Alpha Dominant Chapter 31

The leader of the pack, known as the Alpha, decided to gather everyone for a meeting. He was worried about his daughter being taken away by a cruel man, and he didn't want to lose his pack either. He understood that this was not just his own concern, so he wanted to hear what others had to say about it.

As he made his way to the room where the meeting was to be held, his daughter Nadine stopped him. She asked if everything was okay, but he lied and assured her that everything was fine. However, Nadine could tell that something was wrong and sighed in disappointment.

"Don't lie to me, Dad," she said. "I saw the letter and I know what the meeting is about. Let me join and have a say in it."

The Alpha, feeling conflicted, ordered her to go to her room. Nadine was taken aback by this command and questioned why she should be sent away while others decided her fate. However, he didn't respond and simply walked away, leaving her calling out to him in frustration.

During the meeting, the first advisor, who was a very experienced warrior known for his clever plans, proposed a simple idea: they should just go to battle. The reason behind this suggestion was that the enemy had killed his father during a war, and he wanted to seek revenge.

Now, it was quite clear that his advice was not very well thought out, but luckily, his apprentice was there to guide him in the right direction.

"The Flanking Maneuver is what I propose," the apprentice spoke up. "This battle strategy involves dividing our forces into two groups and attacking the enemy from both sides. By surrounding them and cutting off their escape routes, we can ensure victory." He continued, "When we engage in battle, we will not suffer defeat this time."

While this approach can catch the enemy off guard and give us an advantage, there is a possibility that the enemy might anticipate our maneuver and prepare defensive positions to counter our flanking attack. They could strengthen their center, creating a strong barrier that would make it difficult for our flanking groups to break through," the apprentice added, emphasizing the potential risks.

Everyone in the meeting nodded in agreement, acknowledging the validity of the apprentice's concerns. However, the first advisor was not ready to give up just yet.

"Then, allow me to suggest 'The Siege Assault' as an alternative strategy," he proposed. "This plan involves besieging the enemy's stronghold, gradually wearing them down with relentless attacks, and cutting off their supply lines. By doing so, we can weaken their defenses and eventually claim victory."

However, it's important to consider that the plan might not work if the enemy has prepared their defenses very carefully, strengthening their walls and gathering resources. Their determination and ability to withstand the attack could make the siege last longer, causing attrition within the pack's forces and potentially lowering their morale. The apprentice spoke up once more.

"Thank you, my young friend, for sharing your knowledge. Allow me to propose an alternative strategy called 'The Guerilla Tactics':"

Guerilla warfare relies on quick and unexpected attacks, using the pack's speed and knowledge of the surroundings to catch the enemy off guard. This approach aims to disrupt the enemy's formations and lower their morale. However, it's important to note that this tactic might not be successful if the enemy is well-prepared and uses counter-guerilla tactics. They might establish strong defensive positions, set traps, or even seek assistance from the air, which would neutralize the pack's advantage of speed and ability to blend in with the environment. The advisor reminded the apprentice, but this time his expression was filled with anger.

Clearing his throat once again, the advisor continued with another suggestion.

"The Decoy Strategy is another option to consider."

In this strategy, the pack creates a diversion by sending a small group to attract the enemy's attention, while the main force launches a surprise attack from a different direction. This tactic aims to confuse and distract the enemy, giving the pack an advantage by catching them off guard.

Listen up, my friend! Let me break it down for you in simpler terms. You see, there's this plan called "The Ambush." It's a sneaky tactic where our pack hides and waits for the enemy to come by. When they least expect it, we pounce on them like a lion on its prey. But here's the catch: if the enemy is smart enough to see through our trick and focuses their defenses on our main group, we'll be in trouble. They'll leave us vulnerable to their attack.

And that's not all! If the enemy is super intelligent or has scouts who are like detectives, they might figure out our plan in advance. They'll be prepared for our ambush, and that will ruin the element of surprise. It's like when you're playing hide-and-seek, and your friend knows exactly where you're hiding. Not fun, right?

