Eric's POV
As soon as she saw Ash has left, the bitch finally pull away from their embrace and looped her arm with Thor's, leaning into him like she can't bear to let him out of her sight. I seriously look into Thor's eyes and I see he doesn't have the empty eyes of someone who is bound with a spell
He chuckles and ask with a raised brow
"Are you okay? Why are you looking at me as if I've suddenly sprout a horn in the middle of my head?" He joke. I knew right then that he's okay. Mentally, at least.
He narrows his eyes at me as if he's trying to figure out why I'm not acting like my usual self. Then he shrugs and smiles, brings his arm up to encircle the bitch's shoulder, bringing her nearer to himself as if she's not almost burrowing into his side
I'm still wondering what the bitch could have done and how she did it to make him ignore his real mate when his words interrupts my thoughts
"Have you met my mate? Her name is Ash and...."
"Wait, what?" I say stupendously, cutting him off mid-sentense. I'm dismayed and feel sorry for my best friend.
He thinks he's with Ash. He doesn't know Ash, his real mate is hurting badly because of the bitch he's currently holding closely to himself. I look toward where the rest of the team are standing and I see different expressions written on their faces. Surprise, anger, hate...
Ella, Ivar's mate who has appointed herself the position of the mother over the lots of us, had tears in the corner of her eyes. Probably wondering about Ash and feeling sorry for her
I look toward the bitch and smile when I see she's as shocked as the rest of us, covering her embarrassment by seriously coughing, acting like she's choking. I guess her sorcerer never told her, Ash and Thor had a special mate bond that can't be easily broken
"Hey. Are you okay?" Thor ask her with concern. Rubbing her back as he leads her toward where a bench is located
"Well?... Someone should go get her water! What the fuck are you all just standing there for? Waiting until she chokes to death!?" He snaps at no one in particular
Ella looks toward me. Her features rigid. I can see from her countenance that she will rather die than get water for the bitch. I nods toward her to get the water and she rolls her eyes before going grudgingly.
While Thor is attending to his fake mate, I pulls Henrik away with me.
"I need to go find Ash. She was in a bad shape when she left and..." I stop talking when my phone starts to ring.
I bring it out from my pocket to check the caller ID. I'm surprised to see it's the seer calling me. I was just about to tell Henrik I would call the seer after I return from Ash
"I was planning to call him. Did he see something concerning Thor?" I say as I show Henrik the ID of the person calling me before sliding the answering button...
"Uncle Leif. I was just about to call you myself"
"Concerning Thor I presume?"
"Yes... He finds his mate but now can't recognize her anymore. Another she-wolf stole her identity."
"Yeah. I knew this day would come. It has been predestined to happen."
"You knew this day would come and you couldn't have given us a heads up at least! What the fuck Uncle Leif!" I forcefully say in anger
"If I had told you both about it, you would have tried to stop it from happening and that would have been the worst. You don't ever tamper with what has been predestined to happen. It will cause a greater disaster if you had done that."
I take a deep breath to force myself to calm down
"Okay, so what's the next course of action? What are we going to do? We can't just fold our hands and allow this bitch to take over, right?"
"No we can't, I'm afraid. I'm attending a summit with Elias right now. We'll be back in a month and I'll come over as soon as possible."
"A month! We don't have a month, can't you see?! We can't make Ash wait for a month. She might not survive it"
"Ash? Who gave her such a ridiculous name? Isn't her name supposed to be Sif?"
"She was raised by another. It's a long story, let's leave that for now... What do you suggest we do about her? She was devastated when her mate chose another over her. We can't just leave her in that state and let her continue to believe a lie?"
"Yes, we can and that's exactly what we're going to do!
"Have you suddenly gone crazy, Uncle!?... What if something bad happens to her? What am I going to tell Thor when all this deception eventually comes to an end, huh? I'll be sure to tell him to have your head first before coming for mine!"
He sigh heavily then
"I'm not saying you can't be there for her. I'm not saying you can't help her whenever it's necessary. All I'm saying is the situation has to run its course for both their sake! This has to happen for both of them to live a longer life."
"Son of bitch!" I swears loudly in frustration, kicking a nearby bench that was bolted to the floor so hard it uproot and topples over. Henrik see how frustrated I am. I see from the way he's looking at me that he's anxious to know the seer's part of the conversation.
"I know you're angry right now Eric but I hope you remember that I am not the Moon goddess. I don't make the rules. The gift given to me is to see the future and my duty is to show you all the best ways to maneuver the huddles of life so that you don't end up making wrong choices that will hurt you greatly in the future...
I don't want to tell you this before but now I must tell you so that you'll be ready for it...
This is just the beginning for Sif– Ash, whatever you're calling her. The worst is yet to come and there's absolutely nothing anyone can do about it! The bright side is that she will surely come out of it stronger than before.
And secondly, you cannot tell Thor the usurper is not his mate! He has enough burden on his shoulder, we don't want him going crazy and feral because of her. Do you understand me, Eric!?" He asks firmly
"Yes! Yes, I do!"
"Great! We have to let him keep believing the lie until the truth slowly begins to occur to him. It's all for the best"
"You don't seem to worry about this going wrong at all do you?"
He chuckles
I am the seer, remember? I am not worried because Thor already mates with Sif. Believe me, he will never forget and as long as she's alive, he will never be able to mate with any she-wolf. So protect Sif and make sure no harm comes to her so Thor doesn't end up killing us when these shenanigans eventually come to an end
