I turned around to only find an aged woman, her face is all wrinkly and her face was worn out.
" Welcome Home, Archie," she spoke in a humble tone.
" Greta, where is everyone?" He asked him.
" Your Mother is having dinner with her few friends and your father is in a pack meeting."
She shifted her attention from him to me. Her eyes travel down to the length of my body like she was curious to know about me and I am curious to know where am I. And what will he do to me? And the storm comes next for me.
" Who is she?" she asks him and he turns his face towards me and his lips curled up into a grin.
" She is the new maid and Greta, please take special time to teach her the rules and regulations of here. She is a wild one."
" A maid??" words leaves my mouth and the old woman looks again at me with judged eyes. And me on the other side, shoot him a dagger full of glare. How dare he talks like that about me. What he thinks he is? I am not his slave nor I will become one.
" Indeed, you are right she needs to learn a lot. Don't worry about her. I will take full responsibility for her. You don't need to be worried about her."
" Good to hear it." he continued, " Can I talk to you alone Greta." she nodded and he instructed me to wait here for a second. And they left me alone at the door.
I stood there looking up at the ceiling and
I was greeted by a spacious foyer that leads to the living room. The living room features high ceilings and large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The decor is elegant and features a combination of modern and vintage pieces.
" This place is massive, I wonder how many people live here? What am I thinking? I shouldn't be here in the first place. I should find a way to escape from here. " I thought.
And decided to move forward but I dismissed the idea very quickly because they went inside and I don't want to get caught. I spin around to see the door where we came from. I reached out for the door handle to open it but it was locked from the outside and I heard footsteps approaching me.
I immediately turned around and stood back where I was standing. And I saw them coming back to me. He moved forward towards me.
" Don't you dare think about doing anything stupid? If you did something then you have to a bigger price than you can think of. And don't take this lightly. I am not evening joking. "
I swallow a big lump into my throat and watch his threatening eyes. And cold sweat broke down from my hairline. And I decided to keep my mouth shut because I don't want him to get mad at me even more to the point where there will be no escaping from him. I quietly nodded in agreement and a smirk spread on his face, like he won something.
" Greta, she is all yours and I am leaving now I had work to do." He told the old woman and she bow down to him and he opened the door and walked out of there.
I felt relieved because I couldn't bare his face any longer.
" What is your name girl?" The old woman caught my attention.
" Aisling, my name is Aisling."
" Aisling, follow me," she said and gyrate to the opposite side of the door. And I wonder where is she taking me.
" Where are we going?" I asked her.
" Rule number one, don't ask questions," she said and I nodded quietly. I didn't speak further and it was better for me to just stay my mouth shut because every time I opened my mouth I just invite trouble.
" I apologize, madam. I didn't know that. "
" Very well, follow me Aisling. I'll show you where have you been staying from now on?"
I walked behind her, Inside, it was even more opulent. Black-and-white checkered marble shone at my feet, flowing to countless doors and a sweeping staircase. A long hall stretched ahead to the giant glass doors at the other end of the house, and through them, I glimpsed a second garden, grander than the one out front.
We entered the left wing of the house where I saw a maid come in to light up. I thought this woman was one of the most fascinating I had ever seen. She had a long thin face, dead white, or powdered dead white. Her hair was black and lively under her cap, her eyes so small that the first time I saw her I thought she was blind. But wide open, they were the most astonishing blue, cornflower blue, no, more like sparks of blue fire.
