The chief kept smiling, just looking at the both of them, before he finally clears his throat, and asked.
"Why are you here oh great Alpha of Demini?
"I .... He was about to speak, when Tangy took it from him.
"We learnt that the screamer in your kingdom, is the most powerful in the entire 21 family kingdoms, so we want to ask for a favour, that is, if it is okay by you, that we get just a little of his blood, to help the king".
"You mean king Arthur is sick again? He seem to know the king so well, that she almost took her words back".
"Is that why you have traveled so far, he should have just sent a message across? Seeing how easy that was looking, Jayden decided to add to the already told lie.
Actually, the sorcerer says, we need the blood of all the Screamers in the land, mixed together, to perform a ritual, to help him get better, and since the screamer here is the most powerful, we thought of coming here first, and if we are able to get your help, we could get from others ". Tangy smiles, for the first time, Jayden looked happy, for he smiled back, not like she really cares anymore, she just wants to get the entire drama over with, so that she could at least, go back to the love of her life, as a free person, for she have resolved that whatever evil will arise, from this sacrifice, they should be able to do it.
"I will send words to him immediately, and you just need to stay here, while he gets the rest for you". Jayden became worried, that their plan will soon backfire, for if he goes to where they have been too before, he might know exactly, what they need the blood for, and it might not go well with the chief, who has been nice to them.
Most of the lands, were just being nice to him, for they want to have an ally, Incase of a war, if he remembers that once he needed their help, they helped him, he would be able and willing to help them, if they ever need his help or get into trouble with lands outside their family boundary.
The chief sent words and soon, an ugly looking creature showed up, and without courtesy to them, he only bowed to the one that had sent for him, and the chief motioned for him to come close to him, so he could whisper into his ears, which he did, it was after what he said, that he turned to look at them. Jayden was expecting that now that he must have been told who he is, the screamer, would at least, show him some respect, he even had to sit up, raised his heart up, showing off his broad chest, but still he only looked, and acknowledged Tangy.
Screamers know each other, and after a looking at him for a while, he disappeared.
You might wanna close your ears, he is going to scream, calling the screamers to gather at the sphere field, he could collect their blood there, and you could both leave tomorrow, that would make your mission easier, as long as it has to do with my friend Arthur, I don't think any time should be wasted.
You see, your father is a very strong and good man, but since we don't live forever, he seem to be drawing close to his end".
"Jayden was happy that he would get all he wants, but the way that screamer had stared at him, he fears that something would go wrong, so he just didn't know how to react, and he had tried to use his wizard powers to read his mind, yet he couldn't, he is already too close to getting what he wants, he wouldn't want anything to change along the line, but since the chief have been talking for so long, and he haven't contributed in anyway, he decided to add to what he had been saying, so he doesn't feel he isn't interested in talking with him.
"So tell me how you know my father? That was a good way to keep him talking.
"I grew up in Demini, my mother raised me alone, I didn't know my father at the time, my mother just worked in Demini as a maid for your grandfather, but your father, he never treated me like the son of a maid, he treated me like a brother". Even if Jayden didn't show interest at first, he became interested in what he was saying.
"That means you know my uncle Barthur right? Who doesn't know him, he is the perfect example of a back stabber, that was why your father never saw him as a brother, and even though they look so much alone, that one could hardly different them, the good heart and thought of your father, was always what people used in differentiating them". He was about to continue, when they heard a thunderously pained sound, and truely, they had to cover their ears.
He has gotten to the sphere field". The chief said, but no one heard him, for the screamers sound has over taken the entire place.
The scream continued for more than thirty minutes, that Jayden had to scream too.
"He should make it stop, I can't hear myself". But just like the chief spoke and no one heard him, no one heard Jayden too, the only person that remained calm was Tangy, she is already used to such noise,
When it finally stopped, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
"If he had gone round to all the towns, it would have wasted your time, but since it is an urgent deal, I had to tell him to do it this way, now, they are all there, with him, he would just ask, and they will give him, they know they have a rare kind of blood, and this is not the first time their blood is demanded for, which is why it is good to be on the good book of the towns, so that whenever the need arises, help will come".
Jayden could feel his conscience pricking him for lying, and Tangy could see it too, for she too started feeling the same, maybe Jayden wouldn't have lies, but since she started it, he had to follow, but no one would agree to give them what they want, if they know what it was truely needed for, so maybe telling lies, is the ideal thing to do.
Hours later, the screamer reappeared, with what was needed in his hand, and he handed it over to the chief, then he sat close to him. Jayden was so uncomfortable just staring at him, not like he scares him, but he seem to be piercing his heart, telling him directly and indirectly that he was lying to a good man.
The chief handed the bag of blood to Jayden.
"You should stay the night, so you can leave early, you know, the road is quite long".
"You are really nice, but we have a way of getting even closer to our home, I am a wizard don't forget".
"Yes, that is true". He says, but Jayden still didn't feel alright, especially with the piercing eye of the screamer on him, so he clears his throat, and ready to tell the truth.
