"What's so special about your actual name?"
"The food will be here soon."
"You're a freak! you know that?"
"Says the woman covered in tattooed scars."
"Is that what you think?"
"That's what I see, you tattooed those scars, why?"
"Your eyes can deceive you, you know?"
"Whatever." At least this is good, if he thinks these are tattoos then that means I can live a normal life, if anyone asks I'll just lie to them that it's a tattoo. Nice.
"I'll be in my room, its five rooms away from yours, try not to hit your head in the tub again."
"Thank you."
"Here is your flight ticket."
"So fast, thanks."
"Don't mention it."
"Why you are helping me? I also want to know."
"I definitely am not a charitable person neither am I a person that helps others."
"So why are you helping me?"
"I don't know." I sighed heavily and he left. What a weird kind of human being, I am a stranger and he is helping me, he even said he doesn't know why he is helping me.
He seems like a guy that wants to get away from the world, he has a mysterious aura around him.
I heard a knock on the door.
"Who's it?"
"Room service."
"Come in." He came in with a food stroller with food on it.
"Your food ma'am."
"Leave it on the table." There was a table in front of the couch, he placed the food and juice there then turned to me.
"Anything else ma'am?"
"Nothing thanks." I swung my legs off the bed and walked to the couch. My head still hurts like hell but I can handle it, I've been in worst situations and survived.
I brought my food closer and ate it all, I cleared the plates and drank the juice, a little was left though. I was wearing a robe. I marched to the full length mirror, I slowly took off the robe. He was right, it's been a while since I've seen myself like this, all my scars looks tattooed. Especially the claw marks, I turned my back to the mirror and my head to the side so I can see my back.
All my scars from below the back of my neck to my lower back are arranged in a weird pattern. What the hell!!! It was not like this before.
How's this even possible?
"Axymah?!!" A voice called out to me.
"Who is that? Show yourself!!"
"Relax, you look crazy." I looked around confused, I was the only one in the room, so where is the voice coming from?
"Are you..... Are you in my head?"
"What would I want to do in that dark alley of sorrow and heartbreak?"
"Then where are you? Show yourself!!!" I yelled loudly.
"I'd rather not, I want something from you."
"Who are you?"
"I want the map of Seleria."
"Show yourself!!!!!", I am going crazy I know it, "get out of my head."
"I'm not in your head freak!!!! Just give me the map of Seleria and I won't bother you anymore."
"I don't know what you are talking about."
"Liar, I'll be back!!!!"
"Hello!!!! Hello!!" I screamed. Silence followed after that, the voice was gone. What does it want from me? Why me?!!! The map of Seleria. What's that? Where is Seleria? What country is that??!!!!!
Why is all these happening to me?!!!! Can't I just live my life in peace without confusion? I unplugged my phone and googled Seleria, but no result was found.
I'm in a state of confusion, my mind is in a haze, where was the voice coming from and what's this Seleria it was talking about? I think Mavery will know, she has to tell me everything, answer all my questions.
It's nearly sunset, I should enjoy this hotel while it lasts, I rummaged through my bag and got dressed, I wore a high waist short skirt showing all my curves and a crop top. Some of my scars were visible but they look like tattoos so I'm okay. I wore a wedge sandals and exited my room, I found my way to the reception and dropped my key with the receptionist.
"Sorry about earlier ma'am." She apologized sweetly.
"It's alright."
"That man, is he your boyfriend?"
"Why do you ask?"
"There is no way a total stranger will pull that kind of stunt with you."
"He could be my friend also you know."
"Uhm-"
"But I am not." He rudely interrupted her, he stride to us in all his gorgeous glory, if I must admit he is really hot, it's gonna take a lady everything she's got not to fall hard.
"I'm confused."
"Anyone will be, our relationship is one no one can understand."
"Wait what!!!? What relationship exactly, I barely even know you."
"Really?!!!"
"Yes really!!! So what the hell are you saying?!!!!" I saw we were already catching attentions of a few passerby's. He stayed quiet staring right at me, I held his gaze.
His domino was quite threatening and hot too.... What am I saying? I just broke up with one asshole no way I'm falling for another one, this one is not just an asshole, he is a freak. A psychotic weird freak.
I didn't want to waste any more time with him, I turned my attention back to the receptionist.
"Is there a pool here?"
"Yes there is, it's outside the hotel, at the side."
