"It's Izzy." I said worried.
She frowns in concern, "What's is it?"
"She's in heat. All the unmated males are gonna want her. They won't have any control over their actions at all. They probably won't even remember what happened."
"But I thought you've already..."
"Yes we have, but I think that she goes into heat one last time when the blood moon shines. It's a sign of her end as a single female."
My mother went pale, "She could get raped Xander!"
I deep, ancient and threatening growl echoes from my chest, "I'm not gonna let that happen. They're not going to fucking touch her."
Suddenly, every thing is quiet. All the unmated men turn towards the opened door. A breeze sets. I close my eyes and breath in the scent. Elizabeth.
"Xander!" I hear her scream.
All the men run after her. She sprints back outside. I push through the men. I am so frantic and panicked to get to her. I'm not going to be fast enough with this big of a crowd stomping through.
I shift into my wolf. The only way to get to her fast enough is to totally surrender to my wolf. I've never done this before. Some people say that you don't come back from a full wolf surrender.
I let my wolf take over. I feel myself physically get bigger, stronger and I feel a bigger presence of authority. My wolf grows
They're not touching my fucking mate.
We sprint after Elizabeth.
ELIZABETH'S POV
I am running away from a crowd of men who want to have sex with me. Who knew it would come down to this?
I run deeper and deeper into the trees until everything seem to get thicker like a Forrest.
The ground rumbled like a stampede of wild animals. Please don't let anything happen to me.
I didn't see a root of a tree stuck up. I trip over it and fall down to the ground.
The men drop down all around me and start to try and rip my dress. I kicked and punched everything that touched me.
"No please stop! no no...NNNOOOOO!!!!!" I scream to the top of my lungs.
Suddenly all the touching and gripping stop.
I see a HUGE wolf in front of me. It was a boundary between me and the men.
Who is this wolf? I don't recognise it at all. It started to shift back to human.
XANDER!? His wolf looked so much more bigger.
He puts on his black basketball shorts.
"Stand down men!" He yells.
All the men's eyes were on me
Xander turns to me. He sees me and how I am. His eyes darken with a burning rage.
He pulls me up against him so than no one could see me. His arms come around me protectively, "She is your Luna and if you value your lives you will leave."
One of the young men jumped in the air and shifted. Xander pushes me behind him, grabbed the wolf in mid air and threw him against a tree, instantly knocking him out.
"I said," he growls in his commanding alpha voice, "LEAVE!"
All of them bow their heads. Their eyes go back to normal as if they're taking hold of their human side. And they leave.
Xander turns to me, still shaking in pure rage.
He holds me tightly against him, "How dare they touch you. You're mine. My pure moon. Are you hurt sweetheart?"
His eyes travels over my body, checking for any injuries. I cup his face, pulling his gaze to my own, "I'm okay."
His forehead touches mine, "I thought I was too late."
I smiled shakily,"I had faith that you would find me eventually."
"How?"
"You said so yourself," I whisper, "You'd always find me."
He smiles down at me with such love and adoration, "Damn right I will. Come on, let's find somewhere to stay for a while before the rain starts."
I frown, "What rain?"
Right then it starts to pour down, drenching us both.
Xander laughs, "That rain."
I climb into his back and he runs through the forest, trying to find us some shelter.
After a while we finally come to a cave.
We walk inside. Xander lays me down on the ground.
I cover myself with my arms as he finds some dried wood in the cave. He lights a fire. He sits down, spreads his thighs and pats the spot between his legs.
I go to him and sit down. He wraps his arms around, instantly warming me.
"Are you okay?" Xander asks.
I nod, "Yeah, I think so."
"That doesn't sound very convincing."
I sigh, "I guess I'm just a little...shaken."
"I should have known you were in heat. I thought it was just me, but I-"
I turn to face my mate, "Ssshhh. You're doing it again."
"Doing what?"
"Blaming yourself for not being able to control the uncontrollable."
He chuckles without humor, "I guess old habits die hard huh?"
I smile and nod. We fall into a comfortable silence. With my finger I trace all of the scars on his body. Some were thick and pink , some were white and shallow. But all of them hold a memory of pain. And yet they hold such perfection at the same time. Because they are what make him my Xander.
"Look...I know my body is scarred and isn't the most attractive or perfect-"
"Everyone has different views of perfection. My mother used to say, 'perfection lies in the eyes that hold love."
Xander's eyes held adoration as he said, "You always have something to say. It's going to be impossible to argue with you. May the moon goddess help me if our daughters are like you."
I laugh, "You're going to be a lucky man if there's going to be little Minnie me's running around."
He rolls his eyes sarcastically, "Lucky, right. They're gonna have me wrapped around their little fingers just like their mama does."
"That's right."
I smack my lips against him. Xander pulls me onto his lap, making me straddle him. I knew the moisturising paid off! We both made nice and slow love to each other. four times to be exact actually.
And then Xander held me in his arms, making me feel safe and at peace.
I wake up with a sore back. Damn my bed is hard. I sit up and raise my arms to twist and stretch, trying to get more awake. I look around. What in the hell am I doing in a cave? I turn to my right and see a naked Xander. I look down at myself, seeing my naked self. Then the very eventful day yesterday came to mind. And what happened last night just made me straight out blush.
"You're cute when you blush." I hear Xander's voice that is still ridden with sleep. So fucking sexy.
"That's because you're the cause of it."
He chuckles sleepily, "True."
He gets up, naked and all, but before he walks he stills. I think he's being mind linked to someone?
