ZACK’S POV
Caroline was shocked from my reaction and she noticed me smiling at Zoe and Mike who were standing behind her.
“What was that Zack " she looked at me confused and the displeasure she felt on having Mike and Zoe’s presence with us was pretty evident in her face.
“Oh, are you offended??” I folded my hands in front of her and looked straight into her eyes with coldness. She understood that I was now the bad boy I everyone feared in the old high school and she gulped down her fear.
“What happened to you all of a sudden? Why are you behaving so strange?” she caught my jacket with trembling hands and an eye filled with tears. Oh yeah, she was indeed fearing the reality that was about to strike hard!!
I again looked at Zoe who was also in a numb state seeing Caroline and was ready to leave us alone. She turned away taking Mike with her and I rushed to them shocking Caroline further more.
“Stop. You can’t leave so easily" I held her hands stopping her and Mike was delighted to see Caroline’s distressed face.
“What the hell Zack? What are you doing?” Caroline stormed to me seeing me hold Zoe’s hands and caught me by my jacket's neck. Wow, things are going on very terrifically!!
“that’s what I also want to know baby. What the hell happened to you all of a sudden?? From where did all these love shower into your mind after the breakup and since when did you start caring about me more than your status?” I pushed her hands away from my jacket and sarcastically carcass her face horrifying her much more.
“I…..I apologized to you that day itself I and did you forget that day?? You had even forgiven me" Caroline’s eyes where by now blood red and her voice cracked as she screamed her heart at me.
“Oh yeah, I remember that. But what I don’t remember is me ever telling you about us patching up" I gave her a befitting reply as all the memories about her plus the revelations Zoe had told me about her played in my mind growing more of a disgust for her. Sorry love, I don’t have an ounce of trust left for you in me!!!
“No…no no no…. this is a joke, right?? You’re joking right?? I know you are. You can’t break up with me like that. I fucking love you Zack, I fucking really do. I’m really sorry for what all I did but I never really wanted that to happen. I just realized you mean more to me than everything that’s why I shifted back to this fucking town for you. I want you and I want to be with you" she yelled at me crying hard and Zoe wanted to step forward to help her but Mike stopped her. I also honestly didn’t feel anything from her words at all.
“Should have thought all these before breaking up with me and also before thinking of keeping you past in this town a secret from me" I disgustingly replied to her and she got silent all of a sudden staring at me shakenly. It’s true Caroline, I now know everything about you!!
“Oh, I see. You have got to know my past from her right" suddenly, a devilish tone rang in her voice as Caroline gave Zoe a death look.
“I got to know about you from Coach David. Zoe and Mike just told me the truth" I stood with the two of them while Caroline looked ag all 3 of us unbelievably.
“You…. you have again tried to spill poison in my life, right?? I knew you would never change" Caroline cursed at Zoe and it triggered both me and Mike badly.
“If that was so, you would have never returned back to this town Caroline" Mike reverted back at Caroline with full hatred and shut her off.
“Seriously, what is the real reason you came back?? Was it really because you love him or is it knowing he and Zoe are now good friends?” Mike smirked wickedly at her with the same hatred and I looked at him appallingly. That was a good attack brother!!
“that’s a good question Mike. Tell us Caroline, have you cane back for me or for her?” I walked closer to Caroline and she stepped back a bit.
“Now I understand Zack. You did a big mistake by trusting on them more than me. You believe on what these people say rather than what all other say and you are doubting my love? I might have done a mistake by breaking up with you and I accepted it. But you, you have no idea what wrong you are doing" she hissed at me angrily and she hadn’t even fir a bit liked us ganging up against her liking. Well, it’s a result of your own deeds love, it’s the result of your own deeds!!
“And you are the one talking about it Caroline, the only girl who broke years long of friendship for something your mind made up and you played with her life destroying the only chance she had to live a normal life" I frustratingly hissed at her nonsense.
“That’s what she filled your mind with right. This is why I came back. I knew she would have done this when I got to know you are friends with them" she pointed her fingers at them irking me to the point where I had to put a full stop to it once and for all.
“See, this is your real face. A nasty bitchy one. So let me gets things straight. We are no longer a couple Caroline. Last time you broke up and this time I’m breaking up with you" I gave her a sinister wink and tears rolled down her tender cheeks profoundly even if she wasn’t crying.
“I won’t let this chapter be closed so easily I” a threatening echoed in her words and Zoe was worried for it.
“Stop it, Caroline. For god's sake stop being this person who you are not" Zoe came forward into our talk and stopped Caroline.
“You are the one repeating the history, Zoe. You snatched my everything. Don’t ever think that I’ll let you live peacefully with that" her eyes were red with stress yet her words had extreme anguish in it.
This was not what Caroline had come back to the town for. But receiving such a shock had shook her to core and a vibe of war rang in between all four of us. Caroline just showed me a face of herself that I had never seen and I knew this was the Caroline Zoe and Mike and warned me about. She was way to possessed and obsessed with me that she couldn’t see anyone else getting my attention let alone Zoe, whom she hated the most.
“Why don’t you use some new tricks, Caroline. The ones you use are now old in the market” seeing Caroline throw hatred at Zoe, Mike didn’t keep back and mocked her for her insensitive tactics they were done with.
“Oh yeah, if that’s what you want then be it. Any ways, now I too am a beverlian so we’ll be facing each other every day" she gave him an evil smirk that astounded us. What did she really mean??
“Did you get admitted back to Beverly hills?” Zoe was the one to ask and Caroline again gave us her wicked devilish smile.
“Yeah, my BFF, things are back to old times but with a new hero" she looked at me saying that and I understood what she was hinting at. Jake’s story was going to be repeated and the girls were again going to face each other digging up past mysteries to spice up life more. And me, I was just tangled between a revenge saga of my crazy ex-girlfriend whom I now completely regret ever loving.
Okay, now things were going pretty awkward. None of us ever thought that Caroline would take the step of coming back to the town only for her obsession which had gotten deadly after what all I just did. And it was for me, Zoe and Mike to suffer her wrath that would involve her tangling us in issues she would deliberately create.
“See you soon fellas" Caroline picked up her stuffs and suitcase form my doorsteps and walked away from us. I scratched my head like a monkey and hanged my other hands onto Zoe’s shoulder confusing her. Mike had really enjoyed pissing off Caroline and only we boys knew how satisfying that moment was.
“There goes our new adventure" I laughed scoffing joined my Mike but Zoe was still distressed.
“You have unleashed that girl’s obsession I" Zoe concerned for me thinking about Caroline’s wrath and I snapped her head.
“Just think about what I’ll let her go through if she becomes the nasty bitch, she is in our heaven" I sinisterly winked at her and hi fived Mike who was more than ready to welcome that ……
