CHAPTER 13
ALPHA LINCOLN'S POV
Finally, it was the day of my marriage to Montana Romano. I made sure to invite the people whom I wished to invite including those of the Blue Moon Pack.
"I would have never imagined you would do this for anyone", Sean said as he helped me get ready.
I kept quiet and let him blab as much as he wanted to, "It is very surprising and maybe it is a good thing".
"It is just for a certain period, Sean do not get ahead of yourself. I am still not taken and also this might benefit my pack for a little while till everything is over", I explained to him.
"What if something more was too", Sean tried to suggest.
"Nothing more will happen, so get rid of that idea 'cause I think she is not strong enough to be my Luna. You already know my reasons for doing this unless I will not choose her to stand by my side", I cut him off and arranged my suit, "How do I look?."
"You look good Lincoln, handsome as always, and sometimes, you have to let yourself love. Now let's go", Sean smiled at me and I only nodded cause I wanted no more in this ridiculous conversation.
"Love", I thought and scoffed, "Love makes one weak."
Soon we were at the altar awaiting my bride as all our guests were now here, including those from the Blue Moon Pack.
A little slow music was played as Montana stood at the front of the door as it opened, holding onto my father's arm.
Indeed she looked beautiful, with her white gown, a bit loose but still fitted and decorated with flowers as she walked down the aisle. Her hair flowed freely down her back and she had a small smile on her face.
I also smiled when I saw her walk up to me but then stopped and kept a serious face. Let us not get ahead of ourselves.
MONTANA'S POV
Walking down the aisle, I could not help but let out a small smile I was so close to the altar when my eyes came in contact with that of Luke's and immediately I averted my gaze, only for it to land at Lola's.
"Did they have to be here?", I asked myself, trying not to let them spoil my mood. Mr. Ford, his wife and child, and all of them who despised me were here today.
But I knew they were not here to celebrate with me but rather here to confirm if I had been able to score something as big as this.
Lola gave me a small disgusted look and I eyed her and removed my face. I could hear her gasp of surprise. Serves her right!
Finally, I had reached the altar and Lincoln let out his hand for me as his father gave mine to his. He took my hand and we stood before the altar.
Truth be told these few weeks, almost a month or more have been good and I may have taken a liking to Alpha Lincoln. Yes, I knew I should have not done that and tried to stop my feelings but I could not stop myself and the things and sacrifices he has made for me and my kids made it so much worse to resist.
Although I hid that part away, I knew I was not allowed to show or feel anything for him and that is why I would have to hide whatever I am feeling.
I have tried to forget about it, my feelings but it does not go away but here I am, stuck and getting married. Knowing that I will have to hide this part of me till the contract is over.
Staring up at him as we stood at the altar, he looked so mesmerizing, his eyes, nose, his face. I sighed and shook my head and we proceeded with the vows and speech.
He gave something short and sweet and so did I. So far it was all going well and soon we did the blood-cutting ritual as we gave a small cut on our palm and held those hands together.
"Please welcome our new Luna, Luna Montana Vincintore mated to our Alpha Lincoln Vincintore", and with that announcement, it was done. Howls were made and claps as pack members celebrated us.
"You may now exchange kisses of course", and when I heard that my heart skipped a bit.
Alpha Lincoln had a raised brow and he looked slightly annoyed, "It is okay, we do not have to, I can just bring up a reason why I do not want to", I whispered to him.
"We have to or there might be suspicions", Alpha Lincoln let out a breath and leaned in, while everyone awaited this moment, "Relax and breathe", he said.
I did not realize that I was no longer breathing as I nodded and finally let myself breathe, "He was going to kiss me", I squealed in my mind, as Alpha Lincoln got closer to my lips and now his hand was on my cheek, close to my lips.
"This is it, my first kiss in years and I was glad it would be him", I said in my mind, closing my eyes and leaning towards him too and our lips met.
"Oh", I thought, "that was-", I opened my eyes softly as we both stared at each other, "that was not his lips, he had his thumb in between our mouths to give up the vibe that we were kissing, even though we are not."
I could hear the cheers but I do not think my heart was cheering anymore and soon he withdrew from me and gave a smile to the whole pack as I did the same.
No matter how much I tried to act like I was okay, I was not. I do not know why it had to be like this, "I have something for you", my thoughts were interrupted.
