Blue's POV
I got home quite late because the cab man had to drop Zara home first.
I met everyone at home and I was welcomed by mom.
"Hey you're back" Chelsea said with her attention on her phone.
They were all seated in the living room and the TV was switched on.
"Is there a problem?" I asked with awe.
"No.. we were just awaiting your arrival" Mom replied.
"It's time for dinner so go freshen up and come downstairs for dinner" Mom instructed and I nodded.
I left ... Kaycee and Dad didn't say anything.. I know something happened.
It seems Kay and Dad had an argument but what about?
I went straight to my room and recalled everything that happened today.
"My life as a normal high school girl changed within the twinkle of an eye... I've always thought about spending my life with my family and the ones that I love .. going to college..graduating, getting married ,having kids.." I thought and chuckled at my crazy thoughts.
I wonder if my life will ever go back to how it was before..
First Ivy, then Zara and now this Kuda.
This is something I should tell my mom.. my family should be aware of this but now I'm solving this myself... This is not right?.
I have to speak to Alondra and Pearl tomorrow and the whole truth must come out.
I took my bath and dressed simple.. I went downstairs for breakfast and the atmosphere had changed..
They had smiles all over their faces.. It seems everyone is finally getting along.
I had dinner and retired to my room immediately...
I did my homework for about 30 mins and I sat on the bed unable to sleep.
I looked at my legs and shook my head... Who would have thought that the life of an ordinary person will change like this... Few hours ago I had a tail and now legs.
It's like I'm a mixture of both Human and Mermaid.
Hmm .... A Mer-Human .
This is crazy.. I thought and chuckled.
My door opened ajar with a slight noise that drew my attention.
Mom??!
"Mom!" I called and I adjusted properly on the bed.
"What happened dear?... Last time you were awake till this time ,it was Zara's issue now what's the problem?" She asked calmly and sat on the bed with me as I placed my head on her chest.
"No mum, Zara's fine.." I replied.
"Then why are you still up?" She asked and caressed my hair.
"Mom" I called and paused.
" Do you know anything about mermaids?" I asked and raised my head.
The expression on her face was unexplainable... It was different.
"Wh...why are you asking this?" She stuttered.
"Have you seen one?" She asked with awe.
"No not exactly ... It just crossed my mind some time ago so I thought of asking you" I replied and bit my lower lips.
She breathed out and I sighed.
"Let me tell you a story" she suggested and I blinked repeatedly.
Is it a Mermaid story?
"My grandma once told me a story about a mermaid kingdom called Ayroway cove." She said and my eyes beamed.
"Do you wanna hear it?" She asked and I nodded excitedly.
I placed my head on her chest and drew close to her.
"She said deep down in the sea is another kingdom filled with different creatures.
"Mermaids are ruled by the Goddess of the seven seas.. only royalty and warriors are rewarded with gifts in the form of necklaces, Combs and bracelets.
"It's a world filled with extreme power and blessings that even humans sometimes ask for help from them... The royals are kept in special Chambers while the people live around just like us"
"The royals and warriors are with different unique gifts and they use it for defense but many years ago the underwater kingdom was taken over by an evil mistress that makes the people feel burdened and makes the rich and royal feel powerful".
Wow!!.. This story is just like what Alondra said about how royals are different from the civilians... it's like there's no equality there anymore.
"So a once peaceful kingdom is now a place of unsecured and territorial attacks... They are still waiting for someone .. one brave person to stand out of the fearful crowd and lead the people to greatness and a better life" she concluded and breathed out.
"Wow...come you know so much!!.. but have you seen one before?" I asked.
"Yes" She replied and then shook her negatively.
"I mean no" she said and shook her head restlessly.
What's wrong with Mom??
"Blue go to sleep okay?" She complied and laid on the bed properly and she used the duvet to cover me.
"Goodnight" she said and pecked my forehead.
"Goodnight" I replied and she shut the door behind her.
UNDERWORLD
Mona's POV
It's past bedtime but I still didn't feel sleepy ... What Melissa told me still rings in my ear.