"Okay thanks." All the while I spoke to the receptionist he just stared at me, I felt really uncomfortable, what sort of a guy is he, I can't say he is like all those rich popular guys that have women at their disposal with huge ego. If he was he wouldn't even have helped me.
One thing is certain about him, he is rich, hot, and can have any woman of his choice.
I went to the pool afterwards, he didn't even follow me, he just stood there and watched my retreat back, should I be worried? I don't know.
What I do know is that the pool is packed, woah, there are lots of people here that there is no more space in the pool, it's so crowded, it must be due to the heat, it's really hot.
I saw a vacant beach chair and immediately sat my but on it, it was comfy, I relaxed and closed my eyes. A scream of fright rudely disturbed my relaxation. I looked around for the source of the scream. It was from a little girl not far from me.
I walked to her and bent to her level so I can speak to her.
"Hey baby, where is your mommy?"
"I don't know, and I can't find my doll."
"Where did you last see her?" I asked, the DJ turned on the music, it was very loud, so loud I couldn't hear my own voice, everyone screamed and danced adding to the noise.
"She.......... Ri...... Wh...." The little girl said but I couldn't hear her, she pointed to a direction and run to it, I quickly followed behind her.
There were lots of people around and I lost the little girl in the midst of the crowd, I had to force my way through, I was finally out, I looked for her but couldn't find her, I think now I'm at the back of the hotel, I turned on my heels and headed back for the pool.
"Is this who you're looking for?" A familiar voice asked, my back was towards the person, where have I heard this voice before, brain don't fail me now, then it clicked, how can I ever forget that voice, the voice that haunts me day and night, how did he find me? How did he know I was here? My breathe hitched in my throat, I knew all too well who it was.
I wanted to run as far as my legs could carry me, I wanted to yell for help but then the little girl is with him, who knows what he'll do to her,
I turned to him, the little girl was him his arms, so innocent, she was wearing a bikini, she definitely wasn't wearing that before, she also had a sweet smile on her face, she doesn't know what his evil mind holds, his mind is the Den of the Devil.
I heard cries from a corner, I turned my head to see a woman facing Dario, she was shaking vigorously.
"Go to your mommy." She ran to her mom, they hugged each other and ran.
Seeing this I had flashbacks, flashback of the good side of him that I don't think exists anymore.
Eleven years ago
"Honey, we're home."
"There are my queen and little princess." Dario came and gave me a bear hug, he gave mom one too.
"You both must be exhausted."
"You have no idea, I really have rights go somewhere now."
I threw my bag on the floor and went to the living room, I sat on the chair, turned on the TV. I changed the channel from boring news to cartoon.
"But you just got back." I heard Dario complained from the dining where both him and mom were seated.
"Mom can I have a glass of water?"
"Come get it yourself, I'm not your help."
"You don't have to be like that," mom rolled her eyes at him "don't worry honey I'll get it for you."
"Thanks Dario."
"What!!!!! How many times have I told you not to address him by his name? Call him Daddy."
"Why!!! My daddy is dead, he his not my daddy."
"Yes but-"
"Don't trouble the poor girl, she just got back from school."
"I'm sorry."
"You have nothing to apologise for," He brought me my glass of water "do you need anything more my little princess?"
"No thank you."
"We'll go out later for ice cream." I cheered and smiled, grinning ear to ear from excitement.
End of flashback
I smiled at him, I was brought back to my senses when I saw the woman from earlier and the little girl being held in place by two giant men, I turned to him, a frown a furrowed brows replaced my smile. He gave me a disgusting grin.
The woman was forced to her knees, she begged him for mercy.
"Please spear me, please!!! I beg of you." He paid no heed to her, he brought out a gun and pointed it at her, the little girl just watched as the scene unfold before her, what could she do? She looked around the age of six years. She looked at her mom, wondering why she was in tears.
"No!!! Please!!!" The bastard was going to kill her right in front of her daughter.
Tears fell from my face, unable to do anything, my heart was beating rapidly against my chest.
He looked at me, he is not about to kill her because he wants to, he is doing it so he could hurt me. Break me.
She turned to me and yelled "Take care of my daughter that's the least you could do since I'm about to die because of yo-"
He pulled the trigger. The woman fell limp on the floor, a bullet right in the middle of her forehead, she didn't even get to finish her sentence.
I turned to the little girl, she stared at her mothers dead body in awe.
"Mommy?! Mommy!!! Mommy!!" The girl screamed, she tried to run to her mom's dead body but she was being held back, but not for long......
