses and momentarily causing us to forget our purpose. Luna Nadine, in particular, was captivated by the beauty of nature that surrounded her. Little did we know, our innocent adventure had not gone unnoticed.”

His piercing gaze bore into the trembling maid as she desperately attempted to explain their intentions, hoping against hope that her words would be enough to protect Nadine from his wrath.

"Why should I believe you?" Alpha Kael's voice sounded with a mixture of anger and suspicion, his eyes narrowing as he made meaning of every word that came out of the maid’s mouth. "You are her personal maid, bound by loyalty and duty. I know that you would go to great lengths to cover up for her evil."

The maid's heart sank, her voice shaking as she struggled to find the right words to reply to Alpha Kael's doubts. She knew that her loyalty to Luna would always be questioned, her motives forever under examination. Yet, she remained steadfast in her plea that Luna's intentions were pure, that she had merely sought solace in the outside world, yearning for a taste of the freedom that had been denied to her within the palace walls.

"She wasn't trying to run away," the maid pleaded, her voice filled with sincerity and desperation. "She was only strolling around, seeking a momentary rest from the suffocating loneliness that had consumed her. Please, Alpha Kael, I beg you to see the truth in her actions."

"You can ask one of the guards, he followed us out."

Kael stood frozen in place, his mind filled with different thoughts. He couldn't believe that he had caused a fuss for nothing and Nadine was going to escape his wrath. I’m the eyes of everyone, he had wronged his mate and now he was supposed to apologize to her and worst of all in front of everyone. The weight of his act settled heavily upon his shoulders, and he found himself at a loss for what to do next.

Nadine had tried to explain things to him, to make him understand, but he had been stubborn and determined to prove her wrong in front of everyone. He had foolishly believed that his powers could conquer all, that he could do anything. Though in his wicked pursuit of dominance, he had hurt her brother, a painful reminder of the damage he was capable of inflicting.

Nadine, continued to yell and struggle against the guards who held her. Her voice echoed through the room, filled with anger and frustration. "Let go of me, you good-for-nothing guards!" she shouted, her words laced with a mix of fury and desperation.

Kael was never ready to apologize to her in front of everyone, so he knew he had to put an end to this. "You can leave!" he ordered, his voice firm and commanding. Without wasting another second, the maid rushed out of the room, leaving the guards. He turned his attention to the guard, silently signaling for them to release Nadine from their grasp.

The guards hesitated for a moment, unsure of whether to obey their Alpha's command or to continue restraining Nadine. But Kael's tone left no room for negotiation, and they reluctantly released her, stepping back to give her some space.

Nadine stood there, her chest heaving with anger and hurt. Her eyes were filled with tears, but she refused to let them fall. She was determined to show Kael that she was strong, that she wouldn't let his actions break her spirit.

Taking a deep breath, she straightened her posture and looked directly into Kael's eyes. "You think you can just order me around, don't you?" she said, her voice trembling with both defiance and vulnerability. "Well, I won't be controlled by you or anyone else. I am my own person, and I deserve to be treated with respect."

Still trembling with anger and fear, she summoned every form of strength within her to move closer to Kael with determination. Each step she took was a battle against the deep pain that came through her leg, threatening to buckle beneath her. Yet, she refused to let her physical agony overshadow the fire burning within her soul.

As she drew closer to Kael, her heart pounded in her chest, echoing the different emotions that coursed through her veins. The weight of her words hung heavily in the air, a sensible tension that seemed to suffocate the room. With a deep breath, she mustered up the courage to speak her mind, her voice trembling yet clear, with delicate balance between defiance and weakness.

"I am well aware of the powers you possess," she blurted out, her words slicing through the thick silence like a sharp blade. Her gaze locked onto Kael's, unyielding and filled with a fierce determination. "While I acknowledge the greatness of your abilities, I plead with you to always have concrete evidence to support your claims. Stand by your words with valid proof to avoid causing harm to the innocent."

The room seemed to hold its breath, the weight of anticipation pressing down upon them.

With that, she left him standing there, alone with his memories and the weight of his actions. The air around Kael seemed to grow heavy as he watched her retreating figure, his heart sinking with each step she took. The words she had spoken echoed in his mind, piercing through the walls he had built around himself. Anger washed over him like a tidal wave, consuming him wholly. How had he let it come to this? How had he allowed her to speak to him in such a manner?

A surge of determination coursed through Kael's veins, sparking a fire within him. He still doubted the words of the maid, therefore needed to find the truth, to uncover the evidence that would support his claims. It was no longer just about clearing his name; it was about putting Nadine in her place. With a resolute expression etched on his face, he turned to face the guards who had previously held Nadine captive.

Their eyes met, and Kael could sense the tension in the air. The guards, once so imposing and unyielding, now seemed uncertain in his presence. He had always been a man of few words, but now he found his voice, his words dripping with conviction. "I demand answers," he stated firmly, his voice carrying the weight of his determination.

The guards exchanged uneasy glances, their strong facial expressions beginning to crack under Kael's unwavering gaze. They had been mere pawns in a game they didn't fully understand, but Kael believed that they held the key to unlocking the truth. He needed their own words, their testimony, in order to be able to humiliate Nadine.

As Kael pressed them for information, he could sense the flicker of fear and guilt in their eyes or so he thought. They knew more than they were letting on, and he was determined to uncover their secrets. With each passing moment, the walls of silence began to crumble. The guards were obviously scared of Kael’s anger.

Kael was ever ready to pursue the truth, leaving no stone unturned. He thought further into the depths of the maid’s explanation, carefully piecing together the puzzle that would expose the darkness lurking beneath the surface. The weight of Nadine’s insult still hung heavy on his shoulders, but he knew that it was only going to take a matter of two to three days before he would punish her in accordance with her crime. Now all he needed was the truth and a solid proof, this way she wouldn’t be able to lie her way through.

"Who was the guard that followed them out?!" he demanded, his voice filled with urgency, his words echoing through the room. The atmosphere became tense as everyone turned their attention towards him, their eyes wide with curiosity and fear. No one knew, or perhaps no one dared to speak, it felt as though the guard in question had vanished into thin air, leaving behind a trail of mystery and intrigue.

The room fell into a heavy silence, the air thick with anticipation, as Kael's frustration grew. His brows furrowed, his jaw clenched, and his fists tightened at his sides. He was determined to uncover the truth, to unravel the situation that had unfolded before him. The guard's sudden disappearance had prompted a fire within him, now the burning desire to solve the puzzle and punish those who had dared to defy him increased.

With a commanding presence, Kael took a step forward, his gaze piercing through them, demanding their attention. His voice, like thunder rolling across the sky, echoed through the room, carrying a sense of authority that left no room for doubt or hesitation. Every word he spoke was fixed with power, sounding deep within the hearts of those who listened.

"Find out and return to me!" he commanded, his voice booming with a bold determination. The weight of his words hung in the air, with a demanding force that compelled his subordinates to action. They knew better than to question his orders, for Kael was a force to be reckoned with, a leader who tolerated no disobedience.
