"Sir, you are more than what I thought; you kill?" asked Veronica.
"If I kill? What kind of drug lord that does not kill? We kill to keep our trade. You should have known this before now as you whisper about me most of the times with your subordinates in the office. You think I'm a billionaire by simply doing legal businesses, venturing into land properties. I hear such things give wealth but my wealth came in few years back and it came in large numbers. You should know by now that if I have showed you the things I showed you today it is only better for you to know what it means to double-cross me" said Charles.
"What do you mean Sir, are you now forcing me into your organization?" asked Vero.
"What did you think before now; you think the company is generating enough income to do for you the things I do for you? How many of your counterparts live where you live" asked Charles.
"So all these while you have been doing these things for me is because you want me into your circle?" asked Veronica.
"Yes" said Charles.
"Not because you loved me?" asked Veronica.
"You are a smart lady Veronica. You should know better than this. There is something you have, a potential in you which you need to showcase for the good of my trade" said Charles.
"Your trade Sir is very dangerous and I don't want to be caught up in a situation whereby I have to die by your gun" said Veronica.
"I love you Veronica, I really do and that's why I have decided to involve you in my trade and showed you how the things you had to see at the basement" said Charles. He sat and lit his cigar. Veronica shook her head.
"What are you going to do to Anita?" She asked.
"I will have her killed. She works for me, she was working for me before you and she had no right to do what she did. I will have her killed to set an example to anyone who would dare to toll her line" said Charles with a grin.
"Would you...would you listen to me and grant me the request; if I told you...if I begged you to forgive her and set her free?" asked Veronica.
"Why would I do that?" asked Charles.
"You said you love me; if truly you love me then do this one thing for me" said Veronica. Charles stared at her for a while before he cleared his throat, put off the light in his cigar and stood up, removed his jacket and asked Veronica to make him a dinner.
"Sir?" She was not sure she heard him right.
"Make me dinner Vero" he repeated and walked towards his room. Veronica sat there for a while before she stood up and headed to the kitchen in the house. She was showed the inside of the kitchen by one of the female servants. She wondered why he was insisting that she must be the one to cook for him.
"What is his best meal?" she asked the female servants.
"My boss?" asked the female servant and Vero nodded. "He like rice and stew with chicken and salad" said the female maid.
"I want to make it for him" said Vero and the maid nodded before she said, "Let me show you the way to the kitchen so you can prepare it" both of them headed to the kitchen and made the meal for him. When they were done Vero asked the maid, "Where is his room?"
"Upstairs, last door by the right" said the maid. Vero nodded and began to head towards there. When she knocked on the door she realized the door was open slightly and when she had knocked for sometime and saw that there was no response she walked in and looked around, seeing him on the bed, not yet showered; how she knew; he was still putting on the same cloth he returned from the basement with. She walked up to him where he was laying and tapped him twice but there was no response.
"Sir, your food is ready. Come eat while it's still hot" she got no response. She began to remove his shoes and when she was done she positioned him well on the bed and walked out. While on the sitting room she called the same maid and said, "I will be on my way now; tell him I have gone" The maid nodded and Veronica left the house.
Shortly after she left the maid entered inside the room and seeing her boss seated on the bed and looking into his laptop she said, "She is gone Sir" he looked up to her and said, "Very well" he walked out of the room and the maid while dressing the bed saw what he was watching on the screen of the laptop; he was watching the CCTV recordings of when Veronica entered the room to remove his shoes and adjust him to sleep better. She smiled and continued with her duty.

Inside the basement, the same white man that Charles shot infront of Veronica was seen discussing with Jude.
"Where is boss?" he asked.
"He went to the house" said Jude, "and that was a nice acting" he added and the white man Mr White smiled and shook his hand. "Anything for the boss" Just then the door to the inner chamber of the basement opened and Anita stepped out. She headed to Jude and when she stood before him she said, "I had to make it look real and this red paint has stained my white dress" Jude smiled and held her by the hand and said, "You did well. Boss will be very proud of you" both smiled and Anita got changed into a nice dress and a man in suit saw her off to her car. She entered and zoomed off.
