Betide to Love You Chapter 19

Candice POV:-

‘Everything is going beautifully well in my life, I never thought my fragmented fate would be so flawless.’

“I can’t believe my fate.” It was a mesmerizing symphony intertwining my heart with Tyler and I want to entangle myself in it more.

“I am happy for you.” Rufus replied as we were on call.

“I have no intention of breaking this unrealistic life of mine- filled with immense love.” I chuckled.

“I hope no one steals this from you.” He said sincerely. How the winds of love are swaying me and blinding me in the sight of adoration, going in the depths of endearment.

“I never thought my life would take such an unexpectedly arresting turn. What a turn my life has taken, I have become his after breaking my bonds with the world. I don’t know where this story of love left me but it has become my salvation.” I chuckled, not knowing what nonsense I have been spouting.

‘Ah, ever since our kiss. Everything seems so perfect.’

But, in the midst of an accidental bond forged with undying love, a horror lingers in my heart.

“But. I am scared..” I confessed. The fright of Father’s words which take me to the depth of the abyss.

“Why?”

“What kind of father blackmails his own daughter. I mean , I am his daughter- why is he doing this to me? Why does he want to shatter this tiny shred of hope I have received after all these years?” I asked sadly, lowering my head, biting my lips.

“Lust for money has blinded him.” He sighed.

“Taking Nicolas away wasn’t enough that he wants to take Tyler away from me as well.” My voice broke. I am stuck in an undesirable situation, I am on a thin rope which cannot bear my weight and my one action could cause it to break apart.

“I wish I could do anything for you.” He said sadly.

“Leave it. That man is incurable.” I sighed deeply and moved my head back, pulling my hair in frustration. I closed my eyes, trying to think of a way to get out of this upheaval.

“Yeah.” My thoughts came to a halt when I heard the sound of the door opening.

“Oh, Rufus. Tyler’s home. I will talk to you later. Bye.” I said, my face lit up in immense glee.

“I am glad to see you happy.” He smiled as I cut the call and turned my head and saw Tyler. My devilishly handsome husband.

“Why did you cut the call?” He asked, arching a brow but teasing him. I flashed him a bright smile and stood up.

“Because when you are here, I want to give all my attention to you.” I whispered, walking to him.

“Welcome home.” I said sweetly.

“Thanks.” He smiled back.

“You are early.” I said.

“Yeah. We are going.” He said.

“Where?” I asked.

“To a business party. It’s important, we have to attend it.” He said, walking close to me.

“I don’t think I will fit in there, Tyler. I don’t want to go. I will be intimidated by the lavish party.” I exclaimed my worry.

“Candice. You don’t have to worry, I am here.” He tried to assure me by giving my shoulders a gentle squeeze.

“I don’t-” He cut me off.

“It’s okay. You have to.” His low voice came calm. I bit my bottom lip nervously and gave him a nod.

His smile grew wide as he kissed my forehead. “Good. The stylist arrived with the dress.” He informed me.

My eyes went wide for a second, “Tyler, don’t overdo.” I frowned.

“I am not. Get ready.” He smiled and let the stylist come and he left me alone with them.

Tyler brought a green mermaid gown adorn with a belt in the middle, it was simple yet elegant at the same time. The grace suited me well in accordance with my looks and I love it.

They also applied makeup in its complexion, I looked overall pretty. He knew what is best for me, it is neither too much nor too less so it could disgrace him.

“Tyler.” I took a deep breath and walked out and saw Tyler, looking spellbinding as usual in his supreme form. The fact he doesn’t wear a tie and open a few buttons of his shirt made him look more bewitching.

I bashfully lowered my gaze and stopped in front of him, “How do I look?” I asked faintly.

I slowly raised my gaze and met his affectionate one, looking at me with a smile. He brushed his fingers on the side of my face tenderly.

“A queen. ‘My’ Queen.” My heart skipped a beat when he called me ‘My Queen’, it somehow gave me some eerie satisfaction. I mumbled a ‘thank you’ and smiled slyly.

“Sounds perfect, don’t you think?” His fingers moved under my chin and lifted it, making me look at him.

“Yes.” I stared at his aesthetically pleasing features, embedding this sensation of love in my core.

Tyler slowly leaned in for a kiss but I turned my head away, “The lipstick will leave its mark.” I said, looking away.

“Then let it. Everyone should know that I am yours and you are mine.” He said huskily, brushing his lips against mine.

I held the lapel of his coat and turned my head away a little, “Don’t.” I tried to say firmly but failed because I know I want him to kiss me.

Complying to my words, he moved to my neck and hummed.

“Love, don’t resist me, I know you want me too.” The sound sends shivers down my spine, making me feel strangely beautiful.

“Then don’t test me.” I giggled. He gave me a soft kiss on the neck and pulled away. He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me close as we left.

We reached the magnificent party, filled with great figures of the business world. It strained me to be between the people I used to serve.

“It’s okay.” My grip on Tyler’s hand tightened a bit. On the way, Tyler told me what to do but still I am scared. My heart thumped against my chest.

“I am nervous as hell.” I breathed out.

“Don’t be. No one can question my wife. All of this is beneath you.”

Tyler introduced me to a few of his partners, they all were surprised to know about our marriage.

God the looks they gave me, how can someone with such low standards as me be his wife.

I nibbled on my bottom lip and rubbed my palm together.

“Candice, She is my business partner Milli.” He introduced me to her.

“Hello.” I flashed a polite smile.

We shook hands and she said, “Hey, Candice.” I shook hands with her.

“Well it’s rare to see you at a party with a girl, Tyler. Don’t tell me-” He cut her off.

“She is my wife.” Her jaw dropped upon hearing it.

“You got married? and with ‘Her’?” She said in a contemptible way. I narrowed my eyes in irk, not liking the way she talked.

“Yes. I am married and what do you mean by her?” He asked seriously.

“I never thought you would get married so unexpectedly… She doesn’t seem like your type.” She mocked.

“And good his type of girls gave him, huh?” I shrugged, standing beside Tyler.

“In the end, ‘I’ became his wife.”
