Fated To A Cursed Alpha King Chapter 44

Diana had been quiet mostly. She never used to speak again. Nobody knew what transpired that night when Jasyn had rushed into her dorm. By the time Theodore and his friend had arrived, Jasyn was lying unconscious on the floor, leaning half of his body on the wall. They stared at Diana who sat on the bed, curled up with a bullied expression on her face. Theodore was trying to understand what had happened, or what was most likely to have happened. Nothing seemed to come to his mind.

"Are you okay?" He finally asked, his voice was very soft and it touched Diana's heart in the tiniest way. She stared into his eyes and she began to sob quietly. Theodore turned to his friend, and the man nodded. He went and grabbed Jasyn's body from the floor and took him out. He was careful to be discreet enough to prevent anyone from seeing since he wouldn't want to spark any wrong reactions from the other soldiers.

Theodore closed the door softly and locked it. He went over to where Diana sat, with her legs folded close to her chest and her arms wrapped around them. The woman was visibly shaken and she couldn't get her mind over what she had just seen. The sight of Jasyn barging into her room to force himself on her was more terrifying than getting Calhoun pissed off.

"Hey, are you okay?" Theodore asked again, sitting in front of her. He reached out to grab her arms and loosened them from around her legs. He grabbed her legs and stretched them over his lap. "Did he hurt you?"

Diana was stuck, watching him act so carefully and treat her so nicely, almost as if she was fragile and could break any time. Why was he being so nice? Didn't they all want to sleep with her? Calhoun had mated with her severally and it didn't change his feelings for her. Jasyn, who had just met her a few days ago, was already barging into her room to forcefully mate with her. Now here was Theodore, the one who looked like an angel, acting so nicely and confusing her.

"You're not saying anything." He said again. "Did he hurt you? Did he touch you anywhere? Do you have a bruise? Are you injured?"

"I..." she wanted to speak but her voice was barely above a whisper and she could feel her throat being blocked. Her eyes were clouded by unshed tears and her heart yearned for comfort. She reached out her hand towards Theodore and wrapped them around his neck, throwing herself into his arms with reckless abandon. If he could offer her comfort, who was she to refuse it?

"Diana..." Theodore called painfully. He was having a hard time controlling himself being alone with her, how come did she now throw herself at him again? Did she think he was incapable of feeling aroused? "This is torture for me as well."

Diana held him even tighter. "He wanted to rape me." She whispered. "It was so scary."

"Don't be scared, I'm here now," Theodore said softly. He began to rub her back soothingly, calming his arousal as well. He could hear her soft whimpers and after a few minutes, her breath became even. He pulled her slowly and laid her on the bed. There was a knock on the door.

He went to open it and he found Julitta and the child at the door.

"Is Diana in? Am I interrupting something?" Julitta asked, her face red as scarlet.

Theodore chuckled. "Not at all. I was only comforting her. Hey, I think you should stay here with her and don't go anywhere okay?"

"Why? What happened?" Julitta asked, stepping into the room. "Why does this place feel so stuffy? What happened to her?"

"She will tell you when she awakes," Theodore said. "For now, I have to leave."

"Commander Theo," Julitta called, stopping the man instantly. "I hope you did nothing to her. Because commander or not, I will fight for Diana until the last drop of my blood."

"That's cute," Theodore said without turning back. "I hope you can do the same if you figured out it was Jasyn who hurt her and not me."

Julitta's eyes went wide as saucers and before she could say anything else, the man had walked away from the door, closing it softly. She frowned a little and then turned to find Diana clutching onto her pillow.

Diana's sleep was restless that night. She couldn't find peace in her sleep, yet she couldn't wake up as well. It was almost as if she was trapped in her sleep where all she could see were nightmares, playing one after the other.

"Diana..." Julitta called softly. "Diana... Wake up."

"Open your eyes, what's going on?"

"Diana... Come on, wake up." Julitta shook her softly. "Diana!"

Julitta sat up in bed, balancing properly. She began to shake Diana vigorously.

"Wake up..."

Diana didn't seem to be waking up and she felt panicked. She didn't know what had happened earlier but she could sense that it wasn't necessarily a good thing. And what did Theodore mean by, could she say the same thing if she found out that it was Jasyn who hurt Diana and not him? What exactly did he mean? Perhaps Jasyn did something hurtful to Diana, but what could he have done? Theodore refused to say anything to her, claiming Diana was going to tell her by herself.

Well now, Diana wasn't waking up, what was she going to do? Diana could not die on her, could she?

"Diana!" She called firmly. "You had better wake up right now!"

Diana growled and her eyes flew open. Julitta swallowed.

"Or maybe you can just sleep a little more, hehe." She said, attempting to smile. Diana's angry eyes began to calm down the moment she noticed it was Julitta and not Jasyn.

"Julie?" She called softly. "Is that you?"

"Yup! It's me alright, what is wrong with you? Were you having a nightmare?"