A moment later, Xander is back to normal.
"God damn it." He curses softly.
He turns around fully naked. I ignore his...area and just stared at his face.
"My father just mind linked me. We have a little trouble back at the pack house."
I frown, "What trouble?"
"The father and daughter of that pack are here to see us. The daughter that I was planning to marry if I didn't find my mate in time."
My heart beats with anger at the thought if him with another woman. If anyone touches him, I would snatch her back so fast, that she wouldn't even have time to comprehend what just happened before I rip her hair out of her empty skull.
I hear Xander's deep chuckle, "Don't worry Sweetheart, I'm yours. Just remember that now Okay? When we go see them don't attack her right there and then."
"What would be so wrong with that?" I mumble to myself.
Xander smiles down at me, "I personally wouldn't have a problem. It's just whatever we do reflects off the pack. We don't want to make our people look bad, now do we?"
I sigh dramatically, "No!"
I make my way out of the cave, "Let's go and see them shall we."
I stop walking when I hear Xander clear his throat, "Honey, you're still naked."
I look down, "So I am."
He laughs, "As much as I love looking at your ass. You gotta cover up."
I waited in the cave while Xander went out to get our clothes.
Once we were all dressed and ready, we made our way to the pack house. We got some business to take care of.
We walk back to the pack house hand in hand. I hear shouting and whining coming from inside. Well, this is going to be interesting. When we walk inside, there are Xander's parents, Zapora, Soul, and Noah. They are arguing with a big man, who I'm assuming is the alpha.
"Hello Alpha Kendrick. How may I help you?" Xander asks nonchalantly.
Kendrick's eyes land on me. They turn into a cold glare. I glare back. We stare at each other until he looks back at Xander.
I win!
"You have a word to honour Xander!" He growls.
Xander shrugs, "No I don't. I've found my true mate. I cannot be with anyone else but her."
"Your date was set," He snarls, "You found your little mate past that due date! So now you have to honour our agreement, or there will be war."
"Father let him be with his mate."
A woman says as she steps out from behind the man. I look her. She must be Kendrick's daughter. She's beautiful. She has fair skin, straight blonde hair and bright blue eyes.
"He would be miserable with me Papa. Let Alpha Nightwalker be with his destined woman." Okay maybe she isn't so bad?
"Shut up!" Kendrick growls.
I was surprised when I heard him speak to his daughter in that way. I thought I wouldn't like her when I saw her, but now that I have, I felt sorry for her. I stepped forward without thinking,"Don't talk to your daughter like that." I growl.
Kendrick's wild eyes turn to me, "You are beneath me you little wench. Go back to the kitchen and make me some food huh?" He says mockingly.
Xander steps towards Kendrick and snarls, "Do not talk to my Luna like that. You come here into my home. You argue with my family. You demand ME to honour our agreement, which I already have. And then you insult my Luna. You're stepping on the edge, Kendrick. You're askin for it."
Kendricks crazy eyes seem to widen in disbelief, "How dare you! I am your senior!" He shouted.
"Well maybe that old mind of yours has addled your brain. Xander is my mate. If your old brain can't understand that, that means that he's mine. Not your daughters or anyone else's for that matter. So you can pack up get your old saggy ass out of the territory." I snapped.
Kendrick looks at me in shock. Shit! Why didn't you keep your mouth shut Izzy! I nervously looks at my mate, hoping he won't be red with anger. Instead I found Xander looking at me with pride.
"How dare you! You little bitc-"
"You don't want to finish that sentence Kendrick." Xander growls. He walks up the alpha, nose to nose. The air was completely drenched in tension. He snarls. "You heard my mate, get off our territory."
"But we need this alliance! I need you as a back up! I have a war on my hands and I don't want to have one with you!"
"Well I don't want to marry your daughter. No offence Sophie, I'm sure you're a lovely girl."
She smiles, "No offence taken."
"I DEMAND AN ALLIANCE XANDER!"
Xander grabs Kendrick by the collar of his shirt and slams him against the wall, "Don't EVER speak to me like that again!"
They're both arguing and telling each other about wanting the alliance but then n0t wanting it.
"I'll marry her." A voice rises above all the others.
We all turn to where the voice came from.....Wtf!!! NOAH??
"I'll marry her. I am the beta. If anything should have happened to Xander I would become alpha. So, I am practically an alpha and is fit to lead a pack. I'll marry Sophie...for the alliance."
Everyone is silent for a moment. I look at Sophie. I see she fears Noah. Who wouldn't? He's like a beast! Not that she should know that.
Xander walks up to Noah and holds his shoulders, "Are you sure man? I'm not asking you to do this for me."
"I'm doing it for my pack...besides, Keith needs a mother." Noah said, void of any emotions.
"If you feel it's right." Xander says hesitantly.
Noah nods, "It's right."
My mate nods in understanding. "We will unite out packs through the marriage of my beta and your daughter. Is that satisfactory for you Kendrick?"
The old alpha looks at Noah up and down. He nods in approval.
"Yes, yes this is good. I like this."
"I have a condition." Noah's says. "I want to stay here until my Luna is securely safe."
A spark of warmth rises in my chest by Noah's request. He really does like me!
Kendrick nods, "I can agree to that. You contact me and the come to our pack once the Luna is safe."
Noah nods. "I will." He the leaves abruptly and slams the door.
Sophie jumps at the sound.
Xander sighs, "Then it's settled. Noah should be the Alpha of your pack by Fall next year."
