As we sit and listen to Seleste talk about the shewolf of my pack, it is clear to Yvette and me that Tracey is the one. She has been trying to get my attention for years. I have never given her any encouragement, but she never gave up. I had to order her to stay away from the alpha’s private living area because she kept trying to seduce me. I made it clear to her that I was waiting for my mate. Now I have my mate and we have to deal with this.
After the meeting ended. Alpha Keenai, Councilman Bari, and the warriors headed to California, while Rose and I headed to my pack. I contacted Gamma Francis and her mate to let them know about us suspecting Tracey of being a traitor. Francis will have people watching her. She will also have warriors hanging around the bar. Hopefully, they can catch her in the act of meeting with the rebels. She is going to die for her actions, no doubt, but I need to have concrete evidence that it is her.
“Little mate, I did not want to introduce you to my pack under these circumstances, but I am glad you will be by my side through all of this,” I say to my mate.
“As long as she doesn’t have a reason for trying to be with you, I will be ok and we will handle this together. So, Garnet, those she has a reason to think she has a chance of being with you?” Rose asked me.
“No. I made it clear to everyone in my pack that I was waiting for my mate. I waited for you. I would never put my mate in that kind of situation of having to deal with she wolves in my pack.”
“Ok, we will handle this and let all the other shewolves know that they can stop trying my mate now.”
I bet she has no idea how happy I am that she is my mate. Truthfully, I started crushing on her from all the things Seleste said about her. I believed that she would be the perfect Luna for my pack. Seleste once mentioned that she thought we would be perfect for each other and she was right. Rose is perfect in every way possible.
The trip back home did not take that long. I had my Beta and Gamma meet me in my office. We got all our new equipment set up so that we could conference with the rescue party and see the rescue in real-time. All other parties are patched in. Lacey and young Alpha Connor are with us here. Young alpha Trevor will be making a trip back to the academy to brief them on our situation after the rescue. Lacey will be staying here, for now, to wait for her mate to return.
Alpha Blake, Gamma True, and Councilman Bari, along with all of Seleste's warriors, with all the special forces, are en route to the house that they are keeping Seleste in. The council have secured the area and have gotten the allied witches to put a shield around the area to keep the humans from seeing what is really happening. The local none supernatural law enforcement has been told to stand down. As far as they know, this is a federal operation.
We’re all on the edge of our seats as we watch the team breach and set out looking for Seleste. Alpha Blake runs for the second floor. He and his team are going room to room. All of the rooms appear empty. One of the techs pulls up a blueprint for the home. There appears to be a hidden room and escape tunnel under the home. Al[ha Blake and Gamma True go back to one of the rooms to look for the hidden entrance to the tunnel.
Everyone is on pins and needles watching this unfold. Rose is focused on the screen and is barely breathing. I grab her and pull her to me. Young Alpha Trevor does the same with Lacey. We all need this comfort right now. Seleste means so much to all of us. Although I wanted to not like young Trevor for what he did to Seleste, she forgave him and helped Lacey accept him as her second chance. In a short time, Young Trevor has proven himself to many of us. He has played a major role in planning for the upcoming battle. It’s hard to see the logical male he is today making such a stupid decision less than a year ago. I sort of believe that it was his and Seleste’s fate to be with others. Maybe they needed to experience the pain to get to the next level and for Trevor to truly learn how to love and appreciate all that the goddess had in store for him. I believe he will be a better mate for Lacey because of what he went through with Seleste. I just pray that the goddess has someone equally awesome in the works for Seleste. She deserves it more than any of us, yet all of us found our mates through our connection with her.
Things got bloody real quick at the house they are holding Seleste. The warriors are showing no mercy to any of the rebels they encounter. It’s obvious to the rebels that they are outnumbered. Some of them tried to run, but they didn’t get far. The body count is quickly going up. At this point, almost everyone that was holding Seleste is dead or dying.
