The only sound being heard was the clinking of spoons and forks as they hit the plate. Kelly, my brother's girlfriend, in her characteristics way, had immediately whipped up lunch for everyone.
Debbie and boon yi flanked Danny's side and paid more attention to him than to their food. Kelly engaged me In a small talk, if she noticed the unnecessary attention my friends were giving to her boyfriend, she acted like she didn't Care.
Well I actually admired that.
I think I'm gonna be some possessive clingy bitch when I finally get a boyfriend. The thought of another bitch clinging to my boyfriend annoyed me to no end.
Speaking of annoyance, that SOB, Dray god wouldn't even let me be. He kept trying to meet my eyes, and rubbing his feet under mine from under the table.
I totally ignored him, vowing not to give him the satisfaction he wanted.
It'd interest you to know that Dave also stopped by to have lunch with us. He was sitting besides Kelly.
The only thing he'd said so far was to compliment Kelly's cooking, which by the way was superb.
Remind me to take culinary lessons from this girl before she leaves.
After lunch, Danny excused boon and debbie
Debbie, now that Danny had excused himself,turned her attention to dray god. I rolled my eyes as I watched my friend flirt shamelessly with my brother's best friend. Boon stabbed sulkily at her food now there was no one to talk to. I was oddly quiet, I used to be a chatter box during lunch, but maybe It was because Dave was in the same dining room as me made me subdued.
I turned to talked to Kelly,I met Dave's eyes.
"Kelly...I was w..." My throat dried up as I met his eyes. He looked away immediately like it was a taboo to look at me.
"You were what Cori?" Kelly's soft voice interrupted me.
"Uhm..." I snatched my eyes from his side profile, managing a smile for Kelly. My brain had gone blank, the question I had in mind had evaporated into thin air.
"Oh!" She exclaimed suddenly,her eyes widening as she glanced at me and then at Dave.
"No!" I countered, shaking my head furiously. A huge smile broke out on her face, I felt like tugging at my curls and pulling hard.
I stood up quickly and excused myself and hurried off to the kitchen. Once in the kitchen, I was able to take a deep breath. It felt like I had been suffocating in the dining room. I nearly screamed when I noticed a movement behind me. It was only Danny.
"What are you doing here?!" I whisper yelled at him. He shrugged slightly
"Your friends are devils,if you ask me." He whispered back.
"It's not my fault you're too good looking?!"
"Ah! You admit I'm hot?!"
"Oh shut up?! Why are we even whispering?!" I raked my fingers through my hair, biting on my lower lips.
"I don't know!"
"Why are you guys even in here?" Damian asked, leaning against the doorway,a plastic cup in his hands.
"That is non of your business!" I snapped impatiently, moving to the sink to wash my hands.
"Oh c'mon Cori, your friends bother ME so much. I wonder why they don't bother Damian." Danny whined, pouting.
Other girls would have found it sexy, but eew! He's my brother. He's so eeuw!
"Tip for Debbie, talk boring. She hates boring guys." I said smacking my hand on my forehead.
"By Debbie, you mean the very thick one with pink hair?" Damian interrupted me with a lascivious grin. My eyes narrowed as I walked to him and jabbed his arm very hard.
"You will stop flirting with my friends!" I snapped,before snatching the plastic cup in his hands and gulping down the juice in it.
"Thanks best sister in the world, whose friends won't leave me alone." Danny said walking out of the kitchen.
"You're welcome sweet brother who's gonna leave me alone with his shitty best friend!" I called after him rolling my eyes.
I took a deep breath as I turned to look at Damian who was grinning like smug fool.
"Don't try anything funny now. I know karate." I hissed, when he began to walk toward me.
"Yiu couldn't even give me a proper welcome babe." His voice was now husky, I groans inwardly.
This idiot would never learn,would he?
"You really want a sweet welcome from me?" I said sweetly, with an evil smirk on my face.
