At the point when we returned to the city, I figured it might work out great for me; however, as Cooper left me once more, saying that he'll host a get-together before what will happen tomorrow, I completely lost it, and I called my sibling Luke to make me quiet down. Presently, we're in a bar with Rylie and Maureen. I've previously told my brother last time that he'll have an accomplice as he strolls down the walkway, and that is my previous colleague. They just met each other this evening, so they felt more abnormal than at any time in recent memory. I just advised him to make my companion agreeable, which, as a respectable man, he did.
"So what will happen tomorrow?" Rylie asked energetically, as she's one of my bridesmaids.
"I don't have the foggiest idea what will occur, moronic," I said, being the troublemaker that I am.
"You ought to realize that after the butterflies in general and daylight for later, there will be a hot and blazing occasion during the night for you two," she said as she laughed.
I shut my eyes as I understood what she was talking about. Shoot! There will be a vacation after all of the party tomorrow. I didn't actually contemplate that. All I'm thinking about right now is what I ought to say about my vow.
Only some time ago, Mother informed me to get ready for a vow since I'll require it once the minister requests it tomorrow, and I really can't imagine any sort of promise that I will tell him.
"How would you compose a commitment, like a vow?" I asked Rylie out of nowhere.
She wheezed and ultimately giggled at me.
"Try not to let me know you're not even ready for it," she said, and I gestured on the double, so that made her eyes augment.
"You ought to think of one," she encouraged me.
"Be that as it may, where would it be advisable for me to start?" I inquired.
"You ought to begin with how you had an outlook on him previously," Maureen out of nowhere replied, and that made me and Rylie check her out. She's been listening the entire time, while Luke's been drinking for some time now. It seems as though he's the final straggler, living it up.
"How could I even tell that to so many individuals?" I said it disgustingly.
It felt so messy, and I don't believe that should happen tomorrow. I simply need a quiet and serious wedding for myself; there's nothing more to it.
"You ought to likewise essentially consider what your significant other looks like when he hears it later," she made sense of further.
"Have you been to a wedding?" Rylie asked her.
All at once, Maureen brought her head down and replied.
"I'm the person who's, as of now, married."
Rylie and I made Maureen recount any of her romantic tales. It just so happens—I dislike that. Very much like me, she got restricted in an organized marriage, and as of not long ago, she was unable to try and track down the method for adoring her significant other. She's simply thinking about dealing with him in the event that she has a second since that man saved her family from conceivable liquidation previously. Amazing, appalling.
"So what would it be advisable for me to write in this one?" I asked her.
"You ought to let him know how you feel and let him know the words you left inferred even previously," she really said before she made one effort of tequila.
There's a smidgen of torment in her voice after saying that, and it caused me to understand that she wants somebody to remove her from that spoiled marriage of hers. All of a sudden, I have a thought. Perhaps I'll conceal it for the present and simply uncover it in the event that I at last consent to it myself.
We just went through the entire evening moving and drinking shots of tequila until we got squandering. My wedding is still in the early evening, so we actually have a great deal of time to spend before I get back home to the penthouse. Rylie is now moving on the floor, and she even pulled the timid Maureen to hit the dance floor with her. They were living it up as I watched them from our parlor when Luke tapped my shoulders like he was bidding them farewell.
"Try not to do that," I irritatingly murmured.
"I can't completely accept that you're getting hitched, rabbit," he said, in any event, holding my hand like valuable gold.
"I won't move out of your loft," I expressed. "Ensure my things are all still there when I get back."
He snickered at it and just gestured before he laid his head on my shoulder and murmured.
"I simply trust that all will be well later," he said before he shut his eyes and rested.
Me as well. I trust everything will be great.
I just hope so.
…
I awakened feeling a little woozy the following day, and before I knew where I was at this moment, I previously saw my mother attempting to tell a portion of the workers that she'd struggle with attempting to hold them back from causing problems. So, she's reprimanding each and everybody here. I quickly got up from the bed and advised them to disappear first since I actually didn't need them around.
My mom jeered in dismay and talked.
"You really want to prepare now; it's now nine a.m." she said, like a request.
"Mother, this is my wedding, and I can go there regardless of whether I have any of those extreme make-ups," I said as I prepared my wedding dress without anyone else. I likewise put out the heels that I'll wear today.
I can detect that she's beginning to get pissed about my mentality at this moment, but she's attempting to contain herself so as not to overindulge the occasion for now.
"He's a werewolf; do you definitely have some familiarity with that?" She unexpectedly began discussing it.
I stopped briefly and checked her out.
"What about you, mother? Have you definitely had some significant awareness of it since the day of my unexpected commitment party?" I asked back.