We are still waiting for a visual on Seleste. Alpha Blake and Gamma True go back to the first room they entered. They go into the walk-in closet. Alpha Blake and Gamma True kick the wall at the back of the closet and knock down what was a trap door to the back hidden room. Seleste is there. Her face is bruised up and a shifter was standing over her with something in his hand. Alpha Blake wastes no time taking him out. Some of the warriors continue into the tunnel. I’m assuming some of the men ran to the tunnel. Some warriors have been dispatched to where the tunnel opens on the other side. They have a kill on sight order. We only need one left alive and Alpha Blake and Gamma True already have a prisoner. There were two left in the room. Alpha Blake killed the one hurting Seleste. Gamma True ripped the head off the one that threatened her. They kept another one barely alive.
The warriors take the prisoner to one of the SUVs. Seleste is taken to the SUV Alpha Blake and Gamma True are riding in. It looks like she is walking on her own, but I won’t be satisfied until she is seen by a healer. Although the fighting I over, all of us are still watching the feed. I think we are all waiting to know that Seleste really is ok.
They make it back to Alpha Blake’s beach house. As soon as they get out of the car, Alpha Blake grabs Seleste to him. Gamma True looks like I feel.
“What the hell,” I say
Rose and Lacey jump up and grab each other. They are really happy about something. Alpha Trevor and I just look at them and back at the screen. I see Gamma True pat Alpha Blake on the shoulder and walk into the house. The twins and Talia stand to the side smiling at alpha Blake and Seleste.
“OMG Lacey, they are mates. Seleste finally has her second chance. OMG. I can’t wait to talk to her.” Rose says.
“I am so happy for her. She deserves this more than anyone and Alpha Blake is an amazing male.” Lacey says
Trevor growls when Lacey compliments Alpha Blake.
“Oh hush, he is obviously mated to my best friend, so I can compliment him. Besides, he is a legend in this region, so everyone thinks he is amazing.” Lacey says.
‘She is right Young Trevor. Alpha Blake is well known and well respected in his area. He has fought corruption and abuse for years.” I say.
“Newly mated here. I can’t help being possessive.” Young Trevor says.
We all just look at him, but like us, he was also happy for Seleste.
Councilman Bari let everyone watching the feed know that we will conference in an hour to review the footage from the council house and plan our next step for dealing with the traitor or traitors within the council.
Since we have an hour before we meet again, I take this time to call a pack meeting to introduce the pack to my mate and their future luna. We are planning to have her luna ceremony in a couple of weeks, but I want my pack to know that I found my mate and that will give us an opportunity to see how Tracey responds to me having a mate. I hope she plays her hand so we can end her sooner instead of later.
I have my beta and gamma get the pack together for a mandatory pack meeting in 10 minutes at our outdoor meeting place. I take Rose by the hand and lead her to the meeting. The pack watches us as we walk on the stage hand and hand. Most of the pack members can guess why I called the meeting after seeing me holding hands with Rose. This is not something they have seen me do before.
“First let me say, thank you all for coming. I have a few things to announce today. Let me start with our new Gamma and our very own Gamma Francis’ mate, Torrence Richards. You have all met him, but I want to officially welcome him to our pack. Gamma Richards is gamma born from the Luna Moon Pack, so I know he will be a welcome addition to our pack. I expect you all to give him the respect he deserves. The reports I’ve gotten so far have all been good. I would expect nothing less from you all.” I pause and take a breath.
“Next, I want to update you all on Seleste. As you all know, she was abducted while we were visiting the bears to form an alliance. I am happy to inform you all that she has been found and is safely back with her family. Those who were holding her are all dead. The council considers the kidnapping of any member of the kingdom an act of treason and is punishable by death. We know that there are others involved that have not been caught yet but rest assured that several packs and alphas are working to bring all of those involved to justice. This sort of thing will not be tolerated. We are also investigating to make sure that there are no other shewolves missing from the smaller less known packs. We want to make sure that all of our pack members are safe and don’t have to worry about being taken away from their families.”
The crowd cheers, well most of them anyway. I can tell that Tracey is upset and a little scared. I link Francis and ask her to make sure we have people at the bar and also make sure they have all the latest equipment so we can catch her on tape.
“Finally,” I say and take Rose by the hand. “This beautiful lady next to me is my fated mate and future luna of our pack. Luna Rose is from Seleste’s pack. She is the daughter of the current beta and twin sister of the future beta. She is best friend with the future alpha of her pack and an elite warrior. In short, my luna is awesome and kick ass at the same time.”