I was in my chamber and then a knock came on the door..
Huh!! Who is it by this time?
"Who is it?" I asked almost in a whisper.
"It's me Melissa" she replied in a whisper too.
I opened the Pearl shaped door and let her in.
"What are you doing here?" I asked agape.
" Blue..her name is Blue" she said.
" What is Blue?" I asked her as we sat on the smooth rock surface ... Well humans call it bed.
"The real question is who exactly is Blue," she replied.
"That doesn't answer my question, you know... If aunt should come peeping in our rooms what would you say?" I asked uncomfortably.
"That girl I and my escorts saw ..her name is Blue" Melissa said.
"Blue .. what a nice name!" I said slowly.
"We can't let her wander in the human world without her knowing who she is," Melissa said.
"But how do you know her name?" I asked.
"Spells" she said with style and I rolled my eyes.
"I already said we'll talk in a secret place... We can't discuss this kind of issue here… You know what Aunt always says.. *Even the walls have ears*" I said and swam around the room.
"Why don't we pay this Blue a visit" I said and smiled.
"Melissa is in" she said playfully and hugged me.
"First thing tomorrow morning and we'll have to be quick okay?" I said.
"Yes sure... It's been so long we had an adventure.. it's gonna be fun" she said and smiled with her teeths wide open.
"Now go to bed... We have another big day ahead of us" I said and we left .
She's so happy.. too bad we don't have freedom in this kingdom ever since Aunt became queen.
Blue's POV
I got up early and arranged for school quickly.
I took my breakfast and went to school with my siblings.
We stepped down and stranger mode began.
I went straight to my locker and sighted Zara coming.. it's quite early so lectures are not starting anytime soon.
She exchanged lockers with Maya..
"Hey bestie" I hailed and hugged her.
"Hey Mermaid" she said almost in a whisper.
"Hey don't say that out " I reprimanded and we both laughed.
"I missed you so much Zara.. so this Saturday I thought of hanging out with you .. let's go to the zoo" I suggested and she gasped.
"Oh Blue ... that'd be amazing" she complimented with smiles .
Actually the zoo used to be my and Zara's favorite place when we were kids.
"Hey girls" someone greeted us coldly and we turned.
Pearl!!
"Yes, what do you want?" I asked.
"Alondra wants to speak to us about something" she said and I shook my head.
Well Zara said I should give them a chance so that's exactly what I'm gonna do .
"Zara when you get your locker back I'll speak more on the case" I assured and she nodded.
I left the office and Pearl trailed behind me.
"I see you've told her everything" Pearl stated as we walked down to Alondra's office.
"So what?.. see Pearl there's nothing more to our relationship so stop acting friendly.. there's nothing anymore" I said and walked faster to keep my distance from her.
I got to Alondra's office and barged in and sat on the bed.
Pearl walked in as well but we didn't talk.
"Blue..I know you have a lot of questions so pls ask any" Ally said.
"I don't know who Kuda is but I'm definitely helping her until you tell me the reason why I shouldn't" I said with a straight face and she breathed out "Okay!"
"Kuda was my friend... She was a good friend my very good bestie, just like you and Zara.. we also had plans together that when we grow up we'd attend the same schoo and graduate as guardiansl"
"Those days we weren't able to get close to the royals.. royals were very rare to see.. so we had dreams to meet one and even teach them..it was a great honor to be with the royals and warriors too.. they were given special treatment and all we
Ordinary people have our dreams."
Just like a great grandma story about mermaids.
"Kuda grew fond of the royals in guardian school and the power went into her head ... She used a royal to almost place a curse on the kingdom because she had so much knowledge on powers and how that works... I needed to stop her and the only way was to send her to Limbo..
"Ally and Kuda best friends?" I asked and scoffed.
"We have to stop Kuda because if she gets her hand on your mind .. you won't be able to control yourself" Ally said .
Kuda has to go.
Kuda .. I can't believe she's evil and I've loved that foolish woman.
I have to be careful with things now because Kuda is selfish and cunning.
"I'm so sorry Ally.. Pearl" I called and hugged them.
