Alpha's Temporary Luna Chapter 58

“What was that all about?”

As soon as Axel shut the door closed, Sophie let go of him. Axel, who was still wearing his formal attire, loosen his necktie as he faced their bed. Sophie was behind him, standing beside the door.

Sophie’s question was brash. But Axel liked it that way. He preferred it if she has the energy to threw questions at him. She had been ignoring him since the day they fought, so having her initiate the conversation was a good start. It meant she also wanted to settle this.

Though, Axel’s plan to end this was definitely not the same as hers.

“They were held captives before I brought them here.” Axel responded to Sophie’s question. “I mistaken them as my enemies.”

“Mistaken? You wouldn’t have mistaken it should you asked first.”

Sophie totally sounded like a mother who was scolding her stubborn child. Maybe, if this happened one to two years earlier, he would’ve shut Sophie down. Because even when he was together with Rebecca, he hated getting scolded. He hated her nagging.

“ already made it up to them, Sophie. Besides, there was no point in arguing over something that had already happened.” Axel turned around to face Sophie. He walked, closing their gap, and reach her soft hand. “I know that you’re still mad at me.”

Sophie narrowed her eyes on him. Still, she didn’t take her hand back. That made Axel smile from the inside. He assumed it was because Sophie was missing him, too. As much as he did. Axel’s eyes reflected affection. He planted a kiss on the back of her hand.

Her soothing skin smelled like a fruit. His Sophie always smelled so good.

“It’s a surprise that you remember.” Sophie’s tone sounded brazenly.

“What were you doing in the past days that you managed to disregard my feelings?

There it was.

Sophie’s hard feelings were showing. For the past days she kept ignoring him, she was also waiting. It was contradicting, but even after giving him her cold shoulders, she wanted him to talk.

Why did he do that? Why did he keep hiding things from her? Why can’t he be honest?

Sophie was getting fed up. The first one was manageable, and she let it passed since he apologized, thinking there won’t be a second one. But she was disappointingly wrong.

“I figured you would need time to––“

“Did you know how many times I asked myself if I was still important enough to sleep beside you?” Sophie’s tone was low. “Did you know how many times I compared myself to Rebecca, thinking you’re still not over her?”

“What?” Axel’s brow formed a line. “I am over her, Sophie. I made you my Queen––“

“And wasn’t it because you wanted to get her back?”

Axel’s grip on Sophie’s hand loosened a bit. He was aware of how sad the past days had made her feel, but Axel never realized it got this worst. He didn’t think it would go as far as questioning her worth to him. Because Sophie had always been an important female wolf. Despite being an Omega, she was different to him.

“I apologize for making you feel discarded.” Axel’s jaw tauted. He took a step-forward, and pulled Sophie into a hug. “I’m sorry for making it worse by not talking to you. I didn’t realize I was already hurting you in a way that you’d think you were a replacement.”

“Am I not?”

“No, Sophie.”

Sophie closed his eyes. Axel’s no sounded good to her ears. A one syllable word that was so powerful enough to shake off the heaviness in her chest. Now, feeling his warmth in their position made her feel at ease. She longed for this. She wanted this.

The way Axel can make her feel certain things still enticed her. One mistake and she would go disarray. One apology and all her doubts would falter. She didn’t know if it was communicated that helped, or it was simply because she loved him too much. But either way, despite not having all her questions answered, she felt… secured.

Sophie used both her hands to hugged Axel back. She missed the feeling of his warmth. The feeling of caressing his back. She missed all of him.

“Can you promise not to do it again?”

“Hmm?”

“Not to hide anything, Axel. I don’t want you hiding things from me. It makes me uncomfortable. Especially when it involved Rebecca.”

“When does this promise takes effect?”

“Right now.”

“Right now?”

“Why? Is there something else you’re hiding?” Sophie looked up to him. “Tell me the truth.”

There was none. In all honesty, there was nothing else he was hiding. Axel was just a little concern that Sophie might feel more uncomfortable if she was to hear Rebecca’s action. She just said she compared herself to her, didn’t she?

“No…” Axel pulled out from the hug. He put his hands on her waist, and looked down on her. “There’s nothing else, Sophie.”

“You gotta make sure.”

Axel smirked. Her Luna was getting more quirky. Or was it because he was just becoming submissive?

“You sounded like I’d receive some punishment if I do.” Axel held Sophie’s chin. His eyes trailed down to her lips, in which he missed not kissing for days.

Sophie’s lips pursed. “If you want to kiss me, just do it.”

“Gutsy,” Axel commented, smiling, before claiming her lips.

Axel’s soft lips crashed to Sophie’s, ending the seemingly frisky conversation that they both knew would eventually end up to Pillow talk. The sensual interaction was inevitable. They both missed each other. They were thirsty. Both driven by intoxication and lust starvation. Sophie wasn’t even surprise when she felt his hand on her brassiere, removing the lock.

“Did you even lock the door?” Sophie spoke in between their kisses.

Alpha took a swift break from kissing her neck. He shamelessly removed Sophie’s brassiere to throw it somewhere around the bed. “I did.”

Sophie groaned, deciphering her intention from the beginning.
