Bas***d son of an alpha king Chapter 22

Kyle's POV

My entire thinking faculty was a mess after I got back from Richard's room, I was not in any way surprised by Richard's attitude, but what terrified me most was why the queen was so desperate to get me mated to Richard.

All werewolves are destined to meet with the one that the moon goddess has chosen for them. The chances of not getting a mate are most unlikely unless of course if that individual is cursed or under a family spell.

I also noticed that her interest in me picked after being told that I was a witch. what will happen If I don't turn out to be a witch, would she still want me for her son?

Another issue that made me restless was the fact that I couldn't help but think of the bastard, he seems to have taken over my mind. Aside from the fact that I have been trying my best not to go sneak up and have a glimpse of him, I cant seem to think without him infiltrating my thoughts.

I think I am going insane.

Like, why would I even be thinking of him like that? We are so different in many ways. I'm sure he does not even think Of me in that manner. But the truth is that the more I try to keep him out of my mind, the stronger it becomes, or perhaps he has cast a spell on me as payback, what am I even thinking about?

How did my life get so completed, from a little naive teenager to a grown woman who is confused about her emotions?

The morning was very slow to come and that might be because I spent the better part of it awake. When I checked the time and it was 4:30 am, the maids and servants usually get up by six in the morning, which means that it would be a good time to leave.

I can't afford the Queen seeing me here in the morning, if I haven't known anything about Richard, I know for a fact that he will be going to his mother to tell her all that transpired between us last night and that is the more reason I must be out of here before anyone notices the fact that I am gone for good

It was still very early in the morning as I quickly arranged the pillows to make it look like I was sleeping. After which I came out and tried avoiding coming in contact with the guards and servants and most importantly Marian, my assigned personal maid.

I will miss her a lot, but not to worry I can always come back to sneak around.

When I got out of the palace, I took a not-so-busy path out of the pack. I knew the path was very dangerous but being that I was sure of not seeing too much movement on that route, I opted for it.

I was halfway through the path when I saw two people who appeared dead on the road. I raced down to where they were and found out that just one of them was dead.

Their face and body were badly burned.

There was a lot of wolfsbane pant smell everywhere around, it looked like the job of a werewolf hunter. They are mostly the ones that go around with wolf's bane plant as if it's their finest treasure.

Rolls eyes.

Good thing my mother got me immune against the wolf's bane. But the hunters mostly hunt the bad ones, why would they hurt these, what did they do.

The other one that was alive was growling in pain, he was the most afflicted one. I could hear him growl in pain as I got closer to him. My heart broke at the amount of pain he was going through. And from the look of things, it was as if they were been left to be devoted by wild animals.

I could just leave him there and pretend not to care, after all, I do not know the type of havoc he might have committed. But, will I be able to live with myself knowing that I let him die when I should have helped him.

Sighs deeply.

He may be a monster for all I care, but I am not going to let him die, not when I know that my mother can help him. I walked towards him, he was breathing slowly, I bent down to talk softly to the person's ears.

"please you have to help me, you have to try to stand up and climb on me once I shift to my wolf," I said, as I move aside.

I knew there was no way I could carry the person in my human form, he was far larger than I was, but I  could carry them once I shift to my wolf form. I took off my clothes and shifted hoping he heard my voice and try to lift himself off the floor. As I got closer to him, I saw him struggle to stand up and I aided him on. he finally got on top of me.

God! What has he been eating? His weight was massive, a good thing it's my wolf carrying him.

"Hold on tight," I said as I moved with all my strength not letting the weight of the person I was carrying slow me down. I knew the sooner I got to my mother, the more his chances of surviving.

As if on the clue, my mother came out of the house carrying a basket of portions I think she might have prepared for her customers, but as soon as she sees me, she drops the basket and walks towards me hurriedly.

She shot me an angry look before returning her gaze to the body I had carefully placed on the floor.

“Where did you see him,” she asked as she observes the body closely.

“On my way to see you,” I said quietly, I was not sure she understood me as I was still in my wolf form.

She looked at me and I could tell she had so much to say but now was not the time. She did some recitation in Latin and the body started floating to the house.

Really?

Like how come I don't know that magic spell? It would have been so much easier transporting him here. My back still hurts like hell.

When we finally got inside our house, and mum cleared the dinner table and carefully placed him there. I left them to go to my room where I shifted back to my human form.

It felt good to be back home, as looked for a piece of dress to put on, after which, I ran to quickly go help my mother with what she needed to help save the stranger.

As soon as I got to the sitting room, I saw my mother looking like someone in a trance.

"Are you alright mum?" I asked as I walked up to her. She turned and looked at me with worry written all over her face.

"Where did you say you saw him,” she asked She asked as she fixed her eyes on the wounded stranger.

"Mum, I don't think that is important for now, let's just treat him," I said as I looked at the stranger burns which seem to be healing fast.

Now that is strange.

I know werewolves heal fast, but not this super-fast, considering the amount of burnt he had.

" He does not need treatment," my mother said staring at the stranger,

"How do you mean,?" I asked, puzzled by what my mother was saying and her reluctance to treat the stranger.

"Because he is my son," She said, as I watched tears drop from my mum's eyes.
