Veron sat in the vehicle, staring at Veronica's back. This is the first time she has departed with such zeal and ease. This time, it's better to be truthful. He averted his sight and sat gravely. Suddenly, he reached out his hand and tugged on the tight tie, and his chest felt involuntarily annoyed as she appeared before his eyes.
"Prince, I've put in a lot of effort over the last month." Veronica was staring at him when she stated this, which gave something a different feeling to him.
"Farewell, huh? That's right, and it is the greatest." Veron untied his tie and tossed it on the passenger seat. The driver saw this scenario in his rearview mirror and carefully questioned, "Alpha, are you all right?"
"Yes. Go to Jaxon's pack house to pickup Helene."
Veron is the Scarlet Night pack's next Alpha. Like Jaxon, he also has royal blue blood as his rank. However, he is not the same as Jaxon since he was more powerful because his father is the Alpha King. Nonetheless, Jaxon has been ruling the Dark Blood pack for so long now while he was still new. However, he retains authority.
The Scarlet Night pack follows decency: to be kind to all to avoid a war against other packs, but Veron doesn't know why he was annoyed with Veronica. On the other side, he was likewise offended when Veronica abruptly ceased bothering him.
'Veron, you are a true masochist.' Fritz, his wolf, purred.
Veron extended his hand to support his forehead, took a long breath, lifted his eyes, and peered forward. 'It annoys me so much.'
*ring*ring*ring.
When his phone vibrated, he saw that it was Helene. He answered it without a second thought and listened to the smooth and beautiful voice that sounded with a tinge of discontent, "Why aren't you taking me to French cuisine, as you promised? It's already been 10 minutes!"
Unlike Veronica's, Helene's voice has a naturally coquettish, baby-like tone. This seduction is irresistible to men, thus he can't understand why Jaxon can't choose her sister. Helene's voice calmed him, "Sister, I'll be there soon, wait a minute."
"No, I can't forgive you."
"Didn't you like a pair of sapphire earrings from France last time?"
"Did you buy the earrings?" Helene was pleasantly surprised. The earrings were worth seven million dollars.
"Not only earrings but a complete set of jewelry." Veron looked at the jewelry box, lying aside, and continued, "Can you forgive me for being late now?"
"A complete set?!" The woman exclaimed excitedly. "I know no one treats me better than you, so I'll wait for you." Helene hung up the phone sweetly, without a trace of annoyance.
Veron put down the phone and opened the jewelry box. The precious jewels glittered with gorgeous and noble colors. He always didn't like the exaggeration of gems, but Helene liked it. That's enough. He enjoys making Helene happy.
Veronica favors by Jaxon always make Helene so unhappy that she wants to end her life a few times, but it has also made him to strive harder to be on top so her sister can get everything she wants.
Meanwhile, Veronica had no idea how she got inside, and Veron's words earlier echoing in her ears—
"You said he was hurting you. Well, why did he not kill you?"
"What sort of expressions do you think I should have? With a beaming smile on my face, to a woman who wants to bug me all day?"
"Drive. Staying here made me feel disgusted."
"That's good. Because Jaxon is the least of the individual I want to fight. Your Alpha can be eaten by madness and so I have no power yet to counter it."
Veronica grinned bitterly as she leaned against the door, "So... he really is not willing to help me anymore, huh?"
She will be Veronica who will live in the dark, no longer be help by anyone, and no longer entangled with old memories. She wiped her tears away with her hand, stood up, and got the key from her purse to unlock the door.
The shock could not be denied as soon as she opened the door. "What the?"
She didn't expect the state of the house would be like this! As though a thief had raided here. Too many trash and the floor is dirty. "Jaxon's subordinates carried it out." She is so sure. Veronica may conclude after standing at the door for a long time. "Indeed. Perhaps, he asked them to do this, since he might think I can't stay here long. He wants me to go back as soon as possible!"
Veronica sighed and kept talking to herself like crazy. She doesn't want to worry Morgan, "Baby, sit there. Mommy will clean this mess."
Fortunately, at least the sofa bed is not dirty. And at least she knew how to clean so this kind of things can't make her give up. Right, she must gather every piece of evidence to prove her innocence. Jaxon will not stop until he has proof that she has a memory. However, what should she do if she doesn't have adequate evidence? The most straightforward action is to go to the hospital for an examination and have the doctor establish that she has brain problem. That is just her final option.
Veronica was not in a rush to get to the hospital after coming up with a solution. She is exhausted and would like to lay in bed and sleep. She entered the room, charged her phone, quickly cleaned up, and help Morgan sleep before retiring to the bed. Her physical strength has most likely already been depleted. Before falling asleep, she expected to torment herself again since she had just met Veron. Nevertheless, as she put on the warm and comfy comforter, she fell asleep. She seemed to have been unable to sleep on her bed for ages.
*Da da da*
A loud engine roaring erupted from outside in the middle of the night. Veronica tossed and turned on the bed, unable to sleep because of the sound, so she got up, dressed, and stepped out of the home. Other neighbors who heard the disturbance came out one by one. Each of them asked what was going on and what was causing the noise.
Veronica yawned, confusedly peering out at the black night sky. "Where is this sound coming from? At midnight, it's too loud."
"Veronica! Climb to the roof!" Above the starry sky, an arrogant masculine voice rang forth. The voice was delivered by loudspeaker, and every phrase was loud enough for everyone to hear plainly.
Veronica sprang awake, her eyes widening in surprise. "Is that Jaxon's voice? Impossible... I must have misheard it.' Veronica, in an ostrich mood, turned around and returned, but she soon heard Uriel's voice.
"Luna, the Alpha is waiting for you on the rooftop. Please come up quickly."
