Play Boy Trapped Chapter 18

"Get on your feet and come with me at once" said the man while standing before Charles and Ken. His wife rushed to him, carrying their boy. "Honey please stop, you really don't need to go this far. He didn't know I was married until when you came. Please stop" The woman begged the man but the man was not listening to her instead he pushed her until she nearly fell down with the baby in her hand. This sight really irritated some of the people in the restaurant and they began to come close to the spot where Charles and Ken were seated. They began to ask the woman and the men with the woman's husband what happened. The woman explained and just then the people there began to accuse the man of being too forward with his actions and said he had no right to be so aggressive towards his wife because a man spoke to her. The man in question having seen that the crowd was defensive of his wife and Charles with his friend he stormed out of that place in anger. The way the way placed both hands on her head after he left made Charles to understand that the woman must be very fearful of the man and she was wondering how she would go home to face him. Charles stood up and walked up to her and said, "You should not be scared of an abusive husband, you can always walk away"

"Is that what you want for me and my marriage; divorce? It will not go as you have planned. How am I sure you didn't plan this today just to destroy my marriage. I know you Charles, I know what you are capable of doing and I am not going to allow you to continue to do this to me; get away from me you evil man!" She shouted and stormed out of the restaurant. Ken walked up to Charles where he was standing and spoke, "What exactly is going on Sir?"

"Ken, you find out all about her before 4pm today, will you do that for me?" Charles asked and Ken nodded at once. Charles then drove off and Ken used a cab.

That same day and in the evening, Mr Kelvin was back to his house and was seated in his sitting room while tapping his foot on the floor of the house. He was so much aggravated and his wife, Rose who already knew the kind of person her husband was came back and sneakily entered the house, looking for him fearfully. When she saw he was seated in the sitting room she walked up to him and knelt down before him, with her son sleeping on her shoulder. She was a very beautiful woman who wanted peace in her marriage and despite the fact that Mr Kelvin was a violent man she had always tried her best to make the marriage work. She was there, facing him and pleading for him to forgive her.

"I'm so sorry and please forgive me of all my actions. I know that you must hate me now for what happened out there but we discussed this already and several times as well. You promised me you were going to be tolerant of these kinds of encounters, you promised me you would not get upset with any man who ignorant of the fact that I am married makes advances at me in request for what I used to give them during the days of my harlotry. I'm sorry that the man had to approach me, yet truth be told he did not know that i am married until when you stepped into the picture. I'm deeply sorry my husband" After she was done the man did not look at her but instead kept staring at the screen of the TV in the sitting room. The woman begged for another seven minutes and when she discovered he was not going to look at her face she got up and calmly walked into their bedroom. When left the man, Mr Kelvin stood up, sighed before he removed his belt and began to walk into the room. Rose had laid Junior on the bed and was about coming out when she saw her husband entering with the belt in his hand.

"Not again honey. Please not again" she begged but the man's eyes had turned red with fury and it seemed he was hungry and having found food, whether tasty or not he was going to eat it. She tried to escape with her life but the man descended on her and began to beat her. He beat her and her screaming awoke junior who was by now seated on the bed and watching the beating cried loudly. Mr Kelvin continued to beat her until she fainted. After she fainted he spat on her and walked out of the room, leaving Junior crying on the bed. He returned to the sitting room and was shocked to see a man seated exactly where he was seated before he left to beat his wife. He could not see the man's wife as he was facing the screen. He was in a red suit with a black pair of shoes to march. He had a hat and used his right fist to support his jaw.

"Hello, who is that?" Mr Kelvin asked but there was no response. "I said who are you and what are you doing in my house?" repeated Mr Kelvin but no answer was forthcoming and so Mr Kelvin walked to his front and recognised him to be the man seated with Charles at the restaurant. "What are you doing in my house man?" he asked further, this time angry at him. Ken looked at him.

"My name is Ken, that's Kenneth" said Ken.

"I don't care to know who you are any longer as I have seen your face to be a person who was with a foolish man that couldn't go for all the single ladies in the city but had to come to my wife" said Mr Kelvin.

