CHAPTER 20
ALPHA LINCOLN'S POV
I checked my time and it was about nine pm, almost nine pm when I and Sean left my warehouse, after conducting some work stuff.
Today has been one hell of a day and a tiring one too, "Do you want to grab some drinks?", Sean suggested.
"Maybe tomorrow, as of today, I just want to eat, shower, and get a good rest buddy", I patted his back.
"Yeah true, let's go", he agreed with me and the drive home was nice, especially with the fact that I had completed everything I wanted to do for the day.
We reached the pack and I got down and went in, I was not even allowed to feel the welcoming scent of my home when Victoria walked up to me. What's with her and monitoring everything I do?
"Where is Montana?", she asked me.
"Montana, I thought she was with-", and then it dawned on me, "Shit, excuse me", I said and sped and walked to where the dungeon was.
I forgot about her. Oh Moon Goddess, that was not the intention, I just wanted to keep her there for a few hours and then call someone to release her but then I was swarmed with work and meetings that I forgot a lady that I had locked in a dungeon.
"Give me the keys", I ordered one of the guards as he did and I walked up to where Montana's dungeon was.
I saw her lying on the ground, not moving and I panicked, "Montana?????", I called out to her as I quickly opened the gates and rushed to her, picked her up placed her head on my lap, and shook her, "Montana, Montana can you hear me?."
MONTANA'S POV
I had fallen asleep on the floor and now was being woken up by someone screaming my name like I was dead.
Or was I?
I opened my eyes and the first pair of eyes above mine were those that belonged to Alpha Lincoln.
What was he doing here?
Ohhhh....now my memories of everything started coming back, "I heard you loud and clear Alpha", I answered respectfully and flinched away from him when he tried to touch my hair.
"I apologize, I did not mean to leave you here for a long time. I simply forgot you here why being swarmed with work and stuff. Get up, you need a warm shower and food to eat", he said to me surprisingly calm. He did not even inspect the dungeon room as he should he would.
But I was still hurt by the fact that he forgot me. So I did not mean that much to him? But aside from that, it seemed like he cared a little bit about me, or maybe was him being worried that I sensed.
I nodded my head and walked out with him, my legs were a bit wobbly but I could still use them on my own. It was not the first time I would be treated like this but still, that does not mean I enjoyed any of it.
Reaching the Mansion, Victoria was there waiting for me and quickly rushed to me to hug me, "Where have you been? Was worried and tried to call you to tell you how the shopping was going and ask some questions since you were busy with Lincoln", she rambled while rushing to embrace me, her rambling even got me confused, "ouu what is that smell", she paused, not embracing me anymore.
And she sized me up, I knew she would be suspicious and when she looked at Alpha Lincoln, I was sure, she had picked something up.
"Leave it, I am fine", I said to her, "I hope you guys had fun. I will go shower and come back down for dinner", I said softly and excused myself and left as Alpha Lincoln, nodded to me excusing myself.
I could already hear Victoria asking Alpha Lincoln what had happened.
ALPHA LINCOLN'S POV
"What did you do Lincoln? You think I would not notice that something is wrong?", Victoria asked me angrily and sincerely I did not have the energy for this.
"You should leave this, just as Montana had asked you to Victoria, this is between the I and Montana", I warned Victoria. She can be a sweet sister but also a very annoying younger sibling to me.
"She is my friend, my best friend to be precise and I do not want you treating her like someone of no value you said she was busy with you but here you are walking into this place without her by your side and the minute I mention her you run away and come back with my best friend looking like shit. What the fuck is that Lincoln", Victoria yelled and slammed my chest.
"Do. Not. Raise. Your. Voice. At. Me. Victoria", I growled out angrily.
Victoria sighed and whined softly as she looked down and said a soft apology.
I sighed and ruffled her hair but she moved away from my ruffling, "Look, just I do not have to explain myself to you. We all know that as for what happened now just I will handle it myself okay? So please don't worry and I'm sorry for raising my voice at you", I said to her, I may be rude and harsh sometimes but I loved my sister a lot and don't joke with her.
Victoria finally looked up at me and nodded. This time when I ruffled her hair she left me, although with a snarl and I chuckled before going upstairs.
I stopped by Montana's room to check up on her and a few knocks but no one came to open and instead of me getting upset which would have been the next thing I would have done, I retreated to my room.
MONTANA'S POV
I heard the knock on the door but I did not want to see anyone at the moment. I just wanted to be left alone.
This was a very big mansion but still, they managed to make me feel suffocated sometimes.
