Diana hurried to her office by taking the back stairs. She didn't want her employees to see her in her party clothes. Within minutes his leather pants had been replaced by a designer suit with a nice pair of Italian shoes.
Diana took the elevator down to the conference room, but as soon as she walked through the door, she knew something was wrong. The men who were there when she entered radiated an uneven vibe. The vibe that told him they weren't human.
There were three of them, all wearing dark glasses, all exuding danger.
Ellen handed him the file.
“Thanks, it's great. Why don't you take the rest of the day off?
"Didn't you need to take a few minutes for this meeting?"
"I think we're going to get along just fine." This is just going to be an informal chat to get the ball rolling. Go ahead, now go spend some time with your family.
Giving him an awkward look, she let him escort her to the door and close it behind her. Diana knew there would be questions later, but now the issue of staying with security was resolved.
- Very good. ’ The tall man in the middle stepped forward – Lorenzo Delora at his service. They shook hands, each sizing the other up with a look.
Lorenzo nodded to his associates.
“And these are James and Lucas.
- Nice to meet you. Diana said with a nod to the two men as she sat down on the opposite side of the conference table. "Is there a particular reason Three Wolves are on property sales?"
Lorenzo looked at the human in surprise. In all the scenarios he had in his head, none of them involved a gorgeous woman in a designer suit quizzing them with a look because they were wolves.
The fact that she had removed her assistant, leaving her alone in the room with them, did not escape Lorenzo's attention. Despite identifying what they really were, they were non-human and that they showed no signs of fear.
Interesting. Regardless, the wolf was impressed by the slight woman before him.
"Do you know about wolves?"
She gave him a sweet, dimpled smile.
- Yes.
With that Diana opened the folder as if that were the end of the conversation.
Seconds later, the door burst open and two wolves rushed in, one was dark in a leather jacket and pants, the other was blond and dressed like his blood mate. By rising up to defend against this new enemy. Instinctively he had pulled the small blonde to his feet and placed him behind him.
“What are you two doing? Diana's calm voice had her tilting her head to look at the elegant man.
"Do you know who these two are?"
"I think they belong to my boyfriend."
- Boyfriend?
The two wolves looked at them. “I'm Seven and this is Peter. He is Michel's partner. - The blonde said. “If you harm him, blood will run in the streets between our clans.
"That's a pretty sight," said a dry voice behind him.
He was really starting to like the little human. Michel was the most powerful alpha in America and if this was their girl, then they had better tread carefully.
Lorenzo was surprised when the blonde walked around him to face the two who entered. "As much as I appreciate you guys coming to the rescue." Her tone indicated that she didn't appreciate it at all. “You interrupted a meeting I was having with these gentlemen.
"We were sent to protect you," the blond said.
Diana let out a sigh.
- Right. Sit there. She indicated a few seats at the end of the table with a wave of her hand.
"Where's your collar?" A human has always had a collar from its owner. Lorenzo asked.
— All I wanted was a nice business meeting. Not a supernatural soap opera.
Diana growled. “I don't have a collar. Michel and I are still working on our relationship.
“She's a new mate. "I said what I thought was Seven."
Lorenzo gasped.
"Why is he allowed to go out on his own?"
He demanded the two guard wolves. Whoever captured this pretty little blonde would hold the key to controlling the most powerful wolf in America.
“Because she's a grown woman. Diana said, leaning back in her chair and flipping through the paperwork. “Now about your property. I think the price is a little too high.
- It's yours. - Alesandro cut. It would be a blow to their small group to start out in Michel's good graces.
- No. I'll give you a fair price. My relationship with Michel is new enough. I don't want to start with him owing anyone. Diana was sitting at the table and turned her body so she could watch the two wolf packs.
Lorenzo nodded.
- It's fair. His eyes sparkled with curiosity as he asked, "How new is your relationship?"
“It all started yesterday.
“That's new.
Diana shrugged.
“Now, if you gentlemen will sit down we can finish our negotiations.
The rest of the meeting went well, the wolves were willing to go down on Diana's prices. After all, if they were willing to give it to her, why not let her have it for whatever price she mentioned. Diana found herself liking Lorenzo. The wolf was polite and calm and didn't let a little thing like the growling of Michel's wolves bother him. You had to admire a man who could negotiate under pressure.
Satisfied with the deal, Diana decided to quote an idea she had.
“I was wondering if you'd be interested in a proposal. Diana said leaning back in her chair.
"What kind of proposal?" the wolf asked, mirroring Diana's casual attitude.
“I was wondering if you'd be willing to be a consultant.
"What would I be being consulted about, and about what?" Lorenzo tilted his expression unreadable but interested.
“About my new hotel, the one I'm building on your old property, it's going to be the only hotel for paranormals. I would like to have specialized rooms for different types of races. I obviously have a few shifters I've been able to ask about their accommodations, but not other beings. Would you be interested in being my consultant on this item?
- What I have to do?
Diana shrugged.
“Answer my questions when I call. I have drawn up a preliminary list of needs for vampires and other species so that I can design rooms accordingly, you will have to be available to give me answers. Almost everything can be done remotely.
- I'll do it. Lorenzo announced. — With the proviso that I can always stay at the hotel:
Free of charge, of course.