Now, our friend over there shouted, "Hey, everything has good and bad sides!" He wanted to make sure we knew about the disadvantages before we went ahead with the plan. It's always good to be aware of the risks, you know?

But then, another advisor chimed in and said, "Hey, how about we try something else?" He turned to the leader, who was desperate for a solution. Even though everyone knew the advisor's idea wasn't the best, the leader wanted to hear it anyway. Desperation can make us do strange things, my friend.

Therefore, the leader gave the advisor permission to speak. And what did he suggest? Well, he explained "The Ambush" strategy in more detail. He said that our pack would patiently wait for the enemy, hidden and ready to strike. But here's the twist: we'll send a spy to infiltrate the enemy's camp and gather important information. With that knowledge, we'll be able to attack them with precision.

Wait! hold on, my friend! There's a risk to this plan too. Ambushes can be super effective and cause chaos among the enemy ranks. But if the enemy has well-trained scouts and good intelligence, they might sniff out our ambush before it even happens. They could change their route or send a fake group to throw us off track. That would ruin our surprise attack and could even turn the tables on us. It's like when you're playing a game and your opponent knows your every move. Not a good situation, right?

So, my friend, that's the deal with "The Ambush" strategy. It's a risky move, but if we play our cards right and the enemy doesn't catch on, it could lead us to victory." The second advisor responded instead since his apprentice was too intimidated to speak.

The Alpha let out a deep breath, feeling the weight of the situation. It seemed like there was always a way for things to go wrong, no matter how carefully they planned.

"Let's consider another approach," the Alpha suggested. "What if we tried a Cavalry Charge? This means that our pack would use their incredible speed and strength to charge forward, breaking through the enemy's frontlines."

The Alpha turned to one of the pack members and asked, "Are there any disadvantages to this strategy?"

The pack member hesitated for a moment, then replied, "Well, there is a chance that this plan could fail if the enemy has already anticipated our cavalry charge. They might have taken defensive measures like digging trenches, building barricades, or forming anti-cavalry formations. In such a scenario, our pack's momentum could be stopped abruptly, leaving us vulnerable to counterattacks or exposed to concentrated enemy fire."

Furthermore the Alpha wasn't ready to give up just yet. "What about Psychological Warfare?" the Alpha inquired. "How would that work?"

The pack member explained, "Psychological warfare involves using tactics to demoralize the enemy. This could include spreading rumors about our pack's strength, displaying our superior abilities, or even inflicting psychological trauma during battle."

The Alpha nodded, wanting to hear more. "And what are the potential drawbacks of this approach?" the Alpha asked.

The pack member replied, "While psychological warfare can indeed weaken the enemy's resolve and diminish their fighting spirit, it might not work if the enemy has strong leadership and unity. They could have trained their forces to remain resilient, deflecting our attempts to sow discord and maintaining their focus on the ultimate objective."

The Alpha listened carefully, considering all the possibilities. It was clear that no strategy was foolproof, and they would need to be prepared for any outcome.

Alpha, like I mentioned earlier, nothing is foolproof, there are always downsides, but we also have a chance to succeed." He tried to convince the alpha.

"It is important to understand that no battle plan is perfect, and our success depends on many factors, such as the enemy's strength, the terrain we're fighting on, and how well our pack executes the plan. Being flexible, adaptable, and having backup plans are crucial in order to overcome unexpected challenges during the battle. I'm sorry to say this, but if we engage in a direct battle with them, we will lose because they are stronger and have experienced warriors on their side." The other advisor added.

"Is there anyone else who has a different idea that doesn't involve fighting?" The Alpha questioned.

"Alpha..." the advisor started, but the alpha interrupted him.

"I'm sorry, but I need a solution that has no downsides. I can't afford to take any risks. Hasn't our pack suffered enough? You lost your father, will you be satisfied if others lose their loved ones too?"