"Uhm, not really. Not with that look on your face tho." He is grin had turn from flirty to genuine.
"How's it been man?" I asked,leaning on the counter and observing him. He had a two day old stubble on his chin, it kinda made him look hot, and his hair was much more longer now.
"Great great. How's school stuff?"
"Great." I said in a bored voice, Rolling my eyes.
"So by great, does that include the guy in the dining room?" He emphasized the 'guy' with a drawl. I sat straight instantly.
"What do you know about him?" I asked sharply, my voice had taken it's 'Cori' tune, daring Damian to hide whatever info he had about Dave.
"Geezo, easy babe." He started laughing. I Sighed loudly. I was making it pretty obvious i liked Dave.
"I don't like him." I told Damian quietly. His brow raised an inch.
"You didn't have to tell me babe, I saw it in the way you looked at him."
My cheeks began to burn, and I turned to glare at him.
"I wasn't looking at him?!" I yelled, quite unnecessarily. That only seemed to amuse the idiot more for he continued laughing.
I stomped af his feet angrily,before breezing out of the kitchen.
I went back to the dining room, Debbie,boon and Danny were absent. Dave and Kelly were engrossed in a deep conversation.
I felt my heart flutter in jealousy. The way Kelly was able to get close to him within an hour of meeting him. Well I've been with him for almost two weeks now and we had never talked liked that.
A little gasp left my lips as I saw the look Dave was giving KElly. The jerk had a crush on her!
They must have heard my gasp for the both of them turned to look at me. His face became void of any emotion when he saw me.
Do I disgust him that much? I thought I had apologized? Oh right! My apology was interrupted by some jerks.
"Wow Cori, turns out that Dave paints!" Kelly exclaimed excitedly, smiling broadly at him. My spine stiffened in anger. Was Kelly flirting with Dave? Wasn't she supposed to have a boyfriend?
"And you know I'm crazy about paintings..." Kelly continued while I struggled to prevent my plastered smile from slipping.
"Yay great Dave." His eyes met mine for a second and I looked away quickly, my heart thudding in my chest.
"Shouldn't you be leaving now Dave?" I turned to Dave, giving my most sweet smile. "I mean its getting really late now." My smile nearly slipped when I saw him roll his shoulder in a shrug.
"I guess I should start going Kelly. It was actually nice talking to you." He stood up, pucking up his bag.
This dude acted like I wasn't even in the room!!
I clicked my tongue loudly as I watched him kiss Kelly's hand.
Flirting idiots!
I stormed out of dinning room, out of the house and into the garage. I stood beside his bike, fuming angrily.
He soon came out, looking amused.
"Cool family you've got here." He said picking up his helmet. I scowled at him before taking a step towards him,
"Stay away from my brother's girlfriend " I used the most deadly voice I could muster. Well I don't think it was deadly enough because the mofo burst out laughing. I grit my teeth in anger and fought the urge to punch him.
"You're funny Corine "
"Cori!" I snapped at him. He looked confused do a while
"You say what?"
"You called me Corrine, I wouldn't do that if I were you." My eyes had narrowed as I clenched my fist.
"Well, its unfortunate you're not me. Corrine." He looked into my face, daring me. I stared back too,fighting the anger bubbling up within me.
I swear to god I almost had it under control, until the idiot smirked.
Then I pushed him. It wasn't a strong push, the one I'd have love to give him. It was a little feeble push
"Ouch! How feisty. I think the push actually moved my ribs" His eyes were sparkling with amusement. I shut my eyes tightly and counted to ten, breathing deeply.
When I opened my eyes, he was smirking
"Just stay away from Kelly you ass hole!" With a groan I turned around and walked away.
"Jealous much huh?!" He called after me before laughing. I didn't reply,I didnt look at him, I raised my middle finger high above my head.
As I walked into the house, I could still hear his laughter. I couldn't help but smile.
Well this reunion wasn't so bad after all.