"Something like that," Diana mumbled under her breath. She felt pain in her chest and she knew something was wrong with Calhoun. Her bond with him seemed to be growing weak, did it mean he was dying?

Why would Calhoun be dying? What could ever make Calhoun die? Should she go to check on him? What if it was just a scheme to get her back to Wisteria?

"Diana..." Julitta called carefully. "You seem to be in deep thought. Penny for your thoughts?"

Diana stared at her. "I'm fine, I just felt like something bad was happening somewhere but I guess it's okay now."

She wasn't going to let anything concerning Calhoun affect her at all. She needed to focus on her reason for joining the army. She had to get close enough to Eugene. She wanted to know the main reason for him starting an army against werewolves, yet placing a werewolf to be the commander.

Also, she had to deal with Jasyn for what he attempted the previous day. She didn't know what gave him the guts and she also hoped that she had somehow not given herself away while defending herself. She didn't know why he didn't get up immediately. Even if he had injured himself, being a werewolf, he was supposed to heal almost immediately. Unless something had affected him, something else had caused him to remain unconscious for that long time. And what could she do about Theodore? She knew that the man liked her.

"Diana, when I came here with Coco, I found Theodore here. He was just about to leave when I arrived. You were asleep." Julitta said. "Did anything happen last night?"

"Nothing that should bother you, Julie."

"Well, it does bother me. Theodore said you were going to tell me if I asked."

"He could have told you himself, why did he shift the responsibility to me?"

Julitta shrugged. "Maybe because it did happen to you and not someone else, it would be in your position to decide who you want to know about it."

"Cute." Came Diana's solo response. "Why did the nurses give Coco back to you?"

"They say he has refused to eat and they didn't wish to starve him so they had to bring him to you," Julitta said, her gaze moving to the child that lay peacefully in the bed. Seriously she felt somehow envious of Diana for having such a calm baby, it gave her the freedom to do whatever she liked to do.

"You don't say." Diana was in thought, once again. Did it mean that Coco could also feel that something was wrong with his father? Wasn't the bond only between two mates? How would Coco feel about what was going on with his father?

"Diana, what is going on?!" Julitta whispered. "Talk to me, I have been sitting here, watching you toss and turn in bed, I have been patiently asking and waiting for your response but you don't even want to let me know. What is wrong?"

"Talk to me, what did Jasyn do? Tell me and I will have his throat slit because of you. If anyone dared to touch you, I would kill them."

"Why?"

"Because you are my friend and soul sister," Julitta answered. "We are in this together. Whatever we own, we own together. And if anyone wants to face death, they should try to come up against you."

"Calm your horses, Julie, no one is dying," Diana said, chuckling a little.

"You have the nerve to laugh. You don't know what I went through, watching you sleep without peace. I would tap you, call you, yet you never did wake up."

"I can tell that something is wrong. Please tell me. At least let me know how to protect you, Coco, and myself in the future. Let me know who our real and potential enemies are."

"What a beautiful speech you got there." Diana teased. "Anyway, I think something is wrong with Coco's father."

"What? How?'

"I can't say. He might be dying."

"Dying?!" Julitta exclaimed. Diana's gaze hardened as she glared at Julitta. Julitta understood immediately and covered her mouth with her hands. She pleaded with her eyes and Diana's gaze softened again.

"How can you tell that he's dying? I mean he's miles apart."

"I can feel it. But that's not all, Jasyn wanted to forcefully mate with me last night."

"Huh? Is he tired of screwing Yolanda that he wishes to screw you too? That bastard!"

"Shh. Don't curse out." Diana warned. "He might just be lurking around the corridor, waiting to hear either of us say anything that could cause us to be punished.

"Oh, but if he tries it, I will ensure that Eugene gets to find out about his attempt," Julitta swore. "He cannot be screwing you and Yolanda at the same time. That is plain disgusting.

"I know," Diana said, chuckling. "But I have a better plan." She waggled her brows at Julitta and the other lady inched closer to her, waiting to hear the plan which Diana had come up with. Diana held her ears and began to whisper some words into them. Julitta's expression showed confusion at the start, then after a while, realization dawned on her.

"Diana, you are a genius!" She exclaimed. "That is so brilliant!"

"I know, I know. But you have to keep it a secret." Diana said.

Julitta suddenly looked back at the door and her expression showed a panicked one. Diana was surprised to see her that way. What was wrong with Diana?

"What's the matter?" She asked. "What happened? Why do you look so panicked?"

Julitta did not reply, she simply got up and walked out of the room. Diana sat there in silence and confusion, wondering what had happened to Julitta.

Suddenly, she walked back into the room, dressed completely differently.

"Where did you go?" Diana asked, scowling at her.

"Oh? Sorry I didn't realize I was supposed to stay and watch you sleep all night. I had only brought Coco and then I left since you both were asleep. I only thought to come and check up on you this morning but it seems you're doing fine." Julitta explained, shrugging her shoulders. She turned and left the room again.
