CHAPTERS 101
ALPHA LINCOLN'S POV
Night has covered and still Montana has not returned. I just kept feeling like something was not right, and I have called her line several times but kept saying switch off, not reachable.
I wanted to deceive myself by saying, maybe she is getting numerous things, but no, I had a feeling that something was not right.
Not only that, but I could not feel my mate.
"Victoria, try calling her," I told Victoria, pacing around the room worriedly.
"I have, same thing."
I closed my eyes and sighed.
"Sean," I said through the pack's link, my hands were vibrating from anger, not sure if I could use them properly now without breaking something.
"Evening, Lincoln."
"She is missing, I am not quite sure, but it just does not add up, she is not back yet, her phone is unreachable. Find her…gather up the best trackers we have, I will meet you all outside", I passed the order.
"On it!", he replied, and we cut the link off.
I picked up my jacket and left, but before I did, I gave Victoria serious instructions to make sure the kids were safe, plus Montana's Aunty was here.
I was in a rush to find Montana, so I would tell her Aunty when I was back or Victoria can.
I feared for my love. Throughout, While we searched for her, I prayed in my heart and mind that she was okay and unharmed.
I prayed we would find her, but we did not find her, she was nowhere to be seen. I had even asked some people in shops if they had seen her.
One of them said she bought something and left, and that was the last time she had seen Montana in her shop.
It became more suspicious. Montana should have been back by now.
"Any sign?", I asked through the pack link, reaching to everyone who was with me in finding their Luna.
We splitted up to make it easy.
I just kept getting the response, "None, none. No sign of her, nothing Alpha, etc."
I grunted and growled as I walked back into my house, breaking the nearest thing that was close to me.
"Brother, relax, we will find her", Victoria walked up to me and said while I paced around trying to relax my breathing.
"Find her? There was nothing, no clue, a lady saw her buy something and leave. That was the only information that I got that Information would not even get me anywhere in finding Montana", my voice tinged with anger and pain, each word laced with bitterness and frustration.
"Find a strand of her hair from her hairbrush or bring a toothbrush for me", Aunt Calista said to me.
I did not waste much time, I went back to our room, found Montana's hairbrush, hoping for a strand, which I found. In fact, I packed everything there and came back downstairs.
Handing it over to Aunt Calista, "What are you going to do with that?", I asked her as we all followed her to the sitting room.
The kids were worried, no doubt, but I had sent them away to their room to occupy their minds for now and will tell them any news I could. Did not want to stress them further.
"I want to conduct a locator spell to find her", she imparted to me, and I nodded.
Okay, that is a good second plan since my first plan for search yielded no fruit.
I watched Aunt Calista as she brought out a detailed map, next a black sand, a candle which was dark purple, a small bowl and lastly Montana's strand of hair.
"Is there anything I can help with?"
"No, no, do not worry, I should do these myself since I know how too and if I need your help I will let you know," she said to me and I nodded, letting her proceed with no disturbance.
I watched as she laid the map, flat out, on the table and then placed the candle in the center of the map and lit it.
She spoke some words, "Spirit, guide my steps and help me find what I seek."
She then proceeded to pour the black sand in the middle of the map and around it. Furthermore, she explained that the one around the map was for protection and containment.
It was what would guide her spell. It was not time for her to use Montana's strand of hair, and she did, placing them in the center of the map, on top of the black sand.
"psery", Aunt Calista said, and that strand disappeared. It was as if it had turned into part of the black sand, like melt or something, but it was definitely a part of that black sand now.
Aunt Calista packed some more black sand in her hand and began sprinkling the black sand onto the map while saying something, her incantations, "ishida ista la ni'ri!"
I noticed that when she closed her eyes and repeated those same words, the black sand glowed softly, and the candlelight flamed up more than it already was.
"Maya adeia, Maya ni...na'shi kora, adeia sora", Aunt Calista chanted and soon stopped the sprinkling, opening her eyes back up, everything settling down a bit until she uttered, "Mana'sha, Mana'sha."
Immediately the sand started moving, it swirled around the map, twisting and turning, slowly zeroing in on the location of where Montana could be. That is what I thought it was doing.
I had a serious look on my face as we all watched the sand on the map move.
But as the sand began to slow down, I watched Aunt Calista's brow furrow. And suddenly, the sand stopped moving.
"What is it?", I asked immediately, "why did it stop? Did it find her? Where?"
"It stopped at a space", Aunt Calista said, a little bit of anger noticeable in her voice, "we just have to find another way to locate her."
I rubbed my face. I didn't even know if to sigh and scream, like I did not know how to react. I had hoped that this would at least give us some clue, "Well where do we start looking now? How do we know if she is still alive?"
Aunt Calista's response to me was, "We don't."
That was not the response I needed right now, I was about to leave the room when the same Aunt Calista said, "But…"
