At dusk, the minibus finally came to a halt.
Song Heping heard the piercing sound of the brakes inside the compartment.
The condition of the vehicle was terrible; it rattled loudly all the way, and on some rough mountain roads, it felt like it was falling apart.
This time was different from before.
Throughout the journey, Song Heping had not been able to see anything outside of the vehicle.
He suddenly realized that perhaps this was deliberately arranged by Hula.
Because the compartment was sealed with a tarpaulin making it impossible to see outside, and there were two guards at the rear, he had no chance to lift the cover and peek outside.
The situation had become very intriguing.
Perhaps Hula really did not want him to know where the factory was located, even though he was there to buy goods, Hula was extremely cautious.
An old fox is, after all, an old fox.
The Revolutionary Brigade had survived so many years in the southern part of Afghan due to Hula and Azhar's ability to evade the numerous pursuits of the US Army, obviously, they were slick and experienced.
Suspecting everyone was their secret to staying alive.
This time, he was done for.
Song Heping felt his scalp go numb.
He used to call himself a tactical master.
This was not something his tactical talents could solve.
He didn't even know if the place where the factory was situated was called Neibastai.
Was it or was it not?
He didn't know…
After all, with the tarp covering it, he couldn't see outside, and his locator was also gone.
Even if they had taken him to Persia, he wouldn't have been able to tell.
The only clue was Song Heping's sense of direction.
The vehicle had largely been moving in the northwest direction; this he was fairly certain of.
So, the moment Song Heping got off the bus, he looked up at the sky.
First, get a clear idea of the directions.
It was crucial to figure out the cardinal directions.
Especially since there might be an emergency that required him to flee.
If he didn't understand the directions, he wouldn't be able to escape.
After scanning the sky and spotting the stars, he located his position.
Song Heping quickly looked around.
Good…
No problem here.
It was just a flat terrain.
The flat area was surrounded by slopes.
The southern part of Afghan is a basin, and there aren't many high mountains in a basin.
Looking south from where the bus stopped, Song Heping saw an entrance at the base of a slope about 50 meters away.
At the entrance, there were guards armed to the teeth, and one could tell at a glance that they were armed personnel from the Revolutionary Brigade.
"So it's here…"
At that moment, he confirmed that this place was the factory.
The factory was built inside the mountain, with tunnels dug into it.
Not bad, this was a clever idea.
But looking around at the environment, Song Heping felt colder than ice.
Everything around was bare.
There was no cover whatsoever.
There were no strategic points to hold.
This meant that if he made a move here, he would face enormous risks.
Mist also looked very uneasy.
He obviously realized how tricky the situation was.
Hula came over and made a gesture for Song Heping to follow him into the cave.
Song Heping could only follow him towards the entrance.
Along the way, Song Heping deliberately asked, "Where is my old friend Adrian? Why haven't I seen him?"
Actually, the last person Song Heping wanted to see was Adrian.
Hula smiled and said, "Mr. Adrian encountered some minor trouble on the way which delayed him a bit. He's expected to arrive a little later."
Song Heping feigned surprise and asked, "He ran into trouble? Is he okay?"
But inwardly, he thought, 'It would be best if he just died on his way here.'
'Then my mission would be considered complete without even doing anything.'
Hula replied, "No, no, no, rest assured, it's just some minor issues, they're sorted out. He's just a bit later than scheduled. We'll start by checking the factory, look at our products, and I estimate by the time we're about done, he will have arrived."
Song Heping breathed a sigh of relief internally.
That was a small piece of good fortune amidst misfortune.
Otherwise, if Adrian had arrived before him and came here to welcome him, he would have been forced to act even without wanting to.
He had a pistol on his waist.
That was his only weapon.
Fortunately, Hula thought it was reasonable to leave him a pistol for self-defense, so it wasn't taken away.
Heh, they still underestimated him.
As Song Heping walked, he pretended to chat and laugh happily, while his mind was busy planning how to kill when the time came.
The difficulty was definitely nightmarish.
But he had to carry out the task even with a nightmare level of difficulty.
Anyway, once inside, he would act according to the situation and kill Adrian on sight.
After the killing, he would withdraw.
As for how to pull out, he would figure it out then!
Under Hula's guidance, Song Heping and Mist passed through two large iron gates at the cave entrance, and in front of them stretched a long tunnel inside the mountain.
Song Heping had heard about the caves and tunnels in Afghan before.
However, he had heard that these were mostly in the northern mountainous regions and he did not expect them also in the south; entering here felt like entering a completely different world.
The walls inside the cave were hung with light bulbs, under the dim yellow light, everyone's faces became slightly blurred.
From the exposed wires on the walls, one could deduce that there was definitely a huge generator set here to sustain the power needs. It also showed that this was an opium processing factory constructed with huge investments by the Revolutionary Brigade.
No wonder they were so cautious.
Such facilities were not makeshift factories, and if destroyed, rebuilding them would take at least a year.
Every few meters along the tunnel was a branching path leading to different directions; as Song Heping looked down these branching paths, he saw several times people pushing carts filled with unknown materials rushing by.
