Reclaiming His Luna Chapter 49

Aurora POV

I had barely just finished getting ready when I heard a knock on my door. I smiled to myself and walked rather impatiently to answer the door. I knew who it was, I could smell him already, his smell was something that was etched into my memory.

I opened the door and to my surprise I was engulfed in a bear hug from Ethan, “Hey princess, slept well?” His cheerful voice and giddy attitude made me chuckle.

I pulled away from me whilst looking around cautiously, “What are you doing? Someone might see us.” I said playfully with a smile on my face.

Ethan rolled his eyes and stepped in fully into the room and shut the door “Come on now, we are in your room, no one will see us here," he said as he waddled forward a bit while puckering his lips.

He looked like a goofy child, his happiness was palpable and I knew exactly why.

I stepped back feigning a frown and asked, “What about Arne? He's in the bathroom and would come out any minute now."

“Then don't you think we are wasting too much time already?" Ethan said with a sky smile as he grabbed my hand pulling me into him.

I gasped but my mouth was quickly covered by his as he kissed me. I melted almost immediately, his kisses made me feel like jelly all the time. His entire presence made me a mess, I guess that could be attributed to the mate bond.

Our tongues were busy for a few seconds when I head the door knob of the bathroom turn, I reacted almost instantly and pushed Ethan off me.

“Seriously, Aurora?...” Ethan was starting to say when the bathroom door opened Arne stepped out fully clothed.

“Uncle Ethan! You are here." Arne rushed and hugged Ethan happily.

My heart fluttered to see both father and son so happy to see each other. If only Ethan knew…

No, he can't know yet. Not until I was sure of his reaction to the news, my son's safety would always remain paramount.

“What’s up kiddo? I haven't seen you in a while," Ethan said with a smile.

“That’s because mummy barely lets me out of her sight." Arne whined and my eyes widened.

“Arne, you…” I was about to scold him when Ethan interrupted me.

“Is that so? Don't mind your grumpy mother, everything is fine now so of course we can hang out," he said with a grin.

I frowned jokingly and rolled my eyes. It still felt so surreal that we were laughing and enjoying each other company so willingly. We weren’t at each other's throats like before, it felt so right and perfect.

Yesterday's memories made me blush a little. I was so angry at him for making me so restless even after I had managed to get over him for so many years and he was so annoyingly clueless. With all the pent up anger, I was tired of mincing words so I poured out my heart to him. I didn't want to, I even planned to call Reginald and tell him that I had finally agreed to go to Greece, I just wanted to be far away from Ethan so I could heal my heart and move on.

And to crown it all, Tiffany had to show up to spite me for Ethan always choosing everybody else but me. Luckily the cure has been found, I had gained my freedom to leave so I could as well just take Arne and our things and disappear, the pack would help themselves out somehow.

When I heard the knock on the door, I knew it was him, my heart wanted me to run into his arms and let him comfort me but I stopped myself and instead I kept on crying. I had wiped my tears so many times to appear strong and indifferent like I usually did but the tears kept on pouring in especially with the fact that Ethan was nowhere chasing after me, he was once again choosing Tiffany.

To my surprise, he showed up and declared that he wanted me afterall. He was dead serious about it and it pleased my heart so much. I still had my reservations but I wanted to give him this chance, I wanted to open my heart one last time and believe him. It was a very risky decision, one I was willing to take.

If anything goes south or if I so much as suspect any danger against me or Arne, then I mentally promised myself to dump everything and leave.

So that was what brought us here, we were giving the mate thing a try. I was still waiting for him to keep his words about calling off the wedding and announcing our mateship but according to him we needed to be patient and calculative which I was fine with.

I really wish everything goes well because this feelings I have for Ethan ran deeper into my bones, I didn't want to know what living without him feels like. I already experienced that before, it was the most painful years of my life.

“We should really go now, the elders must be waiting anxiously for good news.” I said after watching Ethan and Arne play around whilst being lost in a sea of thoughts.

It looked so right like we were the perfect family.

“Yeah that's true. Those darn elders will nag me to death if there's any delay,” Ethan scoffed and I chuckled.

“Arne, wait here for your nanny, she's on her way." I instructed as I stepped out of the room with Ethan.

“See you later, kiddo,” Ethan said.

“Bye uncle Ethan” Arne answered happily. The joy on his face pleased my heart, both of them were my life.

Once the door was shut, Ethan stepped forward with and said, “You think it would work?"

I shrugged, "not certain but I'm certainly hopeful."
