Intertwined Destinies: The Alpha and the Omega Chapter 8

There was no way out, we were completely doomed was what I presumed, everything after that turned out to feel so uncertain and so far from one's own life that one could even come to feel that it was almost certain that we would have no future.

By fate, despite the obvious fear, I still remained strong and with a cold head because looking at Lina trembling the way she did forced me to fight against whatever I wanted to hurt her, because I simply could not allow her to be hurt.

What moved me even more was to notice that just like me Lyall had the same thought preserving that girl's life was fundamental.

The tension was increasing more and more and next to it an unusual heaviness could be perceived in the environment.

The air around felt extremely saturated, charging as if death had settled on us and kept covering us with its veil, approaching perhaps like an old friend running to meet us and…

Pof!

Lina could no longer stand so much accumulated information that the experience provided her because as if it were a short circuit her mind simply disconnected fainting on the spot.

"No, no... now don't " scream knowing what could possibly happen thanks to that disadvantage.

As I could I managed to hold her and keep her attached to my body while I struggled not to move away from that man.

Now, I was aware of one thing, my forces were few, so it was only a matter of time until the incidence of gravity ended up taking both of us to the ground, thus completely taking away any opportunity to escape.

For the first time the tension began to show on Lyall's face after observing out of the corner of his eye how Lina lay completely unconscious.

Perhaps it was seeing us so unprotected before assuming that this probably prompted her very courage that she was not afraid to react.

He no longer cared about anything else, so he quickly directed his head to that wolf and firmly planted himself and, like that one, placed himself in an attacking position.

"Emma, just hold on a little longer, for the world's sake do not turn away from her. "

I confidently retort those words of prayer which came out of him with such strength and confidence that it seemed inevitable to assume that help would soon arrive.

Now, when it would be, I questioned it, fearing that everything would happen in the end when it would be too late or when there would be no turning back.

Without thinking too much, I took Lina's body and dragged it until we hit the bar wall.

The door that allowed access was still quite removed, so going to her carrying her was more than a dilemma and there I hugged her in a corner placing my body as a shield over her.

In the worst of situations it was the only thing I could think, because I am aware that with my strength there was little I could do to protect both of us, but despite this I was not afraid of kicking to face my cruel fate in exchange for her to live.

I refused to allow myself to be weak because this time again there was a completely innocent life involved in a fight of which I was not a participant and in which I should not have been.

Both Lyall and that wolf started a strange game, openly challenging each other until they started that irremediable and destructive contest.

From where I was, I dedicated myself fully to observing them, being able to notice how the rage and the fire of the fight increases its intensity.

The heat of the battle began to burn and in the worst way leaving doubts and hopelessness to swim at its mercy.

Until that moment Lyall had still kept his composure, his body had not even been torn because he had not made the slightest attempt to reveal his true skin.

So far that one had faced that wolf acting idiotically at last as a human, but we both knew that if nothing changed he would get if he really tried to protect you because it is almost impossible that the one in his human form could even hurt that wolf.

And... well they both started walking and again the distance between them was shortened until finally missing a few centimeters Lyall for the first time in front of me released his beast a wolf of mixed fur the closest thing to a mountain one emerged.

The colors in it stood out strongly probably due to some other genetic modification inherited from its predecessors.

So finally a battle to the death was raised before me, the grunts next to the groans of both after each bite wounds could even shake my skin in the worst way.

I was just asking for it to end, for it to come to an end and like an impulse I completely took hold of Lina, I squeezed her with all my strength and closed my eyes so I wouldn't have to contemplate such an act of cruelty.

I still don't understand what happened at all, to a large extent I don't know, but I am aware of one thing; after feeling an impulse on my skin when I perceived the agitated breathing of something in front of me, I was forced to open my eyes.

My curiosity led me to contemplate how a wolf with a completely white coat and eyes in a yellow tone lay there with his gaze fixed on my person, he growled with suspicion and doubts.

That wolf stayed like that for a moment until out of nowhere after my eyes rested on his, the sounds coming from his muzzle finally got married, increasing my confusion even more.

When I least expected it, I saw him turn his back on me to go to the battlefield where the fight between the first two took loose reins, leaving that contest to be before anything couple.

Equality no longer existed because it was no longer one against one, but the disadvantage had become imminent.

A halo of gloominess and blood surrounded the entire top of the mountain along with the darkness that characterizes it after such events.

The fight as it escalated became more and more violent, the grunts were even capable of overshadowing any other sound in its path without leaving room for error.

Before them there was nothing at all that could be overcome after such an extreme speed.

The chaos that ensued was overwhelming and terrifying and the options that awaited were simply to fight or die.

Finally, the end of the fight was approaching, I understood it perfectly after seeing how that black wolf had been completely cornered.

Although such was evident and imminent after finally losing the battle that wolf in spite of everything simply would not surrender so easily since even being against a rock and a hard place he was still fighting, he was still taking risks.

The other two wolves both Lyall and the stranger kept challenging him thinking that after such an action at some point he would finally surrender, but no, rather he was just calculating what his next move to make would be.

Presumably, his life mattered little to him, not to say that he cared nothing, because after a simple oversight after the white wolf turned his head in the direction of me, that black wolf, taking advantage of the opening that was between the two, ran straight against him breaking such a barrier and thus went straight to me as if there were no tomorrow.

That wolf ran without resting while I was still there I had been completely stunned.

In her eyes it was inevitable not to contemplate the sigh of death because she knew that if he managed to reach us, we could not face him against his robust body.

I sighed and as if there was no other option I clung to Lina's body as hard as I could and I did with a simple movement that my body was almost on top of hers because I didn't care what it cost me she had to live.

I really came to think that my death was imminent; with fear, with distrust there I stayed completely still guarding it.

Time ran became eternal, the sound of the grunts did not cease and perhaps because of the same tension I, like Lina, completely lost consciousness.

Minutes later I finally woke up, but ultimately as part of my uncontrolled life I plunged back into an unusual dilemma.

When I opened my eyes I had to face the fact that I was almost floating, which gave the impression that I was undoubtedly wrapped perhaps in the arms of someone who held me tightly to his chest as if wanting not to move away from me.

With concern I fixed my eyes on my possible savior bringing me the surprise of my life.

"You! "i mused as my mouth kept opening.

"This is not how you greet your savior. "

"Excuse me! I couldn't help but say it, but in any case, what are you doing here" I questioned when I saw him.

The man who was there was not just any man, but it was precisely the same one that I did not want to run into, that alpha with whom I had met some time before in the middle of that road.

"They told me that a little she-wolf and a human had gotten into trouble and had come to check it out with my own eyes. "

"We in trouble, not at all, he was the one who appeared out of nowhere and threatened both Lyall's life and ours. "

Reluctantly I turned my face in the opposite direction to avoid his eyes because I didn't want to have to see him, although after all it was inevitable.

"You are so arisca, no doubt you are a wolf. "

Faced with his answer I could do nothing but take a deep breath and calm down since throwing a tantrum at that moment was not the most advisable, because first I was facing a wolf much stronger than me and second with much more authority because the truth I was a simple stranger whose voice had no weight whatsoever.

"Since I am obviously fine because you do not lower me like this, your delicate body will not be bruised by the weight of an unknown your majesty. "

I said wanting to get away from him in a somewhat sarcastic way.
