The day seems to be going well for Umbrie and Kieran. They went to the mall hand in hand to do some shopping mostly for Umbrie. Umbrie was happy that things are going well so far. Even though they still roast each other, they are getting along pretty fine.
Umbrie looked around the mall happily, she hasn't really been able to come around for a while now. Especially not with someone, except Daphne most of the times. She already arranged Daphne's date with her brother. She wondered how prepared he is now.
"Wait... Look at that dress! I want it!" She pointed at a showcase dress excitedly.
Kieran looked at the dress which is all black and shining with black glitter. It is Lacey and has a lot of details in it. But Kieran has a problem with it, it's too short. As if he already doesn't have to deal with all the people catcalling his girlfriend. Now he has to deal with stopping them from looking at her. No matter what, other men looking at her makes him angry.
"You like black?" He asked a dumb question.
"Should I say you're dumb or you don't know that's dumb? Who's talking about which colour I like here? I would not be so excited if I didn't like it." She replied savagely.
He sighed, "You should try other dresses. That's way too short."
She frowned, giving him a death glare. "Don't just start Kieran. You're becoming too controlling and possessive. I did not want to argue today, but you won't stop being a jerk."
"Seriously? You think I'm being a jerk because I am telling you the truth? We already agreed not to argue. What's this you're doing now?" Kieran said getting pissed.
Just when she wanted to reply him, someone called them.
"Kieran! Umbrie!"
They turned around to see who it is and saw Kieran's mother and father coming towards them. Kieran is not too surprised to see them, he's not happy at the same time.
"Just what I needed." He rolled his eyes.
"Be nice Kieran, I hate it when you do that to your parents." Umbrie scolded him.
"Whatever." He muttered looking away. He wanted to walk away but Umbrie pulled him back.
Kieran's mother and father stopped in front of them. His mother had a smile on her face seeing them together. But her smile won't last long as Kieran glared at them.
"Umbrie darling, it's good to see to both you around. My husband and I would like to take to the both of you over lunch." His mother stated.
"Well... We are not free. I don't have time to listen to whatever you have to say now. I am on a date with my girlfriend, we'll postpone this to another..."
"Of course we are free, ma'am." Umbrie said surprising him.
They are on an important date and she's thinking of letting his parents ruin the date.
"Ma'am? What on earth are you doing Umbrie? I am not going out to lunch..."
"Yes you are. I told you I was hungry before right? Let's go quickly. I want to eat something." She cuts him off again.
"When did you even say that?" Kieran asked confused.

They sat down at the table slowly eating except for Kieran who doesn't seem to be comfortable. He wants to get out of here as soon as possible.
"Come on Kieran. Eat something, are you going to let all this delicious food go to waste?" Umbrie asked him noticing his mood.
"Why are we even here? You know I don't feel comfortable and I hate my parents so what are we doing here?" Kieran asked in a deep voice.
His parents could feel his anger. They felt he has every reason to do that to them. He has been alone and neglected all his life. Maybe seeing them makes him more angry.
"We wanted to have this meeting so we could talk to Kieran here. We know how he feels about us and he honestly has a good reason to. We deserve what he's doing to us because we have never really been there for him when he needed us." His mother started.
"You know, I don't need you people to hold meetings to discuss my hatred for you." Kieran replied bluntly, interrupting his father.
"Kieran! Will you just shut the f**k up right now or should I shut it with this long sausage!!" Umbrie threatened.
Kieran's eyes widened at the dirty thought that just ran through Umbrie's mind right in front of his parents. Umbrie already said it before realising everyone was looking at her, she dropped it a little embarrassed.
"There's nothing to be embarrassed about. You both are mates after all." His father said.
"Listen Kieran, I know how you felt all these years and you even had to leave home. I know we were too busy and never there for you. You left home because you could not take it anymore. We love you so much, you mean everything to us. I know we haven't displayed our parental love and we always argued. But now we are willing to make things right, you mother and I want to show you all the love we never gave you before. Son, please forgive your parents this once."
He sighed sadly, "You're making promises you can't keep. You don't need to do that."
His mother grabbed his hand looking into his eyes, "I promise you son, we are going to do our best this time. We will keep our promise to you. Just forgive us please."
Umbrie's hands went to his legs, he looked at her.
'Don't be such a hot head, forgive your parents already. Unless you want us to argue again so I can give you a thousand reasons why you should forgive your parents.' She told him through mind link.
"Fine. I forgive you, only if you keep your promise." Kieran said after a long silence.
"That's my boy, thank you darling." His mom said happily and hugged him.
Kieran did feel a bit happy that his parents are now showing him love. To be honest, he felt bad that he always fought with his parents and they didn't bond. This made him feel lonely for a very long time.
"Are you going to eat something now?" Umbrie asked filling up his plate with more food.
"Yes, but that's way too much." He replied shaking his head.
"Too bad, we can't waste food so you have to eat it." Umbrie fired back unbothered.
"Cute." His mother complimented smiling at the both of them.
After treating them to lunch, Kieran's parents took them shopping and insisted on buying them a lot of things including accessories and clothes. Kieran and Umbrie went back together. He dropped her off and rushed home to check on something.
Umbrie met with her mom as soon as she got inside, her mom was confused to see her holding all that stuff in hand.
"What is that Umbrie? Where did you get all of that?" Her mother asked her.
"I went on a date with Kieran and we got all these things from his mom." Umbrie answered happily.
"Oh, his mom? I guess he's getting along well with his mother now."
"Yes he is. Where's Sky?" She looked around for her little brother.
"In his room doing whatever he's doing. He has been busy with this school project that he refuses anyone helping him out."
Umbrie smiled, "I guess he wants to be independent. Let him be mom. I'll go drop these in my room."
"Alright, I'll be cooking dinner soon. I need you home to eat dinner tonight since I don't think your brother will be coming for dinner."
"Jared? He's busy with very important things mom, trust me. He can't have time to come here today for dinner."
Her mother scoffed, "Is he on a date with that Tiana girl again?"
"No mom, he found his mate. That's someone better right?"
"Who's that?"
Umbrie shook her head leaving, "No spoilers mom. I won't tell you everything unless he does it himself. Excuse me."
"Don't be such a tease and tell me who she is right now you naughty girl." But Umbrie already left for her room.
She dropped the bags waiting for a call from Kieran. She guessed he went home to check if his parents are really coming home. Guess he was pretending to be tough, he does need his parents after all. She decided to text him and let him reply before making a call.
A few minutes later, he replied the text. She asked for them to see and sit under the moonlight later that night. Umbrie is starting to realize her feelings for Kieran has developed so much that she can hardly be apart from him. How things escalated so fast is what she still doesn't understand.
