Jason's POV
I growled and slammed the door behind me, wiping the blood from my cheeks. Those filthy rouges attacked me, and blood was flowing out of my nose. Although I didn't really expect this to happen, I was not shocked. I was just upset because I had miscalculated their size and strength.
I'm very disappointed in you, dude. Ryland entered the entryway while holding a towel.
To what end? Bleeding? Letting a bunch of jerks jump me is pretty annoying?" To prevent spilling any more blood on his floor, I held my nose and inhaled through my nose while cocking my head back.
"No! For avoiding driving your fantastic automobile over here!" As if that were the most obvious thing in the world, he shouted. I laughed, although my lips were covered with blood.
"You're upset with me because I didn't use the automobile you provided me rather than spoiling your welcome mat with my blood. You should know that the engine would draw every criminal within at least a five-mile radius of all people.
"You understand that I'm joking with you. Simply said, I've been waiting to watch you use the automobile. Goddess is aware that you never buy yourself anything. He murmured and gave the towel to me.
You gave me the automobile so I could treat myself, right? As I applied pressure to my nose, I groaned. I assumed it was because you were so appreciative when I rescued your sister. He waved his hands while shrugging.
"Somewhat of both." I smiled in response to his grin.
I don't feel as awful about damaging your carpet now. Good luck, guy, with that. As I walked toward his office, I gave him a backslap.
"So tell me, why are you back here again? Jackson hardly mentioned the reason for your presence being so unexpected. Is he still upset with me for what I did last year?
"Ryland, if you tore my tail off, too, I'd be more than a little angry."
"It was a mistake! Additionally, he began it so your pack doctor could fasten it again! It still works, right?
"Whatever." I gave him a head slap and sat down in the chair, digging around in the remnants of my luggage.
"See? No damage was done. I took the file out of my backpack, threw it on the desk in front of him, and then I walked away.
"The peace treaty so that we can work together."
"You could have just asked for assistance if you needed it. You've previously warned me to be ready for everything and to stock up on supplies.
Do you not know The Book of Laws? I sighed as she looked at me with a sheepish smile and shook her head.
"In my defense, it was excessively drawn out and repeated. In addition, they utilized enormous words that made no sense.
"Well, it says that until this is signed, no pack may engage in combat as friends. We each have one of the two copies that are present. The werewolf committee will pursue both of us if you don't have them.
Oh, really? He managed, and I scowled at him. "You traveled all by yourself to keep us out of danger. Even worse, you were hurt for me! It would help if you genuinely cared about me.
"Just shut up and sign that damn contract."
Megan's POV
Just as the sun dipped below the horizon, a sense of yearning returned to my heart. The early night was welcomed by the crescent moon, which was visible through the trees. I eventually gave up trying to get any sleep at tonight and threw the covers off my body. With this emotion preventing me from falling asleep, I couldn't. I had the sense that something was missing and that I wanted to get it back. My heart had a yearning, and it wouldn't let me fall asleep until it was satisfied.
I came to the conclusion that I needed to go for a long walk since my wolf was missing the lovely woodland at night. I left my room with my wolf prodding me to explore the areas of the woods I had not previously explored. I sneaked around the big home, trying not to wake anybody, looking for any other individuals in the long, dark passageways. Even though I had free rein to come and go as I pleased, it became a habit to make sure I wouldn't be caught or bother anybody.
I felt the night's darkness embrace me and welcome me in as I silently opened the front door and shut it behind me. As I trailed through the night, the soft, chilly wind kissed my exposed flesh. Now that their fur was going back to brown, white rabbits could be seen making their way to their dens. The air was thick with life and flowers, filling my nose with their delicious fragrance. Spring, a time of renewal and fresh starts was quickly approaching.
I was meandering through the woods without a specific destination in mind. I was taken aback when I suddenly found myself walking down a well-known route and stood in front of the Alpha's home. Even though I was aware that I shouldn't go inside, something inside of me compelled me to do so. My heart begs me to go and just open the door as it shouts out at me.
Without me even realizing it, my feet started to move, bringing me ever closer to the object of my heart's desire. As soon as I turned the knob, it opened, and his aroma welcomed me inside. He couldn't always keep the door to his residence unlocked since it was dangerous. Although it could be easily broken into and everything taken, Alpha felt secure knowing that it was unlocked.
I knew in my heart that I had to stay as soon as I smelled him. My heart was longing for him, and I knew it, but for the time being, I had to make do with his aroma. I could tell he spent a lot of time in this room. The home was decorated with sentimental items, and I could practically feel him with me there. This relaxed my body and my emotions. I felt at ease since I knew I was in his house, his property, and the place he considers home.
My lips released a yawn. I felt secure enough just to be here to know I could sleep well. My nose disagreed with my eyes, which were scanning the sofa. It guided me to where his presence was most prevalent and where his aroma was greatest.
I approached the bed and stood over it, spending a long time just staring at it. Even though I wanted to sleep here, I knew I shouldn't and wasn't able to. Something had moved out of the corner of my eye as I turned around and prepared to exit the room and settle down on the sofa. Something on the nightstand must have been moved by my fast movement and dropped to the floor. I took a closer look and saw that it was a green post-it, the same kind I had seen on his desk earlier.
Megan, if you are here and are reading this, keep in mind what I said. Even if I'm not here with you, you are still welcome here. You should be here, please. Do not feel compelled to depart; thank you. Use the bed to rest well, and if you don't have pajamas, feel free to borrow one of my shirts.
lucid dreams,
Jason
I reread the brief letter many times to confirm that I genuinely understood what it stated. I can be present. He didn't say I had to be here, only that he wanted me to. I was experiencing intense emotional struggle. Everything I was taught and everything I acquired throughout my life did not assist me in any way with this circumstance. People shouldn't enter an alpha's home. Alphas don't treat others well. They demand that things be done without asking for them to be done.
However, there was Alpha, being kind to me, allowing me to stay in his home, and asking me if I wanted to do anything. I eventually put the letter on the nightstand, where I had discovered it after reading it one last time. I groaned as I looked back and forth between the message and the bed. I made myself comfortable in his bed by pulling back the covers and tucking myself in between the plush blankets. I curled up on his pillow and breathed in his strong aroma, which helped to calm my racing thoughts. I gave in to my heart's desires at last.
