Just as Noah and the Grave-Digging Ghost both thought Pearl was about to be crushed to death and devoured alive by these Corpse Yin Rats, from beneath their bodies, a sharp and piercing cat roar suddenly rang out.
"MEOW!"
The next second, Pearl was seen directly displaying its divine might, charging out from the encirclement of the Corpse Yin Rats.
The originally petite Pearl, after executing its gigantification divine ability, had its size explosively multiply a hundredfold in an instant. Like a giant elephant, it directly trampled the calf-sized Corpse Yin Rats under its feet.
"Squeak..."
"Squeak squeak!"
The Corpse Yin Rats were already fearful of Pearl to begin with.
They had only dared to charge up because they relied on their size advantage, at this very moment, looking at Pearl whose size was now several times larger than their own, how could they have the slightest courage left? One after another, disregarding everything else, they turned and fled for their lives.
"Heh, wanting to escape?" A cold, ferocious sneer hooked at the corners of Alex’s mouth.
"Pearl, finish them."
"Meow!" Pearl instantly understood. Mustering all its strength into its hind legs, its massive body leaped up. Its two front paws each pinned a Corpse Yin Rat dead to the ground, and with a direct squelch, it bloodily ripped out their internal organs.
A cat catching mice is a universally accepted principle, the most normal thing in the world. Therefore, although the scene of Pearl slaughtering the Corpse Yin Rats was a bit bloody, it did not look out of place at all.
Noah, however, still watched in stunned amazement, saying in horror.
"What... what a formidable cat!"
"Is... is this the Saint Lord’s spirit pet?"
"Heh, that is only natural." The Grave-Digging Ghost glanced at Noah as if looking at a country bumpkin, and said disdainfully.
"The legendary Phantom Heaven Nine-Lives Cat, possessing nine divine abilities and nine lives. How could it possibly not be formidable?"
"Oh?" Alex turned his head and glanced at the Grave-Digging Ghost with deep interest.
"It seems you are quite knowledgeable, to actually understand my Phantom Heaven Nine-Lives Cat so well."
"Hehe, that is only natural." The Grave-Digging Ghost immediately swapped to a face full of flattering smiles.
"Master’s spirit beast is so powerful, who under the heavens would not know of it?"
"For a little ghost like me to be able to work for Master is truly a special honor cultivated over three lifetimes."
After taking care of the Corpse Yin Rats, Alex recalled Pearl, and under the Grave-Digging Ghost’s guidance, continued walking deeper into the tomb chamber.
Perhaps it was because Pearl had just gone on a killing spree, and the pile of corpses left behind released pheromones that terrified the other creatures from showing their faces.
Regardless, they were not subjected to any further attacks along the way, they proceeded unimpeded straight to the deepest part of the tomb chamber.
At the deepest part stood another tall, massive Bronze Door, identical to the one outside, even through the heavy door, Alex could sense that the aura of spiritual energy had reached an absolute extreme.
The treasure he had been longing for was clearly right behind it.
"Master, this door is just like the one from before. It is purely a defensive restriction without any counterattack capabilities." The Grave-Digging Ghost said with a cheeky grin.
"Please, Saint Lord, display your divine abilities once more and blast this Bronze Door open!"
"Alright." Alex narrowed his eyes, gripping the magatamas in his palms, with swords swirling around his body.
"Divine Magatama, Annihilate!"
Under the bombardment of tens of thousands of magatamas and the subsequent secondary explosion, these Bronze Door panels, just like the previous ones, directly crashed down.
However, the instant the door collapsed, Alex and Noah both felt a bone-piercing chill, unable to stop themselves from shivering.
Alex focused his gaze and could not help but reveal a look of astonishment.
In front of the Bronze Door, along the path they had walked, the surroundings were all gloomy tomb passages permeated with damp and rotting scents.
Yet shockingly, behind this door was a world of ice and snow, the ground was frozen with a thick layer of ice, and every inch of the surrounding walls was covered in solid ice.
Behind the Bronze Door seemed to be a completely new world, permeated everywhere with a cold and pure aura.
Alex narrowed his eyes and slowly walked into this ice-sealed space, looking left and right at the surrounding walls, he could not help but be secretly shocked. Dozens of human figures were sealed within these layers of ice.
These people were all burly, robust men wearing thick armor, clearly soldiers and generals who once galloped across the battlefield.
However, judging from their armor and weapons, they were obviously not military generals of the Heavenly Flame Dynasty.
Rather, they looked more like the self-developed weapons and armor of some foreign tribes.
"These people... No, they are not people, but zombies." The Grave-Digging Ghost explained in a deep voice.
"They are the trusted generals under Quill’s command, who helped Quill expand his territory and commit numerous atrocities."
"Therefore, when that Great Emperor sealed Quill, he also sealed all these zombies here as well."
"To prevent them from continuing to cause chaos and harm people after Quill was sealed."
Alex nodded and walked past these ice-sealed zombies as if nothing was wrong.
Noah, on the other hand, being stared at directly by pair after pair of eyes, felt rather uncomfortable all over.
Passing by the group of ice-sealed zombies, they arrived at the end of this ice-sealed world.
Frozen within a high wall of profound ice before them was a coffin.
This coffin was roughly two meters long, forged entirely from bronze, and engraved with patterns of roaring lions, between the gap of the coffin lid and the main body, a long talisman paper was sealed, densely covered in crooked Sacred writing.
Floating in front of the coffin was a dark blue heart, its every vein clearly visible, even separated by a thick layer of ice, Alex could clearly sense the tyrannical spiritual energy radiating from this heart.
"That is right..." A fanatical glint flowed in Alex’s eyes, and he said excitedly.
"This is exactly... what I was looking for!"
