"You don't have time to think about anything it's already evening, this is almost 5:00pm."
"So what else happened, how did Mr Dario attack your mom?"
Flashback
I went to lock the back door but Mr Dario was standing in the middle of the kitchen with a huge sharp knife.
"We meet again Amira." He said with a wicked smile.
"Get out of my house!!" I yelled as I began to panic.
"Why? But I just got here."
"I heard you are pregnant, congratulations, it's a miracle you are pregnant, I want to see for myself if that child is a normal one."
"Excuse me, my unborn child is normal."
"I will tear open your stomach and take a look."
"You are a psycho, you need psychiatric treatment."
"Ouch, by the time I'm done with you, you will never want to have another child ever again, you better run."
I didn't need him to say it twice, I dashed from the kitchen, I looked back and saw him right on my tail, the front door was locked before I'll open it he would have gotten to me so instead I ran up the stairs and entered the room and locked the door behind me.
"Come out!! Come out where ever you are!!", he taunted, " you can run but you can't hide Amira." I was terrified out of my mind, he wanted to kill my unborn baby, I was so overwhelmed I began to cry, soon he started to break down the door to the room I was hiding in, I crawled to the closet so I could hide there. As I closed the closet he successfully broke down the door and walked in quietly.
"So you want to play hide and seek? I wonder how long you will stay in there for till you run out of air."
I quickly tried to open the closet door but he had already locked me in it, I was going to suffocate.
"I hope you rot in hell after you die, stupid bitch."
I banged on the door and yelled for help, but as I was alone at home nobody was there to save me, slowly I started to run out of oxygen, I was this close to passing out when I heard someone open the room door.
"Honey? Honey? Where are you?" My husband called out to me, when I heard his calls I hit the closet door to get his attention, I couldn't speak because of the little to no oxygen.
"Who is in there?" He asked a bit panicked.
"Help." Was all I was able to say before I blacked out.
End of flashback.
"How did he know that she is pregnant? Who told him?"
"I have a hunch."
"Tell us, who is it?"
"No need, I'll tell you when I'm certain."
"Okay, but are you sure?"
"Yeah."
"We will go to Debby gold's house, I have decided."
"When will we go?"
"Once it's 6:00pm we will go."
"I don't think this is a good idea, its probably a set up, please let is not go." Alero pleaded.
"Girl you are such a chicken, let's just go."
"Fine, you two can go and infiltrate someone's home which is totally against the law and if you guys get caught you could be jailed, but I will not follow you."
"Yes you will."
"No I will not and you cannot make me."
"Make you do what?" My mom asked as she entered in on us.
"Well... Mom... Uhm... You should be resting right now, go to bed, I'll make you some soup."
"Nonsense, I rested enough in the hospital and I want to start on dinner, so Dinela what do you want to make Alero do."
"I want her to.... Escort me to a friends house, and also Azyma, I want them to meet her."
"Why not tomorrow? Isn't it late already"
"I also told her that but she didn't listen." Alero pitched in.
"Yes because she is taking an early flight to Jamaica tomorrow and her pet died yesterday I want to sympathise with her before she leaves tomorrow if not she will get upset if I don't send my condolences especially since she is my good friend."
I watched as Dinela made up this humongous lie all so my mom could ask Alero and I to go with her.
"Oh that's said, Alero, Axymah I think the both of you should go with Dinela to her friends place to offer your sympathy and meet her, you don't want to seem cold hearted now do you?"
"Alright Mrs Amira for your sake we will go."
"Alright, when will you ladies go then?"
"By 6:00pm."
"And this is 5:14pm, you should get going, be back before 8:00pm Axymah."
"Okay mom." She has no idea what she just agreed to.
"Its settled then, we should leave now so we will get there right on time."
"One problem, who knows Debby gold's house?"
"You forgot to ask the most important question, great."
"I wonder how we will go now."
"I know Debby gold's house." Alero said.
"Really?"
"Yeah, went there with my parents once."
"Okay, let's go then."
"Debby gold is living in Maitama." Alero informed, we left the house after saying bye to my mom.
I still wonder why my biological mother never came to visit me all these years, she never came home for me, never contacted me, why? The woman I have endured so much torture because of her death was never really dead, how am I supposed to feel about that?
There are so many questions running through my mind that I have no answer to, some of them are
Do I still love her as my mother? Does she still love me and want me as her daughter? Did she fake her death? Does Mr Dario know that the woman he thought was dead and tortured me for her death is alive? Where has she been and where is she presently? How will my foster mom deal with this news? Should I tell her or not? She will find out sooner or later.
And most important question is who is Mr Dario's accomplice? Who is he?
