Fated Tó The Evil Viking Chapter 125

"Please wait for me, we're already on our way back. I'm coming with you to see her." Ella says when I told her I want to quickly check on Ash.

I knew she would want to follow me. Even if Thor had not said he'd take her along with him to the border, I can't allow her to come with me.

I won't even be taking any of the new guys we brought from the estate as Thor had suggested because we're short-handed as it is. Right now, we need as many hands to help in protecting the pack as we can get and since I'm not on a death mission, I don't see any reason why I should take someone along with me.

"No. You can't come with me." I replied to her.

"You and two of the new guys are going with Thor to patrol the border. He wants you guys there with him to watch his back. The patrol members are aware he will be working at the border with the mercenaries. Although they already pledged their allegiance to him, I still don't trust them not to try another ambush!" I speak into the Bluetooth stuck in my ear as I back my car out of the garage.

"Oh, okay..." She replies

"Yeah. I just want to know the full message the prison guard told you about Ash. I know you weren't able to tell me everything then because Thor was present."

"Oh yeah, the message! Goddess, I'm sorry I was totally preoccupied with pack duties I forgot about it."

"Yeah, don't sweat it. It's not as if I don't know what's been happening. So tell me, what's the message?"

"She killed someone!"

"Wait, what?..." I'm shocked by the bomb Ella casually drops on my lap. When I first heard she caused trouble, I thought she fought someone but, killed someone!? How the hell did that happen!?

"But how? I don't understand. How did that manage to happen? She didn't have any roommate so how could she have managed to kill someone? Was she provoked? Did he tell you how it happened?..." I rapidly ask her.

"He didn't give details. He just said, tell the Beta to come quickly, the Luna killed someone"

"The Luna killed someone!" I angrily repeated the annoying message he asked Ella to pass to me wondering how many people the dick head would have repeated such a defaming statement to.

"I wonder what they did to her that made her react in such a manner because I know there's no way Ash would've killed anyone if her life was not threatened. I saw it happened before with Mirinda and her minions." I spat out

"I want you to call the son of a bitch back on the phone. I don't give a rat's ass if he's already on top of his mate for the night. Tell him he better be waiting for me by the time I get there, otherwise, I'll have his head on a platter!"

"Yes, Beta... Uhm, Ivar is on his way. I mind-linked him to bring a care package and some clothes that I already prepared for the Luna when I thought I would be visiting her tomorrow."

"Care package? Thought you brought her some stuff when we visited her yesterday?"

"Yes, but this one is different..." I listen to her talk as I wait in the car for Ivar. "This package will help her baby grow strong and healthy."

I exhale in amusement

"Ella, I don't think you should be sending her stuff that might give false hope since we don't know if there's going to be a baby yet..."

"She's already conceived Beta. I can feel it in my heart." She says firmly. Her tone of voice is so serious that I would have believed me if I didn't know better.

"Oh... What are you now? A seer?" I ask and she laughs

"Anyways, it's just some vitamins and snacks that would help with nausea when she starts having them. I just want to make sure..."

I don't want to argue with her. So while I wait for Ivar, I relax in my seat with my eyes closed as I continue to listen to her many reasons why it's necessary she sends a pregnancy care package to Ash. My eyes open when a knock sounds on my car window.

It's Ivar. I wind down the glass and he peeks through the window

"Ella said to give you this for the Luna." He says and I nod

"Yeah, yeah, yeah... Ivar is here. Gotta go." I tell her and immediately end the call before opening the car door for Ivar to put the package on the passenger seat.

"You're not taking anyone with you? I thought the General said..."

"C'mon man, what do I need a bodyguard for? It's not even midnight yet. It's eight pm and I'm sure I'll be back before ten. The pack needs the men more than I do. I'll be okay, don't fret." I say and immediately wind up the glass before he can say anything more

As I drive out of the mansion, I remember I haven't returned Alpha Nate's call ever since he called when the elders were about to impeach Thor. I also need to speak with him about Thor's defense for the coming trial.

"Fuck!" I swear out loud when I also remember I promised I would call Uncle Knox tonight so he could tell me what he learned about Miranda from her father and I haven't done that yet.

'God! I'm swamped!'

So many things to do. Maybe I should just get a secretary to help me keep abreast of my schedule. I picked up my phone and put a call through to Uncle Knox. I'll call him first and postpone Nate's call till tomorrow.

Uncle Knox isn't picking up his call and I wonder why since he knew I would be calling tonight. I'm already considering giving up after the third ring when he finally answers

"Eric!..." his voice booms out cheerfully through the phone. "I'm sorry. I left my phone in the bedroom. I was bored and the maid brought me to your home cinema. She called it the media room..." He laughs.

"Oh, is that so?" I say, laughing.

"Yes! I must tell you, I have never heard of that before. I can't even remember the last time I watched the television for entertainment, it was always news, and now I'm watching a movie on this gigantic television and it feels wonderful. It feels as if I'm on vacation!" He says happily

I'm happy to hear he's having a good time. After working so hard in these past years with no help from either of his children. He deserves the much-needed vacation.

"I'm glad you like it, Uncle."

"Believe me, I'm in love with this place. I feel bad that I don't have something like that in the mansion to entertain you all. Won't you guys miss it?"

I chuckle

"Don't worry about us. There are so many empty rooms in the mansion that we can always convert to a media room if we need one."

"Yeah... Oh, yes. I'm sorry to bore you with this childish talk. Now straight to business...

So I spoke with Nate. I told you before that he and his mate knew nothing about what Miranda did. They indeed had no idea. We had a long talk and I was shocked when I heard what he told me. Hope you're done with your duties for the night so I can tell you everything he told me?" He asks as I approach the Council prison yard

"Gosh, no! Sorry. I'm not at the mansion. I'm on my way to visit Ash at the Council prison yard and I just arrived there right now. I don't know when I'll be done with her and since it's late already, I can't promise I'll call you back tonight.

You know what? Why don't you just brief me for now, and then I'll call you back first thing tomorrow morning for the rest of the story? I've not spoken with Alpha Nate yet. I want to hear from you before I'll call him."

"It's alright. I would have loved to speak with Ash myself but you already know why I can't. Anyway, Nate told me Miranda sneaked out through her window the night she fought Ash. The most interesting thing is they found out she's not their biological daughter."