She raised an eyebrow and looked at me without flinching. Her eyes have been so cold since their experience with the vampire from the north and the day she killed a blameless one. I never anticipated that she should be this serious, yet she's beginning to freak the hell out of me, so I just feigned exacerbation with my dress. I've actually got a ton of time before two PM.
I'm in the middle of doing my thing as of now; however, I halted when she said something once more.
"I killed his mom," she admitted out of nowhere.
Out of disarray, I took a gander at her once more and advised her to rehash what she recently said.
"I said I killed her mom during the experience with those vampires from the north," she expressed briskly without checking me out.
My lips separated as I understood what she was referring to. That werewolf that my mom coincidentally killed...
was Cooper's mom.
I can barely handle it.
So the thing am I doing here? Am I simply one more bill that they can pay for what they did before?
I jeered in dismay. I felt my knees become more vulnerable, and I fell in a flash to the floor. Mother attempted to help me, yet I halted her right away.
"You're expressing that right before I'm all going to stroll into that goddamn walkway?" I practically hollered, attempting to contain my outrage.
She just stayed quiet and chilly, very much like it was her typical thing to do. I can't stand it when she does that, at whatever point she's to blame. It causes me to feel like I ought to be paying for what she did as well, despite the fact that being that way is not assumed.
"You're actually going to wed him," she said with irrevocability.
"Does Father have some familiarity with this?" I asked furiously this time. Once more, she stayed quiet, and I suppose that is all there is to it. The two of them understand what's going on, but they don't appear to make any kind of difference either way.
I can't stand them.
I disdain every one of them for destroying my temper today.
I assumed I would have been the most joyful lady right now since I must wed somebody I like; however, it just so happens that I'm still my family's article that they can just effectively discard.
What the fuck.
…
I'm still sitting in my bed, ever since my mom left my room. Cooper chose a garden wedding for us, and it'll be about fifteen minutes away from here. I've still never had the chance to see him when they called me for breakfast. The whole penthouse is full of people arranging all of my stuff, but here I am, in my bedroom, sitting with my dress while looking out at the forest through my window.
I'm still trying to digest everything that my mom told me just a while ago. She left me all alone now in here and told me that I should breathe now, but how can I do that when she just told me that the person she killed was the mother of the man whom I'm going to marry?
I felt so ashamed and embarrassed by the thought of it. If anyone can transparently see my mind right now, they'll be in chaos too.
I don't know what to think about my mom anymore.
I can't say that she's horrible because she only did that out of anger for all the things that those monsters did to me, but the thought that I'm the reason why Cooper's mother is dead made me feel so disappointed.
The door opened, and I saw Rylie looking at me worriedly. She's with Maureen, and they're both already in robes while waiting for their turn to get themselves ready.
"Why are you still here?" she said as she stroked my wet hair. I took a bath earlier, but I'm still drenched right now.
"It's just that I'm worried that I might not look as pretty as what they expected," I lied about it.
"Stop saying that," Rylie said as she held my hand. "You'll be the most beautiful woman in that garden later."
They both assured me and even pushed me to get myself ready, which I did. When I got out of the room, people stopped what they were doing and immediately helped with everything they needed to do.
They made me sit on a couch where I was comfortable enough, and they told me to just relax the whole time, which I did. They only stopped doing anything when my mom came back from—I don't know where she went—and when she saw me, she told the staff to move faster and faster.
It's already 12:30, and they're only halfway through putting makeup and such on me. The ceremony will start at 2 p.m., and even Jamaica, which I didn't even notice a while ago, is now panicking because there might be a delay if something happens.
I just told them to relax, and the groom will never go anywhere away from me. They kept doing everything at a fast pace, and I'm already ready to go at 1:30 p.m.
They were smiling at me as they took a picture of me. The dress that I chose before fits me perfectly. It felt like it was absolutely made for me.
I looked at the mirror and saw a beautiful woman in her wedding dress, ready to get married today. The eye make-up that they chose for me screams elegance as it is a combination of gold and silver color. My lips look fiery wearing a red one. I felt like a goddess.
The only thing left for me was my veil. I already saw it a while ago, and it is attached to the crown that my parents gave me during my coronation as one of the heiresses of our generation.
Mom is slowly walking towards me, and I can say that she's doing it dramatically since the camera is on and we're filming everything about the wedding.
As she placed the crown on my head, she said something.
"Don't you ever let your guard down," she said as she smiled sweetly.
