Veronica didn't stop crying even though Morgan tried to make her feel better. She bit her lips to prevent herself from creating a loud sound, and she didn't even know what she would do next. She was confused if she would explain herself to Jaxon.
But because her pride didn't want her to apologize for the mistakes that she didn't even make, she didn't do it. Veronica felt that there was a reason why she lost her memories.
Veronica glimpsed at Morgan and hugged him tightly. Veronica didn't know what she might do if Jaxon decided to take Morgan away from her side. Morgan was her strength and weakness.
Even though she lost her memories, it wouldn't change the fact that she had an attachment to Morgan. She was sure that Morgan was her son, whatever happened.
‘Why do I need to lose my memories? Is this my way to forget everything I suffered in Jaxon's hands?’
Veronica didn't want to believe what Helene had told her, but recalling that her parents weren't even visiting her after she got amnesia made her think that Helene wasn't lying.
Veronica couldn't accept that she lacked sympathy or attention and why she did some evil things. And thinking why Jaxon didn't want her to know everything made Veronica wish to ask again.
“I. I'm fine, sweety. This isn't your father's fault. Did you understand what I'm saying to you?” Veronica asked Morgan in a humble way which made Morgan nod at her in response. Veronica forced a smile from her lips, and thinking about what happened to her past made her more annoyed.
Since that day, Jaxon hasn't let Veronica see him. Veronica kept cooking a lot of food when she heard some helpers murmuring about essential things.
“It looked like Alpha Jaxon already knew who the woman that he deserved. Veronica is always cunning. I'm sure of that.”
“Yeah, I even heard her calling a man on her phone. I think that she is cheating on our Alpha King.”
“Are you sure about that? If this is a lie, there is a huge chance that we may die.”
Veronica gnashed her teeth when the helpers didn't stop talking about her. She clasped her hands and ensured the helpers would see she was so mad for gossiping about her life.
“Huh, look at her. She dared to fight with us. She's a prostitute who likes to be fuck with many men." One of the maids said, which made Veronica clench her jaw.
“I'm not a bitch. Why don't you all do your work, or else I will tell Alpha Jaxon what you said to me.” Veronica took her phone and made sure that those helpers who were trying to humiliate her felt scared.
Although Veronica was sure that Jaxon wouldn't even answer her phone call, it didn't mean she would stop trying.
“Veronica, did you think that you are the daughter of an Alpha now? You might have Alpha blood, but it doesn't mean you are stupid who fucked Alpha Jaxon to have his child.”
“Yeah. I agree with you. She's a bitch. Helene is finally here. They loved each other for a long time, and I even heard Jaxon was trying to arrange the wedding.”
“A slut will be permanently a slut. Veronica, we will not bow to you if you think that way.”
Veronica's mouth hung open in disbelief after they left her. Veronica glanced at the food that she prepared for every worker, but it seemed that they didn't need her help anymore. Veronica tried to calm herself down.
She was hoping that she might get back her memories too fast. She was hoping that she remembered how she and Jaxon had met.
Veronica didn't want to believe the helper's mouth, but she couldn't stop thinking they might tell her the truth.
The next day, Veronica was about to go to the laundry to wash her and Morgan's clothes. Veronica was humming while she was putting her clothes in the machine, while she didn't even notice that Jaxon was looking at her butt like a hawk.
Jaxon was silent, which made me watch Veronica and how long she would be staring at the machine. Jaxon couldn't stop himself from getting infuriated because he didn't even let Veronica see him after what happened. He thought Veronica wouldn't think twice about being with him since that was why she always did those things.
Jaxon closed his eyes when Veronica's scent came into his nose. It was the perfect smell that he had smelled.
‘I can't believe this woman! She didn't even feel my presence. Is the machine more important to her than me? I'm the Alpha of this pack, and she always kept humiliating me.’
Even Jaxon's mind was mad because of what Veronica had done to him. Jacob couldn't stop himself from interrogating Veronica. He couldn't believe that Veronica was married to another man! How could she get pregnant if he and Veronica didn't have sex with each other from the moment she lost her memories?
Jaxon slowly missed Veronica, who was always affected by his presence. Whenever he touched Veronica, it was Veronica who always aroused him.
He missed how Veronica begged him not to stop stroking his length inside her and how Veronica licked his length.
“It looks like you can't stop thinking about your other man. Veronica, you are in my pack, and you aren't allowed to be with another Alpha or whoever that fucking man is.” Jaxon growled, which made Veronica frown.
Veronica couldn't understand why Jaxon kept acting strange. It looked like Jaxon couldn't stop himself from accusing her that she was seeing another man.
“I'm doing the laundry. What are you talking about? Leave me alone.” Veronica rolled her eyes, which made Jaxon angrily hold her hands.
Veronica shrieked when Jaxon put her on the top of the machine. Veronica struggled, but Jaxon grabbed her waist and went to her middle. Veronica gulped when she saw how Jaxon looked at her from head to toe.
“I'm done eating the meal that you cooked for me. Where is my dessert?” Jaxon seductively mumbled and moved his head closer to Veronica. He was closing his eyes as if trying to stop himself from doing bad things to the mother of his child.
“I'm sorry, I forgot to prepare a dessert for you.” Veronica lowered her head, but Jaxon held her chin.
“Then, I want to claim my desserts,” Jaxon whispered as he moved closer to claim Veronica's lips. He was so hungry that he was too turned on whenever the machine wiggled.
