It was evening by the time they reached Kolkata. Sujata herself came to pick them especially Abhi as she was missing him. As soon as she saw them she was desperate to hold her son.
" Hi bhabhi". Sujata didn't even respond to Simmi and just picked up her son.
" Hello beta(son), how is my baby? Did you miss mom?" Sujata peppered his face with kisses.
"Mama Abhi mitted you so much. Where bere you?" Abhi asked in his babyish voice.
"I was with Nama mama(maternal uncle). He was in the hospital and Manav was all alone, that is why I came here, come let's go." She took him in her arms and started moving.
" Where is mami(maternal aunt)?"
Sujata chose not to reply and proceeded outside.
When they reached Naman's house they saw a child of the same age as Abhimanyu.
"Mama, baby. " Abhi pointed to a boy who was sitting in his tricycle.
"Abhi, this is Manav. He is your brother. Say hello to him." Sujata strolled with Abhi towards Manav.
Both of them were shying and no one was acknowledging the presence of the other one.
All of a sudden Manav picks a ball and throws it towards Abhi. Abhi responds and throws it back to Manav. In this way, they started playing with each other. It just took some time for them to become friends.
"Manav, please wake up, it is time for you to go to school" Sujata was trying to wake up Manav as he was getting late for school. Upon seeing Manav going to school Abhi becomes sad.
"I want to go to school with my friend. I will feel lonely without him. Who will play with me? wo-woh-woh." with that he started wailing.
"Baby, please don't cry. Bua And I will play with you and you can watch cartoons till Manav comes." Sujata coed Abhi but he was wailing like anything and was not listening to anybody.
When Simmi couldn't bear Abhi's wailing, she reached near Abhi and made him sit in her lap.
" Abhi baby let's eat the banana first then we will play with balls, come fast let's race."
Sujata went to get ready, she had to go to the hospital as Naman would be shifted to his room today and she could finally meet him after so many days.
As soon as she reached the hospital she went to the ICU where Naman was admitted. "Naman, '' Sujata shouted and then hugged him." I'm so happy that you are fine"
"Ouch, Sujata you are hurting me. I know you are excited to see me but please control yourself." Naman jokes. They chatted for some time and now it was time for Sujata to leave. She went to the office. She has some work there.
Meanwhile, at the house, Abhi and Manav are enjoying each other's company as if they are best of friends.
Today Naman was to be discharged from the hospital. Sujata has asked Simmi to decorate the house.
"Naman wait, now where in the hell is Simmi." Simmi brings the Aarti thali. "My brother has got a second life." She does the aarti and puts a tilak on his forehead.
Naman feels a tug on his pants, he sees that Manav is hugging him as if his life depended on it. Naman just pats his head as an injury on his hand was not allowing him to pick Manav. " Dad, where is his mom, you are alone, where is my mom?" Tears are brimming on his face as he speaks. Tears rolled down from Naman's eyes too. He didn't know what reply he should give. Perceiving the situation Simmi picks up Manav and takes him to Abhi to play so that he is distracted.
"What should I tell him? I don't have answers to his queries. I feel so helpless." He facepalms himself. Tears were flowing from his eyes. He was missing his wife as well but has to wear a mask in front of his son.
Simmi was managing everything effectively. Providing medicines to Naman, taking care of him, simultaneously looking after the kids.
Practically a fortnight has passed. Naman was now feeling better and started going to the office. Manav has adjusted well with Simmi and stopped asking questions about his mother.
"Bhabhi since everything is fine, I think we should now go back. Abhi is also missing his school."
"I have thought of everything. Abhi has got admission to Manav's school and from tomorrow on he will go there. I'm going to Kolkata for a few days and will return in a week. You will stay here and manage everything." Sujata was packing her suitcase.
"But bhabhi it will not look nice. I mean with what relation would I stay here." Simmi desperately tried to make her understand the situation.
"I will talk to Naman as I want you both to get married." Sujata made her point clear.
"What" she gasps. All the colours were drained from her face. She feels dejected and helpless, gathering the courage she confronts. "Bhabhi I can't, he is already married and won't accept me. And I'm betrothed to Sanjay."
"That's my problem. I will talk with Naman. He has to marry for the sake of Manav. I don't want a stepmother for him ". Simmi goes to her room and bolts it. She was devastated. "Why is she after my life? She knows I love Sanjay but then too she wants me to marry Naman. How can I marry him? He is already married. I don't think he will agree." She wails cursing her fate.
The next morning at the breakfast table, "Naman, after breakfast, please come to study. I need to talk to you."
They proceed towards the study. "I want you to marry Simmi." Sujata started without beating the bush. Her voice was cold and devoid of any emotions.
"But Sujata, how can I? I can't forget Varsha. I love her." His voice was choking with emotion. Tears brimmed in his eyes.
"You have to marry for the sake of Manav. He is a child and he needs a mother. Besides, did you forget why I married the Khanna family? Marry her and dump her like a maid." Her voice was full of hatred.
"But why do you want me to marry Simmi? She is so innocent, and why would she marry a married man with a child. In your zeal and feeling of vengeance, you are spoiling the life of a naive girl." He tried to reason with her.
Simmi was deep in her thoughts and was brought back from her trance by a tug on her arm."Bua, I'm hungry I have brushed my teeth. "
She picks Abhi and walks towards the dining room and makes Abhi sit on one of the chairs and give him his breakfast."Do you know bua? From tomorrow I will be going to Manav's school with him."
"That's great. Are you happy?" She faked a smile.
As the saying goes, what is bound to happen will happen no one can stop. After numerous arguments and disagreement, Sujata ultimately readied them for marriage.
In a simple function in a temple, they were married. Manav was happy with the fact that he has a mother now and it was Simmi.
Sujata left Abhi with Simmi. In the beginning, only Naman made it clear that he can never forget Varsha. Although he would fulfil all other duties as a husband, he can never love her.
No one cared for Simmi's feelings. She was so devastated. She always considers Sanjay as her husband and now she is stuck with Naman in a namesake marriage.