I bit my lips as I tried to understand what she meant by that. But I don't have the time for it, as Jamaica told us that I should be downstairs now. Rylie and Maureen are with me in the elevator, and Maureen is holding my bouquet of flowers. She looked pretty, and I think even my brother would be stunned when he saw how beautiful this woman is. We've already arrived in the front lobby, and as the elevator opened, a red carpet welcomed us, along with all of the people working in this building who were lined up while waiting for me to walk to the limousine.
"Gosh, they treated you like a princess," Rylie giggled.
I smiled a bit before I walked down the carpet, and they even congratulated me on the wedding. When we reach the limo, both Rylie and Maureen get in another van while I'm all alone in this long car. Ruel is still the driver that I picked for today's event. Just then I saw Maureen approaching the car I'm in, and she eventually knocked on my window.
I opened it and asked.
"What is it now?"
"I wanted to give you this," she said as she handed me a big red box.
"What is this?" I asked.
"You can open it on the way to the venue," she smiled at me again before she walked away.
The car engine started, and now I'm already on my way to my wedding. Just like Maureen said, I opened the box, and I smiled widely as I picked up the picture of me and her on the bench of our university. It's the day I stopped bullying her. She wrote a note in it saying, "You should smile like this one often."
I felt a sudden warmth in my heart upon reading it. She did realize and notice that I'm not like what I used to be before.
The car stops in front of a big garden, where I can totally see the whole design and arrangement of it. The seats were all in white, and even the flowers were decorated neatly, just like I told Mrs. LaCroix. The carpets are not red, but they are beige with a touch of pink. Everything just felt enchanted upon seeing the whole outcome of it. I'm now ready to get out of the car, but Jamaica came inside and gave me instructions that I should wait until Rylie and Cooper's young brother walk halfway down the aisle before I get out of the car. My father is already waiting for me, and I can already see Mom on the other side too.
I totally forgot that both of them would send me to the altar.
Just as Jamaica told me, I waited for all of them to walk down the aisle, and when I noticed that Rylie was halfway through the aisle, I got out, and my father immediately helped me with my gown. He clings to my arm, and he's left with nothing to say. Meanwhile, my mom couldn't even smile; she just looked so cold too.
When the announcer gave us a cue, the door in front of us opened, and I immediately saw from afar how stunning Cooper was as his hair was pushed back and his eyes looked even more blue. She's waiting for me like a prince, and I just felt that everything around me felt so slow, and all I can see is him right in the middle waiting for me.
His poker face is still attractive to look at, and as I reached the end of the aisle just to face him, I almost felt a tear leave my eye. His gaze never left me, and as the priest or whatever man stood in front of us, his gaze remained on me.
"Will you stop looking?" I whispered.
"You look elegant, just like I expected," he praised me before he finally faced the man in front of us.
I didn't even think about anything until the man in front of me asked me first. I immediately said yes, and so did he. I felt like I was on cloud nine, and the only thing I could possibly think of was how much this event would mean to me. We eventually exchange rings, and now we are down to the last part of this ceremony—the vow that I almost forgot to do last night.
The man gave the mic to Cooper, and I was just watching him closely as he began to speak.
"My love," he said in his stern voice. I can't help but clear my throat.
"I don't know what the future may bring, but I promise I'll never let you go. Hold on so tight to me as we go on with our lives. You're the only reason that I could even want to live, and I'm hoping I'll also be your light on every dark path that you may take."
I can feel the sincerity in his eyes, even though it's just a little. He then gave me the mic, and I, on the other hand, got something out of my pockets. Yup, I wrote my vow on a piece of tissue paper last night while I was still sober and kept it in my pocket just in case I got wasted. I'm just glad I never lost it.
"Ysmael." I called him by his second name, and I can see how his eyes got a hint of shock when he heard me.
"For the past few weeks we've been together, I know I've not been good enough for you. I have a lot of shortcomings, and even now I know you're still anxious about whether I might run away from you or just simply stay. All I have to say is that you don't need to do anything. Just wait for me, and I'll come to you. I'll always come to you this time, and when things get rough, I promise I'll be right here fighting and rooting for you. I just want to let you know that you have me until my last breath, my lover."
He stared at me for a few minutes before he came to his senses when the man called him. He's still stealing glances at me even though we're already done saying our vows.
"And by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you men and wives. You may now kiss the bride," the man said, and all I can hear is the applause of many people watching the whole ceremony until the very end.
He removed my veil and cupped my face. Seconds later, I felt his lips touching mine. He moved his lips, and I did too. I licked his lower lip before we pulled apart. His lips are now so red, and just when he looked a few inches away from my face, he suddenly smiled.
A genuine one.
"I have you, until our very last breath," he uttered before kissing me again.
