Loving Little Miss Bloodsucker Chapter 21

After the incident happened on the beach, I've never gotten to talk to him properly since he's been teasing me all the time about what happened, and he's been calling me "weak" for about three days now. It just turns out that I don't want to bring up what I did anymore out of humiliation and embarrassment. I admit I like the sensation he gave my body at that moment, but I don't want to experience it again one of these days.

I'm a little scared about it. I don't know if there will be a time when I would want to experience that kind of sensation in my body, but I know one thing for sure: I don't want to do that as of now. You see, although my mind felt comfortable with Cooper when he did that, my body reacted in opposition. It seems like I'm still not in the right state to offer myself to someone after what happened.

Not even now.

The following days began easier for us, and all I have felt for almost a week now is the relaxation and freedom that I never got to experience when we were in the city. Here, I can do whatever I want, and even though Cooper is still asleep in our bedroom, he will tell me to go outside if I get bored waiting for him.

We were just like that during the whole first week of our stay here.

"What do you want to do right now?" I confusingly asked him while we were in the golf cart. I don't know where we are going, but he just told me that we will have a meeting with one of the oldest residents here.

I thought he was joking about it, but then we suddenly stopped outside of a small house just near the shore. An old woman came out of the house, and she excitedly approached Cooper.

"My pretty grandson!" The old woman greeted him and kissed him on both cheeks.

I was stunned at one moment, and I immediately smiled, as I find the whole scene so cute. I've never felt that from my grandparents, and it's such a good thing to see him being treated like that.

"Someone's watching," he said, referring to me.

The old woman then approached me and hugged me so tight, but I noticed that she avoided the part where I was shot. She must have known what happened to me.

"You're so tall, just like Ysmael!" She exclaimed as she let me turn around to scan my whole body.

"How are you here?" Cooper asked her.

"Oh, I'm fine, except for the fact that I had to deal with that guy every day," she said jokingly before she grabbed me again to get my attention.

"It must have been hard to deal with in-laws that don't usually work with your kind, right?" she said as she looked at me with concern.

"It's fine with me; both of our families don't usually meddle with our business," I said, trying to convince her, but she insisted and gave me advice on how to deal with them.

As she was holding me and guiding me inside their house, I looked back for Cooper to help me out, but he just smiled at me and followed us inside. The inside of their house was cozy, and all I can say about it is that it was like visiting your relatives in the country, except that I didn't really experience it; I only read about it in the books.

"Have you been here before with Ysmael?" She asked as she made me sit down on a wooden chair at their small dining table, which is just in the center of their kitchen. The back door where we came from opens to this, and right from here I can clearly see their living room, which is also made with wooden sofas with small foams and pillows. There's only one room, and I guess that's their bedroom.

"It's my first time to visit here," I said politely.

"Well, you should visit the fall sometime. It's not far from here, and you can just use your golf cart like what you did earlier to get in here," she explained excitedly.

Just by hanging out with her for half an hour, I noticed that she's not a werewolf. She doesn't belong to Cooper's kind, so I bet she's one of the old women who treat Cooper as his grandson.

"You might have been thinking that you can't sense anything about me, right?" She asked while smiling at me.

Gosh, am I too easy to read nowadays?

"It's okay, my dear, I'll tell you the whole story," she said, and when I looked at Cooper, he just signaled me to go on and hear the story.

"It's been a long time now, but I'm the second wife of Ysmael's grandfather. I'm just a human and met their grandpa when I was working for them at a company. During that time, his grandma just died, and they are all grieving about it, even me, because Miranda has been a great friend to me since we were teenagers," she explained, and I thought that was quite tough for her to deal with.

"It must have been hard for you," I said emphatically.

"Now, dear," she shook his head. "That man right there, your husband, he's the first person who accepted me, and he even made me feel like I was part of their family during that time. Even his parents too, so I don't have any grudges against the family, but for our peace of mind after all the issues before, we settled here on this beautiful island."

I was touched by their story and even told her to go on with the details of it, so I stayed the whole afternoon and even spent the night there for dinner. That's the moment when I saw Cooper's grandfather, who came back from hunting in the woods. They both have the same build, but Cooper has lighter skin, and they just literally look like each other.

"It must have been hard for you since you're a vampire."

That's the first thing his grandfather told me with an apologetic smile plastered on his face. I just shrugged it off and helped Laura, Cooper's grandma, prepare the table for four. While we are eating, we're just having a great time, and we even talked a bit about Cooper's embarrassing childhood moments that made me laugh the whole time.

As we finished eating and were about to go, Cooper and his grandpa talked for a while on their front porch while I was left with his grandma. I'm busy putting the plates back when suddenly his grandma pulls me in for a hug and whispers.

"Don't hurt him; I can see you're the only reason he can smile for a while now."