"Where is your wife?" asked Ken.

"How dare you ask me of my wife; how dare you?" Mr Kelvin blasted and this got Kelvin looking around before he said, "You beat her to coma didn't you?" He then brought out his pistol and pointed it at him, saying, "Now go inside the room where you beat her and bring her out to this place and be fast about it" Mr Kelvin was scared for he did not expect this. He began to walk and Ken spoke behind him, "Make sure you don't do anything funny else I am going to ensure I fire you right in your eye. Keep moving" They continued to move until they got to the room where Rose was laying on the floor and Ken looked at the boy beside her with tears in his eyes and he pointed the gun right into the face of Mr Kelvin and said, "You killed her"

"No, she is not dead, she gets that way whenever I beat her but she will be alright and up sooner than you think" said Kelvin.

"Really? So you beat her everyday and so you are already familiar with the way she behaves wherever you beat her" Ken then asked him to take up his wife and that he should be fast about it. Mr Kelvin took up his wife and Ken held the boy's hand and forced the man to continue outside and they began to walk out of the house with Mr Kelvin carrying his wife in both hands. They reached outside and Ken ordered him to put the unconscious Rose inside his car and he did. Ken entered the car and asked him to drive. With junior beside Ken Mr Kelvin moved the car and they left the house.

When they arrived the basement, Ken alighted and asked them to come down. Before they arrived the basement Rose was already awoke and was still wondering where they were and what Ken was doing inside their car. Kelvin alighted too and so did his wife. His son alighted too and walked to his mother and held her hand.

"Mother where are we?" The little boy asked.

"I do not know son. Just keep still you hear me?" The mother said and the little boy kept mute as he watched from face to face.

"What are we doing here?" Kelvin asked Ken but Ken did not respond, instead he walked down with them, pointing the gun at Kelvin. It was Jude that stepped out to welcome them and he asked that Rose be taken to the boss whereas Kelvin be taken to the Other Room. When Rose was asked to go the other way she insisted she wanted to be where her husband was but Ken threatened to kill the husband in her front if she did not do what she was asked. She moved but all the while her eyes were on her husband who was not sure where he was being taken to as he kept staring back to see his wife staring back at him as well.

When Rose entered the room where Mr Charles was seated he asked the rest to leave them and then asked Rose to sit. He then sat but noticed Rose was still standing with her son. "Are you not going to sit down?" he asked and she shook her head.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"Sit down first" he said and she sat, making her son to sit on her legs. "What is his name?"

"Abel" she answered him.

"My name is Abel but my Ibo name is Ebuka Sir" said little junior. Charles liked the lad already and he smiled at him and said, "Now that's a good boy here. How old are you son?" he asked further.

"I'm five Sir" Abel answered.

"You will be a great person, do you know that?" he said and Abel smiled. "I like your son"

"That still hasn't answered my question; what are you doing?" asked Rose.

"I should ask you; what are you doing?" asked Charles.

"You sent your man to my house and to do what?" asked Rose.

"To save you" he then showed her the video recording that Ken had to do immediately he entered the room with Kelvin to meet Rose lying on the floor of their bedroom. "You see this; this is what you are into and you need to be saved from it" she was shocked to see this and she spent a minute just thinking of what Charles showed her. "You are not happy that I had to find out what you are passing through in your home?" he asked.

"I know of what is happening to me but I have not asked you to save me from it have I?" Rose said.

"I have a past with you Rose and because of that I so much care. I have sought for you for the past five years but all to no avail. Now that I found you I could not fold my hands and watch you die in the hands of a man who is not man enough to face his fellow man in a one on one combat. He should not be allowed to do what he did to you to another woman. You need to be freed from him" Charles stood up and Rose wondered what he meant by that as she too stood up.

"What does it mean?" she asked while helping her son to stand on his feet.

"What it means is that there is every possibility you will not get to see your husband again and believe me there is nothing you will tell me that will make me change my mind about this decision. So stay here with your son until I'm done with your enemy" he said and she was flabagasted.
