Alpha Jason Rogue Luna Chapter 38

Jason's POV

I was perplexed by a tiny flicker of feeling that was definitely not of my own. Although I didn't feel it, I assumed I was terrified and sad. There was a reason why I ought to be, too. It was nothing to be frightened of to have breakfast at a table with only two other people, particularly since one of them was expecting. I felt as if a thread was pulling at my heart, telling me that something wasn't right. My phone began to ring in my pocket at that moment, and when I took it out, their name was displayed. Jackson is here.

"Hello? What's not right? I inquired after formally stepping away from the table.

"How in the world did you realize there was a problem? I haven't even spoken yet.

I said, "Just tell me what the fuck is wrong!" In the back of my mind, my wolf was skulking, his muscles taunting and tail nervously flicking back and forth. I could hear him sighing.

"Our upgraded defenses had failed. Nobody is exactly sure how Gordon crossed the border, but he did. He broke in when Megan was quite sleeping at your place.

Is she all right? I stopped him. The question, "Has she been hurt?"

She hasn't been wounded, I can promise you, but she has been severely rattled. She was crying and trembling when Kai came upon her in the woods. It seems that he broke into your house and wrote her a threatening message. I barked and squeezed the phone even tighter.

I inquired once again, "Is she okay?"

"I'm not entirely sure. Kai is now en route to locate her after telling her to take a bath in her room. She only informed me and handed me the letter.

As soon as Kai finds her, let me know. As soon as I speak with Ryland once more, I'll go. Through the phone, a high-pitched, ethereal cry could be heard.

"Shit!" Jackson yelled obscenities into the phone. It would be best if you arrived right away since there is an assault going on. He spoke quickly before hanging up.

Megan's POV

I stopped on my steps as I heard a scream reverberate through the thick jungle. They're here, and I'm to blame. I howled in agony as my bones started to fracture, and a wave of sorrow and remorse swept over my body. I hurried in the direction of the cry, darting through the woods while keeping my nose up. I had to track her down.

Off to my left, there was another scream, and I immediately turned around. I sprang up, rammed my paws into a tree, and then pushed off to the left, quickly shifting my course without slowing down. I ran faster by widening my strides and using all of my might. I had to finish it.

My blood was heated and engorged with wrath as my heart pounded against my chest. I drew in thick, earthy breaths that were laden with the scent of rotting flesh. As I drew nearer, the stench of decay intensified, almost scorching the inside of my nose. My ears twitched as I drew forward to the sound, which was made up of yelps and feeble cries of anguish. I had to find her quickly.

A little blood. Blood is only mentioned once.

I saw the hideous creature firmly grasping the torso of a young girl. His lips began to spew foaming saliva, which became red as it combined with the blood oozing from the girl's corpse. Her little body sprang up into the air as he tossed her out of her mouth and looked at me with his black eyes. His golden teeth were stained with blood as he hissed, and his eyes locked with me. I was only able to see red at that time.

When things go very worse! Just an alert!

I charged at him, and in an instant, the delicate tissue of his neck was pierced by my razor-sharp fangs. His flesh was torn to pieces as I clenched my teeth and violently rocked my head from side to side. He lacked the strength to resist them. The repulsive rouge struggled hard to get away from me, but I wouldn't let him. I gave him one final roar before turning around and ripping a sizable portion of his neck away from his body. He choked and inhaled his own blood as he passed away slowly and painfully, and I watched with joy. My wolf delighted in the flavor of his blood as he licked her lips. One last time, as his body shook and twitched in death, his spirit departed.

I then turned toward the spot where he had thrown the corpse of his victim. I just had to take one look at her deformed physique to realize I was too late. Her intestines grazed the ground, and her other internal organs were exposed as her insides spilled out of a large hole in her stomach. She was lying in a pool of her own blood, her body little and feeble. Her eyes, which I assumed had previously been a lovely, warm brown, were now lifeless and fixed on me without showing any emotion. Jaw hanging open and sagging, constantly pleading for assistance.

The warning is over now!

The girl seemed to be between ten and eleven years old. She was a young soul with a long life ahead of her and had so much promise. Her hopes of transforming, running into her wolf, finding her mate, or anything else she desired were now utterly dashed. I will always feel responsible for her death, which will plague me forever. My hands will be covered with her bright crimson blood as long as I live. Her once-sweet face, now inscribed with sorrow, will always be there in the background of my thoughts, tormenting me and turning my dreams into terrifying nightmares.

I cocked my head back and howled out in regret while leaning back on my haunches. I prayed that the Moon Goddess would hear me as I put all of my feelings into the song I was singing. Despite the fact that the light was blazing down on us, I listened to my other pack members react to my appeal by singing their own depressing songs to the moon. I begged her to send his evil spirit to an agonizing afterlife for stealing such a helpless life away from us.

When she needed me the most, I let her down.
