Ella:
After few moments, as I calmed down and the drowsiness started fading away from my eyes. I looked up at Oliver and the past events started flashing into my mind.
I remembered things but not clear it came as blurred and also my head, my head hurts a lot when I tried to put pressure on it to remember things. I frowned in pain as I touched my head and found a gauze wrapped on it.
"What happened to me?" I blurted out, confused.
"You fell off the stairs," Oliver replied calmly.
"Fell off the stairs? I don't remember it." I told him feeling confused.
"What last thing do you remember?" He asked me.
As I tried to put pressure on my mind to remember but all I could see were blurred images. "Ethan? Where is Ethan?" I asked him panic rising in my body.
"You need to calm down first." Oliver held my shoulders and said.
"What happened?" I asked as I stared into his eyes.
He sighed and then replied, "Ethan is no more."
BOOM
I shook his hands away and stood up from the bed in disbelief. "What nonsense." I stumbled as my legs couldn't support my weight and wobbled.
I took the hold of the nightstand to steady myself while Oliver too stood up and helped me to support but I just slapped his hand away angrily. "What happened to me? Why I can't f**king remember anything? And how can Ethan die?" I literally yelled feeling frustrated and rage going through my veins.
"You went to meet Ethan 3 days ago, he fell into a coma out of a sudden, and then you came back all drenched in rain and shivering in fever. While stepping up the stairs you lost your balance and fell down and went into a deep sleep." He paused as he was trying to scan my face for any reaction.
Seeing me listening to him attentively, he continued. "You slept for two days, Ethan died the night you visited him."
BOOM
I felt like a huge mountain was dropped on my shoulders as I lifelessly fell to the ground. "Ethan" I exclaimed as the warm tears started coming out of my eyes. Is started sobbing heavily. Oliver sat beside me and held me in his arms to comfort me.
"Oliver, I don't remember anything. Why did this happen to me? First mom and dad, now Ethan. Why everyone is leaving me?" I sobbed in his arms. My head hurts, it hurts too much and now my heart too hurts.
I clenched my chest, feeling suffocated. "I can't breathe. I can't breathe." I whispered as I could felt my breath getting shallow and soon I started hiccupping. Things went blank in front of my eyes as my world fell into the darkness without Ethan.
***
I was sitting in a dark room, feeling cold when I felt a sound and saw a match lightened in the dark. I went close and saw Ethan's face. I hugged him tightly in joy. "Ethan, you're here. You're back."
He immediately suhsed me as he pulled me to the side. "Ella, Listen to me. I don't have much time. Do not trust anyone. Do not."
"What are you saying, Ethan?" I asked with a blank face.
"He is coming," Ethan said in fear.
"Who?" I asked and suddenly his silhouette vanished from my eyes leaving only a matchbox. I picked up that matchbox and felt a jerk at my shoulder.
"Ahhh...!!" I yelled in fear.
"Ah, It's me Ella. You need to eat and drink something to nourish your body. You're weak." Oliver said softly as I blinked my eyes multiple times. Again dream?
"Ethan?" I asked in a hoarse voice as I tried to sit up.
"I told you, he is gone now." Oliver clenched his jaw as his face darkened at the mention of Ethan's name.
"I want to see him." I said in a low voice while looking down.
"No." He rejected me immediately.
"Why?" I asked.
"Drink this, then we will talk about it." He said passing me a bowl of soup to drink.
I pouted as I took it. I was indeed hungry, two days I was asleep without food without water seriously and also Ethan kept coming into my dream..
If it is a dream then why it felt so real to me? Ethan what had happened to you? I sighed as I started drinking the soup with no appetite at all.
As I finished the soup at the fastest speed I urged him. "Now, tell me."
Oliver sighed, he looked tired and helpless. "I will take you to meet his parent for the condolence. But you're not going to the cemetery."
"But," I protested but he cut me off.
"Enough, it's the end of discussion. First, you need to get better, and then you are allowed to go out." He ordered me and I glare at him angrily.
Well, he is kind of right though I can't argue with him on that. My head is still hurting badly and so are my legs and Ethan's loss was something I really couldn't believe at all. I was feeling like I am living in a dream, not in the reality.
"Stop thinking, and rest. I am here for you." Oliver told me as he saw me getting lost in my own thoughts, he kissed my forehead and I passed him a tight smile as I again laid down on my bed. My body is feeling too tired and it hurts a lot as I move.
I saw Oliver leaving the room and closing it behind. I stared at the ceiling for a while trying to remember the past days but I couldn't everything seemed blurred. As I was turning to the side, my hand touched something under my pillow.
I held it tightly and pulled it out. It was the same matchbox I saw in the dream, Ethan's words rang in my ear. "Don't Trust Anyone."
