Alpha Jason Rogue Luna Chapter 59

Megan's POV

The sorrowful tale in the book that was sitting on my lap was depicted by the words dancing over the page. As I stumbled through the tale, I sometimes had to halt because I couldn't comprehend the meanings of new, more challenging phrases. It was one of the very first novels I enjoyed reading.

While watching a movie on the couch next to me, Blaire offered assistance with the phrases I was having trouble pronouncing. I was initially appreciative of her assistance, but that soon changed as I understood how much I needed her assistance in order to comprehend even a single page of the book. It was pitiful, and I was pitiful. After a while, I just stopped asking and pretended to read the text while actually just gazing at the page before flipping it.

I marked the page I ended myself on and slammed the book shut as soon as I felt my heart beating behind my eyelids. I turned my focus to the television and watched as the images on the screen shifted and flashed. My eyes were beginning to suffer from the rapid and abrupt bursts of color, and my mind was hurting from trying to follow the constantly shifting narrative.

You don't watch a lot of movies, do you? Blaire questioned from next to me.

I replied, "I don't know," in all sincerity. The movies I viewed before this one weren't as complex or perplexing.

"I'm not really sure what's happening either," she said. I nodded in agreement as she chuckled. We entered a calm stillness as she started to press a button that switched the television to various programs and movies. Although we were quiet, it didn't seem uncomfortable since we had nothing to say to one another.

Are you finding the book enjoyable?

I blushed and said, "To be honest, I didn't comprehend any of it. She ultimately decided on a station that carried a program she and the other kids often watched. We became quiet once again as we watched a program that had no purpose whatsoever, yet I remained mute. The fact that the program was about to stop and a new one that could be easier for me to understand to come on made me very delighted.

Saying "I'm sorry." Without even giving it a second thought, the words just came out of my mouth.

Do you mean, "I'm sorry?" She replied in kind. "I'm sorry, Luna, but I'm not sure what you mean."

"I apologize for how I handled you when I first arrived here." I elaborated. "I wasn't used to receiving generosity from others; in fact, I'm still perplexed by it. Simply put, I was terrified and avoided interacting with anybody.

"No problem at all, Luna. I understand."

I said, "I'm still sad about that, however. "I'm trying to change, but it's hard," She switched off the television by aiming the remote at it. She shifted her whole body to face me, giving me her undivided attention.

I am aware, Luna. I'm aware that you and Kai experienced something together a few years back, but I was not made aware of the specifics. She needed a lot of time before she could trust anybody else.

"I-I overheard you talking to Jason about how you just wanted to talk and be my friend, but I just ran into my room," the speaker said. I sighed and inhaled deeply as I nibbled at the page's edge of my book. "I was horrified to hear you say that, but I was too afraid to respond. Although I wanted to apologize, I was just too terrified.

You don't need to apologize, Luna. I am aware of everything. She reluctantly stretched for my hand and laid hers on mine, caressing my fingers softly with her thumb.

You're not required to call me Luna. Just call me the name Megan.

Yes, of course. After a little pause, she eventually spoke "Megan."

I smiled at her cordially. I said, "Thank you."

"Awww, look at this." From behind the couch's back, a voice scowled. The lonesome is now forming friendships. Lucy was plucking at her long nails while leaning up against the wall. One cheek was swelled more than the other, and I focused my attention on a little bruise that was hidden behind her makeup.

"Stop it, Lucy," I said. Blaire retaliated by issuing a warning. I believed that Alpha Jason already warned you enough.

"Like i care," She chuckled. This girl is already going to ruin this pack, I can tell." She raised her polished paw and pointed at me. "Why follow the pack leader when the pack is no longer going to exist?"Lucy, that's not anything to make light of. Going against the Alpha and laughing over the ruin of the pack seems like something that may get you in trouble for treason. She rolled her eyes and sneered. "What? Megan, you have nothing to say? She made fun. Despite the fact that you are to blame for the whole issue, you are so weak that you need another person to protect you.

"N-no-"

"This whole pack will die protecting you, and you're strong enough to defend yourself. How pitiful. As she approached, she grabbed my hair and pulled it to the side, exposing my neck. All of this is due to the fact that our Alpha is too frail to reject you and protect the pack.

A white, scorching agony surged through my body as she pushed her claw into my mark, causing me to scream. The warmth of my blood could be felt dripping down my neck, staining both my flesh and my clothing. She sucked my blood off her finger as I watched and the scarlet red ran down her neck as she did so.

That's all, then.

Say "Shut the fuck up!" She grew before coming back to look at me.

"This pack will burn down completely. Because you were unable to stop it, a torrent of blood will flow through our lands. Because of you, every single one of them will perish. As their friends, family members, and loved ones pass away, they will endure suffering. Watching their parents perish in front of them before suffering the same fate themselves, children will not be spared. She let go of my hair, pulling strands of gold from my head and dropping them on the ground.

"Turning oneself in was all you had to do. Everyone will now be injured. The silence was broken by an unidentified howl that made my hair stand on end and gave me shivers.

And it seems that they have already started traveling.
