Mrs Wynn was not bothered, she continued. "You should get married soon enough and leave that human girl who is always following you around. You have important things to do remember?"
Jared sighed in frustration not understanding why his mother is suddenly talking about marriage.
"My mate is a human too and she's still in school. I just met her and I should start talking about marriage already? Please mom, I don't want to do this." Jared said losing it.
"He's right mom, you didn't tell me you wanted to talk about this with him." Umbrie added.
"Still, it's my duty to remind him that he needs to get married." Mrs Wynn insisted.
Umbrie rolled her eyes inwardly, "Now you sound like an old lady. Living with humans have influenced you so much that you now behave like them."
"I'm going to my room, I am very tired and do not want to talk about this joke." He walked away before his mother could say anything else.
He thinks it's too early to talk about marriage especially with someone who is not yet his girlfriend. He guessed his sister told their mother about his mate and she's back to being so pushy with marriage. He flopped down his bed thinking about Daphne. She does look like someone he can spend the rest of his life with.
He brought out his phone and saw missed calls from Daphne. He collected her number earlier and saved it. He quickly called her back, he deduced she must be worried about him and that's why she's calling him so much. His phone was on silent so he did not notice. He was about calling her back when she called him again.
"I was just about to call you." He said picking up immediately.
"Oh... What happened? You weren't picking up so I got worried." She replied, sighing in relief.
Daphne was actually missing him already and she decided to use this as an excuse to hear his voice. Seeing how he treated her today made her feel hopeful that they are getting somewhere. She is already imagining being his girlfriend, since that's what this is all about.
"I'm sorry, my phone has been on silent. What's up?"
"Nothing, I just wanted to know if you got home already. You know, since it's so late out already. This city isn't that great, we should all be careful."
Jared nodded like she was there, "That's true. I'm home now, thanks for asking. You good?"
"Yeah... I'm gonna hang up now since I already confirmed you're home safe. Till tomorrow then, goodnight."
"Goodnight, sweet dreams." He wished her before hanging up.
To be honest, he was glad she called. Going out with someone just once and he already feels so attached to her. It's like the moon goddess is bonding them together so quick. She is his true mate.
The door suddenly barged open revealing his annoying little sister.
"What the f**k Umbrie?! Don't you know how to knock? Whatever happened to privacy?" He scolded.
She frowned, "You do that to me all the f**king time and you're upset about me doing it back. You sure are one selfish guy."
"What do you want? I am about to sleep, be quick." He inquired having no choice than to listen to her.
"I deserve to know what happened between you and Daphne. I am the matchmaker remember? I set the date up so I deserve to know all you did." Umbrie moved closer to him and sniffed him, "Whoa... You both went out drinking? Is that your date?"
"Do I really owe you an explanation Umbrie?"
She nodded, "Of course you do brother. Think of it as a thank you gift for bringing you together with your mate. Go on, I'm listening."
He sighed, "We went to the movies and had a few drinks..."
"And?..." She cuts him off before he can complete his statement.
"What else do you want to hear Umbrie? Don't you think you're being annoying enough?" He snapped at her.
"Wait a minute!" Umbrie stopped him, then she gasped dramatically. "What the... Did you... Did you really sleep with her on your first date? You liked her that much?"
"Yes we had sex! Can you just get out now or do I need to force you?" He yelled angrily.
She scoffed, "You are such a jerk. And I thought you would be gentle and sweet. I can't believe Daphne would betray me this way."
"What are you even talking about?"
Umbrie glared at him before stomping away. "He's such a pervert."
Jared walked to the door and shut it behind him. His sassy sister is always a pain in the neck that can't ever be fixed.
"First my mother, now my sister, what a family." He fell back on the bed tiredly.

"Why do you sound dull even though I can't see you?" Kieran asked Umbrie on the phone.
They're so obsessed with calling and texting each other now. They must even call before going to bed, it feels like a ritual to them.
"My brother is so annoying, he's a pervert. I can't believe he had sex with my friend just a few hours of a date. What if he threatened her?" Umbrie replied pouting.
"Is that why you're mad?"
"He said it's none of my business..."
"Umbrie..." He called.
"Yes?"
"He's right." He said making her frown.
"D*mn you! You're supporting my brother? He doesn't even like you, I am your girlfriend! You should only support me! You are so..."
Kieran palmed his face as she ranted on and on. Not a day without her bickerings.
"Fine, I am sorry. You are right. But you know your brother's an adult and free to do what he wants. Your friend is his mate, they are free to do THAT... You know what? I'm sorry." He said to let peace reign.
"I'm gonna punish you tomorrow, good night." She hung up not waiting for his reply.
She sighed knowing she is acting childish, then she called him back.
"Say good night." She ordered him.
He laughed, "Good night ma'am."
"Yeah... Bye." She hung up with a smile this time, then she hugged her pillow tight.

Meanwhile at the pack leader's place, Louis and the rest are undergoing a special ritual for them to join the pack. Since they were ruthless rogues before, this will make them submit to the Alpha of the group.
The pack witch, Eloisa who is half werewolf and half witch is the one doing the ritual. Since she possesses both powers, she knows how to link them. She has done it for a few selected people many times, and she also acts like a seer for the pack.
"You have to make an oath to serve Alpha Damien till your last breath. You will not rebel anymore and will succumb to his wishes. You will promote peace and growth in the pack. You will not fight or cause trouble with other members. Do you accept these conditions?" The witch asked them.
"We accept." They all replied.
"You will all die a painful death if you do otherwise. There is no turning back after this." She warned them.
"I still want to continue." Louis spoke up.
"Me too." Another person said and they all followed.
Louis is so interested in Umbrie, he's willing to become a pack member to impress her. But mostly because he wants to belong somewhere and stop being a rogue for life. He is also tired of hiding around and doing evil things with the others. They almost pushed him to his doom, he doesn't want that to happen to him again.
Eloisa took a large knife and cut their hands getting their bloods in a bowl. She did some chanting and the blood disappeared. This ritual wouldn't be done if they weren't rogues before. This is to stop them from misbehaving at any time. They all stared at her waiting for her to say something about the ritual, she finally did after a while.
"It is done. You are officially members of this pack. Excuse me please." Eloisa said, she dramatically bowed before leaving the venue.
"Finally, I'm a member of the ice valley pack. I finally have a home!" Louis thought inwardly.
Luckily for him, he's joining the warriors and would be helping with training the others.
