Bella heard the blast and wondered what was going on, the door flung open, and furious Calvin stormed in, "come here, you witch" he said and dragged her by her hair
"W. Where are you taking me?" She stuttered as she was pulled along
"Your lover is here and it's time to send the both of you to the other world"
Bella was shocked, Daniel came for her. Even though he was still in the hospital when she was kidnapped, he came looking for her? Tears filled her eyes, to think that she wanted to divorce him when all he had done since he met her was to risk his life to save hers.
"Drop your gun or I'll blow off her head," Calvin said, although, Bella could not see anyone
"I won't do that if I were you" Daniel's voice boomed just before he came into view and Bella attempted to dash toward him but she was pulled back by her hair and she cried out as fiery pain shot up her scalp
"Let her go or your family dies" Daniel warned and for the first time, Bella noticed the people behind him, Calvin's son and wife, they were bound both hands and feet and seated on a chair
Calvin's eyes widened at the sight of his wife and son, "how the hell did you get my family?"
Daniel chuckled, "You sent them out of the country? Shocked to see them back right, I always have my way"
"If you hurt them, I'll kill her, I promise"
"So? I'll get over her, we were about to be separated after all but you? How much will you lose, your wife, your heir, and your business"
Just then, Calvin's phone rang and he quickly picked it up, his face blanched at what he was told and he stared at Daniel angrily
"I see that you've been informed about what had happened to your business, must be very bad news for you"
"I'll kill you but first of all, you'll watch her die" he grabbed Bella close to him and placed the nozzle of his gun on her chin and she whimpered, her gaze sought Daniel's but his gaze was fixed unwaveringly on Calvin
Bella's eyes implored him to save her, now that she had seen him, death wasn't looking good, she wanted to live to tell him how she loved him and that she would never leave his side
"It's so funny how you will die and watch from hell how I assume ownership of every company that's in your name, I have all the documents I need and you are going to make a video statement," Daniel said, his eyes still fixed on his father
"Over my dead body will I do such a thing" Nicholas Calvin replied fiercely
"Even if you don't, I already own majority shares in all your companies and the ones that belong to my mother, I simply have the documents that show it belongs to me, you should be thanking me for trying to still save your reputation otherwise, you will be seen as thieving bastard even in death"
"You are bluffing, I don't believe you, how can you own majority shares in my companies"
"Too bad, I don't lie"
There was a slight movement at Nicholas Calvin's back but before he would notice, he was hit at the side of his face and the hand holding the gun was jerked away from Bella's chin, a shot escaped, missing Bella by an air breath and she screamed, she was pushed away and she landed against Daniel, another shot rang out and Nicholas Calvin screamed in pain as he shot his feet in the struggle, his grip loosened on the gun and Aaron succeeded in collecting the gun from his hand.
He had sneaked up on Nicholas Calvin while Daniel was still having conversations with him, it was risky but Daniel had to take the risk, he trusted Aaron to free Bella without a scratch and he did.
Bella sobbed at Daniel's feet and Daniel slowly bent to her level, raising her chin so that he was staring deep into her eyes, "are you okay?"
She stared at him and nodded tearily, his gaze roamed over her face and his eyes darkened furious at the faint marks on her cheeks, like she had been slapped severally, his fingers traced those marks gently and he stood up and stared at his father,
"You dare to lay your hand on my wife" he whispered fiercely as he walked purposely towards his father who was seated on the floor nursing his leg, "which hand dare to slap my wife?" He asked furiously, "Is it this one?" He stepped on his father's hand hard and he yelled in pain, "or this one" he asked as he stepped on the other hand hard, "or do you want to watch why I do the same to your wife?"
He glared at Joey and she shook her head furiously, tears streaming don't her cheeks
"Please don't, Daniel, I'm still your father, your blood, how can you do this?" His father begged and Daniel threw his head backwards and laughed
His laughter was sarcastic, "my father? By title or by action? You knew I was your son yet you shot me? You knew I was your son and you kidnapped by wife and pointed a gun at her head? You are not fit to be called my father and today you will die for killing my mother"
"I didn't kill your mother, she had cancer and died in the hospital"
"Lies, all lies that you made up, do you think that I wouldn't find out that she was being poisoned? And it affected her heart, my mother died of heart disease that she got from the poisonous substance that you kept feeding her"
"Daniel, listen...."
"Enough, I won't listen to anything that you had to say, you will die a slow torturous death for the pains that she went through before she died"
"Now sit up and make a video stating how you killed my mother and in repentance, you have relinquished all of your wealth to me and I might consider sparing your family"
"I won't do that" Calvin spat, "your mother deserved to die anyways, she was planning to leave the state with you after selling her properties, I wanted to buy them from her but she refused, I couldn't let her do that"
"You do not deserve to live either and when I say that you are making that video, then you are" Daniel snarled and pointed the gun at Gabriel, Calvin's son with Joey
"Do it or I'll kill your precious legitimate son" he warned
"You wouldn't dare" Calvin replied and a shot rang out, catching Gabriel's leg and he screamed out in pain
"I won't be so lenient next time, do not joke with me, Nicholas Calvin"
"Nicholas please!" Joey pleaded as she stared at her husband, she longed to go to her son but she was tied seated to a chair
"At the count of three, I'm aiming for the head, 1...2...3..."
"Alright " his father screamed and Daniel smirked as he lowered his gun.
Nicholas Calvin confessed to killing Daniel's mother and relinquished every property he had to Daniel while Aaron took the videotape of it
"Now, with this, I can only let your family live but my revenge will only be completed when you are rotting in jail," Daniel said and gave Aaron a sign to let Joey and Gabriel go.
Joey immediately ran towards her son as a shot rang out and caught Nicholas by his other leg
"Please, have mercy!" Joey screamed and Daniel went to where his father was lying down and stepped hard on his bullet wound
"Mercy, did he have mercy on my mother? I watched her suffer for years because of the pains your husband inflicted on her, she died miserable, did he think about having mercy on her?" He yelled and another shot rang out, catching him by his shoulders,
"When he shot me with hope that I should die, where was his mercy? I was his son too right? But I was scorned and left on my own at an early age, where was his mercy when he ruthlessly snatched away a mother from her young son?"
"You hated me too, didn't you? You made sure that I get stigmatized as the bastard son of Nicholas Calvin" he threw at Joey and she could only sob
"Nicholas Calvin, this is your atonement for killing my mother and a very dear friend of mine, Marcus, a life for a life. If you had two lives, I would have taken them both" he said and shot him straight on his head and he fell down, his gaze unseeing and lifeless
"No, Father!" Gabriel screamed as he watched his father's lifeless body
"Let's go," Daniel said completely ignoring them, he grabbed Bella who stood there watching in shock
"Boss!" Aaron called just as a shot rang out and Daniel turned in time to see Aaron go down, Gabriel had snatched a gun and fired at Daniel but Aaron intercepted by taking the bullet for him.
Daniel immediately fired back and just a shot made Gabriel grow still and lifeless.
Daniel quickly placed a call through, "I need the team here ASAP, Aaron is down" he commanded with his heart in his throat, he didn't wish to see another friend of his die
In a few minutes, his team arrived with the vehicle and they immediately got Aaron inside, leaving behind Joey grieving beside her lifeless husband and son.
