Alpha Jason Rogue Luna Chapter 49

Megan's POV

It would be an understatement to say that my whole existence has been dictated and governed by rules and directions. I don't follow orders; I provide them, and if someone doesn't follow them right, I correct them. I didn't belong here and I felt out of place.

I was used to having to get up early, so it was nothing new to me. I was also used to being outside, but I recoiled as I caught a glimpse of the crowds of people. I felt really vulnerable because of how my shorts displayed my very light scars. But unlike the other ladies, I was sporting a sweatshirt rather than a tank top or simply a sports bra. As we left the room, Jason gave me a strange look, but he didn't ask me why I had done what I had.

I watched and observed from a distance on the training field rather than entering the action straight away. I am really grateful for Jason's assurance that I was under no need to do anything if I didn't want to or felt overburdened. There were far too many individuals present—much more than I had anticipated. One from a separate bag of scents heaped on top of another, some of which I had never encountered before. Jason wanted to support and console me, but he had to step in when a fight between two guys descended into a bloodbath.

My eyes constantly surveyed the arena for potential threats—a behavior I'm sure will never stop. I scanned the surroundings carefully when I saw someone. She was rather little, and if I hadn't been paying close attention, I may have missed her. She might be easily missed, but it was her hair that attracted my eye first. It was a stunning pink and purple hue, chopped off just above the shoulders.

As I watched her more closely, I saw that she was having problems striking a punching bag. She seemed to be exerting all of her might into her swings, yet the bag hardly moved at all. I saw that she was doing the exercise wrong and, if she kept doing it, she would likely get an injury. I pondered going over to her since doing so would require me to enter the arena's center in full view of everyone. I came to the conclusion that was absolutely necessary as I saw her deliver another terrible punch, leaving the client's fingers achingly at her side.

I proceeded aimlessly in her direction, keeping my head down, attempting to blend in and go undetected. I was relieved that no one appeared to notice my presence as I moved quickly among the survivors. I was able to get a closer look at the girl's position since she wasn't yet aware of me, allowing me to identify what I needed to change. She continued to throw blows as I waited for her to see me, oblivious to my presence.

I made the decision to sit in because I knew if she kept going, she would either injure her wrist or break a knuckle. I approached her and gave her a little touch on the shoulder as my gift to her. She turned quickly, and I had to dive beneath her arm to escape being struck.

Oh, my Goddess. As I rose, she froze, her eyes widening. I'm terribly sorry, Luna! It wasn't me.

It's OK. Mid-panic, I interrupted her and reassured her that nothing was wrong. "I'm sorry for catching you off guard; you weren't aware I was there. I was unsure whether you wanted assistance. I yelled at the target while festering.

"I'm really that awful, aren't I?" She mumbled, the rage and shame on her cheeks making it crimson.

"No, nothing awful. If you don't mind, I can correct you a little. She agreed, and I instructed her to position herself as if she were going to deliver a punch.

"All right, let's start with your legs. Set your knees to approximately shoulder width, then slightly relax them while remaining on your toes. That will make you speedier and enable quicker reactions. She swung as I instructed her to. Not much more than before, the bag shifted a little bit.

"Now that you have a strong swing, I see that you utilize more than just your arm. Your core muscles are also used. Move your other arm while focusing your energies there. If you miss and they swing at you, you want your other arm to protect your body. I moved her arm so that her body would be blocked. "Do it now."

She raised her hand back and swung as I watched. The bag swung farther back as a result of the contact, which created a loud bang against the cloth. She was made to repeat it, and each time, her strikes improved. I then showed her how to punch with her non-dominant hand after showing her the identical technique.

I appreciate it, Luna. She remarked, giving me a tiny bow as she slightly cocked her head.

"Please give me a call at Megan; it was no problem at all."

Thank you so much, Luna Megan. I repeatedly begged Lucy for assistance, but she either ignored me or disregarded me completely. As she wiped her face of perspiration, she reddened once again. I finally gave up and decided that I would be a babysitter rather than a fighter.

You'd be a great warrior, so just come to me if you need any assistance. I hated it because I didn't know her name.

"Amy." She smiled, the sun bouncing off her vivid hair.

Alright, Amy. If you need assistance, you may come find me. I was hesitant to ask since I thought it could seem impolite. How do you like that shade of hair?

She gave me a head twist. "Hair dye, Megan Luna. Your hair may be dyed in whatever color you choose. If you'd like, I can complete yours. She became elated. After much thought, I determined that it would be best if I didn't. Having hair that is a different hue would only make people notice me more.

................................................................

"You did a really good job today." Jason praised me and mentioned how I had assisted him with Amy.

I said, "Thank you."

Thanks for having me, Megan. As soon as his lips formed my name, my stomach began to churn. Hearing my name intensified the sparks that were already there as his thumb made circular motions over the back of my hand.

As the guys added three more logs to the fire, the flames rose and the heat increased. It was referred to as a "bonfire" by Jason. It served as a meeting place and informal celebration so that his pack and Alpha Ryland's pack could get to know one another and get along.

I stumbled over my words as I glanced up at him, entirely forgetting what I was about to ask him. His face was bathed in an orange and crimson glow that accentuated his muscular features and enhanced his good looks. I blushed at being caught up in the activity as he turned away as though he sensed my attention on him. Behind his eyes, I could see the flames flashing in reflection, giving his stare an even more intense appearance.

"Megan, everything good?" As he repeated my name, I trembled.

"I- I think I'll go get some water," said the speaker. I blurted, wanting to get away from him and get rid of the emotion. I experienced a feeling I had never experienced before as my lower tummy burned. My panties began to feel damp, making me feel as if I had just urinated on myself, and I moved uncomfortably. I saw as his eyes went black and his focus became even more intense as his nostrils flailed in response to a deep inhale.

"I can get it for you," I said. He spoke in a low, almost seductive tone.

"It's OK, I'm sorry. I'll obtain it. I hesitated and withdrew while waiting for him to release my hand. As soon as he did, I dashed through the crowd in an effort to locate anything cool to douse the fire that seemed like it was consuming me from the inside out. When I last found a drink on the table, I drank it all before refilling it.

"I realize why they are pursuing you." I turned around after hearing a snide voice behind me.

"Excuse me?"

You are an assassin. Lucy scowled once again.

I have no idea what you're talking about. I was able to speak without stammering. She blocked my path as I tried to get past her.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about, by golly. You are aware that you are a killer.

I'm not, I say.

"You killed innocent people for fun, and I'm going to make sure everyone knows what you did." Everyone was gazing at me as she left, their eyes piercing me with their anger. I dropped my cup and my hands started to shake. How did she find out?

"You shouldn't be Luna," she said. Lucy gave me a smug look before leaving. They caused my body to tremble, and I could feel the rage they were throwing my way. I sprinted towards the woods while feeling my airways constrict and observing as my vision began to go completely black.
