Alpha's Temporary Luna Chapter 42

Tomorrow that day, Axel left the Palace with Sophie. He told his men to stay, so they could have their time without any disturbance. He went to the Capital with her beloved to accompanied her, and although, Sophie was still continuously giving him silent treatment, he felt at ease.

They weren’t in the Palace. She won’t be able to escape him now.

“What were you going to buy, Sophie?” Axel asked his Luna as they walked blending in with the civilians. “Make-up?”

“Flora told you?” Sophie asked without looking back at him.

“I guessed.”

Guessed?

Sophie’s eyebrows etched. “How could you have guessed it was make-up?”

“Flora told me you like using beauty enhancer.” Axel simply said.

Sophie then remembered that he summoned Flora yesterday noon. Was this what they talked about? She breathed hard. She was sure her cheeks turned red, so she walked even faster to hid it. So, what if he asked for my favorites? That can’t be enough.

I mean, not like I want him to do more. But even after days of avoiding him, he still hasn’t apologized. She had been waiting for it. Not just a simple sorry to cut the misunderstanding. She deeply wanted him to apologize, because he had realized he was wrong and that he acknowledged hurting her.

Avoiding Axel was like holding a two-edge sword. She couldn’t help but missed him. But at the same time, she wanted him to realize something. She wasn’t just anyone now. She was now his Luna. He can’t just use his authority on her like he did to everybody. She wasn’t one of his followers, she was his Queen.

Sophie, who was leading the way, was about to turn left to passed by a store she recently discovered, when the Alpha suddenly reached for her wrist. Sophie’s steps immediately halted. She turned to him, a little surprise. But she wasn’t able to ask him when he suddenly walked, dragging her, towards a certain direction.

“A-axel.” She called his name, fazed. “Where are we going? That’s not the way––“

“Let’s buy you new sets of dresses while we’re at it.” Axel answered her question. “That wouldn’t hurt, right?”

What was that…

Sophie’s lips pursed as she looked at the back of his head. New sets of dresses? Her clothes weren’t old. Though, she could admit that she wanted new ones, she never told him that. Or did Flora also mentioned she liked dresses?

Especially, those that were from him.

Axel had a lot of money. That was to be expected, since he lived in a Palace. But she did not want to abuse that. She’d been using his money, but she was also following the maximum amount she set to herself. It was to minimize buying expensive things. He had already spent enough dime. For the renovation of her room in the palace. Dresses. Shoes. Jewelries. She didn’t want to go overboard…

Yet, when he gave her that white dress without her asking for it. She felt really happy. How could he have known what would make her heart flutter?

Sophie wasn’t able to speak. She was drowned in thoughts that she was late to realize that they were already in a boutique store. Axel was holding her hand… like they were couple.

You’re not a teenager, Sophie. Stop making a big deal out of a simple holding-hands when you’ve done much intimate than that.

“I wasn’t able to ask what kind of dress you’d like since it was for a surprise gift then. But you’re with me now,” Axel said before he turned to her. “You can pick what you like, Sophie.”

Would that be okay? I mean, we haven’t been on good terms. Would it be okay to just let him spoil me like this? Sophie wanted a minute to decide. Axel, on the other hand, let go of Sophie to sit on the waiting area of the store.

He wasn’t waiting for her permission. It was as if he said it, and expected her to do so.

A saleslady approached Sophie. She guided him towards the shelves of dresses. She was still a little unsure, but it was too late to persist now. Sophie tried to shrug the feeling off by enjoying herself with the clothes presented there. She only planned to pick a two or three, but upon seeing the designs, and styles, she couldn’t help herself.

Sophie eventually bought five dresses. All of it costed extremely expensive, but the Alpha paid for it, anyway. It put Sophie in a both good and awkward mood. Good because shopping made her feel at ease. Awkward because she felt like he was trying to please her by bringing her there, and she just took the bait.

They headed next to Sophie’s favorite store for the beauty enhancer she had been waiting for. There were a lot of people, to be expected. And when she arrived, there was only five left. She grabbed the two, but Axel insisted she should buy all of them.

Not to mentioned, the price was twice as expensive as a single dress.

Axel told her to have her time picking more, but Sophie refused. After they bought it, Sophie asked him out to go home.

“It’s still early.” Axel took a glance on his wrist watch. “Don’t you want to buy more?”

“No, this is enough,” retorted, Sophie.

“Then, let’s just eat. It’s almost time for lunch, anyway.”

Right. And she was now a little hungry.

Sophie breathed hard. “I’m tired, let’s just go home.”

“Tired? But I’m holding all the ones you bought.” Axel’s brows met. His hand was full. He carried them himself because he didn’t want to tire him.

“Tired from walking, Axel.” Sophie made it clear. “And you might really buy me out if we stay longer.”

Sophie took her steps, not letting Axel say a word. The Alpha, then, smiled. Of course, she knew. Sophie was smart. He knew she knew this was just a way to please her, and she just allowed him to do that.

Now, I know what could make you swoon, Sophie.

Axel abided by what Sophie said and went home. What she didn’t know was the last trick was set up home. Whilst Sophie was on the Capital with Axel, Axel ordered his men to do something.

Sophie walked straight to their room. She was to get a pair of clothes and take a bath. But what she saw on their bedroom when she opened the door was something unhoped for.

There was a pathway created by candles in glasses. It was headed towards the bed. She breathed heard as she walked. The bed was full of petals. Red rose petals. A bouquet was placed on top of it, and then a…

She hurried. Beside the bouquet was a dagger. But it wasn’t just a simple dagger. It looked exactly like the one she owned when she was little. Caught by surprise, she held it. How did Axel know about this? Or was it purely coincidence?

But she didn’t show any interest in weapons, did she? She tried not to. So, how…

“Did you like it?”
