As the sun slowly made its way through the window, Lucas opened his eyes to see his wife Andrianne sleeping soundly beside him. He couldn't help but smile as he watched her, the peaceful expression on her face making her look even more beautiful. He leaned over and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, not wanting to wake her just yet.
After a few minutes of simply admiring her, Lucas softly spoke, "Good morning, my love." Andrianne stirred slightly, her eyes still closed as she snuggled closer to him. Lucas wrapped his arms around her, pulling her even closer as he whispered, "I'm here for you. Always."
Andrianne opened her eyes and smiled up at him, feeling safe and loved in his embrace. "I know," she said softly, "and I'm grateful for that. I never want to lose you."
Lucas held her gaze, his eyes filled with sincerity, "You won't. I promise you that. We're in this together."
They stayed like that for a few more minutes, basking in the warmth of each other's love and comfort, until Lucas sat up and stretched. "Come on," he said, "let's get ready for the day."
Andrianne nodded, knowing that they both had work to do. They got out of bed and went about their morning routines, but the tension of the previous day was still palpable. Lucas knew he needed to reassure her once more that he was on her side.
As they sat down for breakfast, Lucas took Andrianne's hand and said, "I want you to know that I believe you. I know what happened with Steve was an accident and that you were only trying to protect me. I won't let anyone harm you, and I'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe."
Andrianne felt tears prick at her eyes, overwhelmed by Lucas's love and support. "Thank you," she whispered, "I don't know what I'd do without you."
Lucas smiled at her and leaned in for a kiss, a gentle but passionate reminder of their commitment to each other. They finished their breakfast in a comfortable silence, both feeling reassured and ready to face whatever the day may bring.
As they got ready to leave for work, Lucas took Andrianne in his arms once more and said, "Remember, we're a team. Whatever comes our way, we'll face it together."
Andrianne nodded, feeling grateful for the love and strength of her husband. She knew that with Lucas by her side, they could overcome anything.
After breakfast, she decided to go and see her Dad she needed to save herself from the mess she's in Andrianne's heart raced as she pulled up in front of her father's house. She took a deep breath before getting out of her car and walking up to the front door. She rang the doorbell and waited anxiously for someone to answer.
A few moments later, the door opened and Andrianne was greeted by her father's butler. "Good morning, Ms. Andrianne. How may I assist you?" he asked politely.
Andrianne took a deep breath before replying, "I need to speak with my father. It's urgent."
The butler nodded and led her to the sitting room, where her father was reading the newspaper. He looked up as she entered and smiled warmly at her.
"Andrianne, my dear, what brings you here?" he asked, setting the newspaper aside.
Andrianne hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Dad, I need to know something. Was Steve working for you when he kidnapped Lucas?"
Her father's expression immediately turned serious. "What makes you think that?" he asked.
Andrianne took a deep breath, "I just need to know, Dad. Please tell me the truth."
Her father sighed heavily before replying, "Yes, Steve was working for me. He was supposed to kidnap Lucas and hold him for ransom. But I never intended for him to be killed."
Andrianne's heart sank as she heard the confirmation. She couldn't believe her father would be involved in something like this.
"Why, Dad? Why would you do something like this?" she asked, tears welling up in her eyes.
Her father looked at her with a mixture of sadness and regret, "I needed the money, Andrianne. I was in debt and I didn't know how else to get out of it."
Andrianne felt a wave of anger wash over her. She couldn't believe her father would put her and her husband's life in danger for his own financial gain.
"You put our lives in danger, Dad! How could you do that?" she yelled.
Her father hung his head in shame, "I know, Andrianne. I'm sorry. I never meant for things to turn out this way."
Andrianne didn't know what to say. She felt a mix of anger, disappointment, and sadness towards her father. She knew she had to leave before she said or did something she would regret.
"I have to go, Dad. I need to think," she said as she got up from the couch and headed towards the door.
As she stepped outside, she took a deep breath of fresh air and tried to calm down. She knew she needed to talk to Lucas and figure out what their next move would be. She got into her car and drove back home, her mind racing with thoughts and emotions.
As she drove aimlessly through the city, her mind was racing with different scenarios and possibilities.
Eventually, she found herself pulling up to a small restaurant she used to frequent with Lucas. She stepped inside and ordered a drink, hoping that it would calm her nerves. She took a seat by the window and gazed outside, lost in thought.
As Andrianne stepped out of the restaurant, she bumped into a young lady. "Oh, I'm sorry," Andrianne quickly apologized, trying to make her way around the girl.
The lady looked up at Andrianne and was stunned. "It's okay," she said softly.
Andrianne felt a strange tension in the air as the two of them stood there for a moment, neither moving. And then, as if coming out of a trance, Andrianne quickly walked away, not looking back.
Unbeknownst to Andrianne, the girl she had just bumped into was none other than Emily, Lucas's former mistress. Emily had been waiting outside the restaurant, hoping to run into Lucas or Andrianne, and she was shocked when Andrianne brushed past her without a second glance.
Meanwhile, Andrianne had arrived home and was still lost in thought. She had no idea that she had just come face to face with her husband's former mistress. All she knew was that she needed to find out the truth about Steve's death and clear her name.
Little did she know, her life was about to take a dangerous turn. Emily was determined to make her pay, and she wasn't going to give up easily. Andrianne was going to have to be careful if she wanted to come out of this unscathed.