The pack starts to cheer. I knew most of my members would be excited about having a luna.
“Why does she get to be luna? She is not even from our pack.” Tracey says.
“She IS luna because she is my fated mate and because I say so. If anyone has an issue with that, they can leave my pack today. I will not tolerate any disrespect to my luna.”
“She is not luna yet. How do we know she is even qualified to stand as our luna.” Tracey asks.
I growl and Rose rubs my arms to calm me down. She steps in front of me. I can tell that she is pissed. Tracey has no Idea what she is getting herself into.
“Did you not hear My mate say that I am his fated mate which means that the moon goddess says I am qualified to stand next to him. In fact, I am the only one qualified to stand next to him. Besides that, I am a pure-blooded beta female wolf. As such, I am having a very difficult time putting up with your disrespect. And, as my mate said, I am an Elite Warrior, one of the youngest Elite level Warrior in my pack. If you still have questions about me being qualified for the job, challenge me for the position.” Rose says in a voice that is much too calm for the situation.
Tracey just stands there glaring.
“Don’t think you have won. Garnet and I have been a couple for years, everyone knows that he loves me and will always come back to me. You can never make him feel the way that I do.” Tracey says with a smirk.
“First of all skank, my mate has never been with you, He told me out of his own mouth that you have never been anything to him and if he ever dated you and that is a big if, he never fucked you. He told me that he waited for his mate, which is me.” Rose said plainly
“Huh, and you believed him. You can ask anyone and they will tell you that Garnet and I have mated several times.” Tracey said
This is getting out of hand.
“Enough” I growl, “Tracey, you know the penalty in this pack for making false allegations against a pack member, especially your alpha. I let you slide the first time you disrespected my position by calling me by my first name without my permission, but you are now going to far. Do you want to amend your statement or continue your lie and face banishment?” I ask.
“I can’t believe you would banish me for this bitch.”
“Call my mate a bitch again and I will do more than just banish you. I have tried to be patient with you because you are a pack member, but I have warned you over and over again to stay away from me. I have made it clear to you that there will never be anything between us, yet you stand here and lie about a relationship that has never happened to my mate. This is your last warning.” I say.
“But I love you and I know you would love me too if you gave me a chance. Send her back and we can be together. I know I can make you happy and be a good luna for this pack.”
“That will never happen,” Rose said. “I’m not going anywhere. I am his fated mate and you need to either accept it or find you another pack.”
“Who are you to tell me what to do?” Tracey screamed.
Before I realized it, Rose was off the stage and had Tracy raised in the air, holding her by her throat.
“Who am I, you asked, I am a pure-blooded beta who has had enough of your disrespect. It is taking everything in me right now to keep my wolf from snatching your head clear from your body. Disrespect me again and you are dead. And how can I tell you anything? Simple skank, I am the luna of this pack, if I want you gone, you will be gone. You stand her smelling like the three males you recently mated with talking about loving my mate. You are nothing but a skank. I feel sorry for whoever your mate is. I pray that the goddess will release him from being stuck with you. You don’t deserve a mate. Now get out of my sight before I forget that it's illegal to kill pack members.” Rose said and threw Tracy about 3 feet away from her.
Tracey got up rubbing her neck and stormed away. I grabbed Rose and hugged her to me to calm her down. Everyone had a look of awe. Rose does not look like she is that strong or would move that fast. Like I said earlier, my mate is kick ass.
“Well, that was more eventful than I was expecting. Now that the drama is over, please welcome your future luna. I expect you all to show her the same respect you show me and the other ranked wolves in our pack. The Omegas have prepared food for you all. Go eat and have fun. Your beta, gammas, Rose, and I have a conference to attend, but we will be back out later tonight for a bonfire.”
The pack cheered and dispersed to the side of the packhouse where the food was set up. I received a link from the sentinels at the pack gate notifying me that Tracey just left the territory. Maybe things will happen faster than we thought. When we got to my office, I let my team know that Tracey has left the territory and is heading in the direction of the bar. Gamma Francis contacted the warriors and hunters scattered around the bar so that they can be on the lookout for her. They will notify Gamma Francis when she arrives and start the live recording of her so that we can see what is happening in real-time
