Rita had gained popularity among some of the staff, mostly the men, even on the security detail. They would meet for lunch in Nexion and probably talk about their saturday and sunday plans, smiling and laughing with each other. Flirting. It should not bother him, earlier on it did not. It was not even a minor irritation. Their interaction had been little. Now, it had proved to be a major annoyance. And not just on a personal level. Samuel caught her more than once daydreaming. Not only that, she was now being late after lunch.
Samuel looked around the desk one more time but he could not find it. There was supposed to be a blue file on his desk this afternoon. Rita was supposed to– Samuel ground his teeth. Where was she?
Samuel walked out of his office in search of his assistant. And sure enough, there she was just walking into the office ten minutes after lunch was already over. The scent of jollof rice and chicken accompanied her and clung to her frame like her pantsuit and that irritating lavender perfume.
“Miss Anozim, it seems to me that one whole hour isn't enough for you to have lunch anymore.”
Rita turned to him, her eyes to the carpet. “I'm sorry, Sir. It won't–”
“What? Happen again? You said that two times this week already.” Samuel calmly seethed. “And I'm getting tired of it.” This time a growl escaped his throat. Rita visibly shook and took a small step back.
“There is supposed to be a blue file on my desk right now. A file you were supposed to work on this morning. Where is it?” Samuel asked, another growl.
Rita opened and closed her mouth like fish out of water. Her lips trembled badly as did the rest of her. “I didn't work on any blue file this morning. I had no idea I was supposed to.”
“No idea you were supposed to?! I left you a memo earlier this morning! And if you aren't with it then who the hell is?”
She did not say a thing. Not a damned word and that only enraged him further. Samuel took a threatening step closer and Rita took another step back. A few more steps and she would be trapped between him and the wall. “Miss Anozim, if you care for this position you had better get your priorities in order. The contract you signed benefits and the latter still stand but the latter even moreso if I fire you.” He warned. His patience had worn thin already.

lt like the air itself was trying to crush her. Either that or the cologne he was wearing had some kind of enchantment. She had not meant to arrive ten minutes late. Lunch had not gone as planned, as usual. It seemed August was joining her list of badluck months. Nexion had been proving to be a nice place to work but all its charm died, the minute Samuel Princeton walked in and when she discovered there were more sexually charged creeps within its walls than Deleze probably did. If Deleze was a wolf/vampire den then Nexion was sex addicts dream come to life. And unfortunately for her, it came in Ultra definition. Live and direct.
Rita had walked into enough 'lunch breaks' in this company to last her a lifetime. It made her seriously question the previous owners of the establishment. Next time, she was bringing a theft proof packed lunch and eating it in the safety of her office. The cafeteria/lunchroom was more than desecrated at this point, and she did not want to even think of the kitchen. Rita was never going back there. Ever. She had had to go out looking for a decent restaurant before even settling in for food. It was not her fault she was late. Mostly. Yeah, it was not her fault. And she was not going to be pressurized into feeling that it was. “With all due respect Sir. It is not entirely my fault I'm late.”
“Excuse me.” He seethed. His fangs were starting to become apparent. Rita swallowed. “It is not my fault alone I was late, Sir.”
He took one threatening step towards her but she did not take a step back. She stood her ground, no matter how much she wanted to squirm and just plain submit. Samuel Princeton must not he used to anything but obedience and shut lips. Too bad.
Mr tall dark and very much annoyed pinned her with those molten gold laser beams he had as eyes. Her mind flashed to a 'lunch break' she had been so unfortunate to witness, for a moment, the strangers and their lewd invitation were gone. Instead, it was her on the kitchen table and the man standing right infront of her wildly thrusting into her. Rita clenched her thighs. This was no time for wet daydreams! Especially not about THIS man. Wolf. Guy. Arrgh, not important. She was sticking to her Romance checklist. No matter what. It would not work anyway, she was wearing a pantsuit and she was not planning on going nude anytime soon.
Rita halted her thoughts when sometimes crossed her mind. He could smell her arousal. The thought had heat rushing to her face and she was very thankful at the that moment for her colouring. Besides he seemed to be preoccupied with reprimanding to notice at the moment. Hopefully.
“Ok then, I suppose you're right. You were probably late because of a giant flying turtle just tore through half the city or maybe a runaway train that took you to another dimension.” Rita wanted nothing more than to punch him in that Vogue worthy face of his. “No? Then what?” He asked sarcastically. “Please explain how this is in no way your fault?”
“Maybe it's because I had to find some decent place to have lunch where they literally did not fuck and cum all over the food!”
That wiped the sarcastic look of his damned face and replaced the expression with a blank one. Rita could not decide which she hated more. “Unlike you Sir,” She made sure to stress on the Sir. “Some of us don't have the power to put off hunger for up to six hours. Some of us have to eat. If my being late by ten minutes because I have to take a twenty eight minute drive out of this part of the city to find a decent place sit down to eat bothers you then that's on you!
Because I know how many times I've addressed this, to you and the company disciplinary unit and surprise surprise none of you have done a single thing about it!”
There was nothing but silence between them except for Rita's heavy breathing and the slight buzz of the thermostat. The rant had left her feeling drained and at the same time, not. Rita had not included that she was still very scared of being grabbed out of her car or the restaurant she would drive to. Probably kidnapped like Poor Anthony and Irina and murdered just as viciously. It was stupid to let her guard down last Friday. She still could not believe that Miguel was some sort of sex depraved masochist escort for the rest of the staff.
Rita was so shocked and downright disgusted that she had had to stay in the office without going for lunch the first few weeks after that and the first four incidents. She had paid visits to the toilet bowl a lot more during that time and a doctor because punching, kicking and blocking freaks that did not understand the meaning of no took its toll on her knuckles and shins. When her hunger became too great and her ulcer was threatening a comeback, she had to do something and she could only tackle one. A combo of Trauma, PTSD and a set of new phobias or cum sprayed food. Rita chose the healthier option.
Her rant brought her slight relief and by the way her boss' jaw was clenching, the absolute knowledge that she was going to be fired and stuck paying for a massive debt for the rest of her life. Plus there was still the problem of the missing blue file. She was going to get tossed out like three week old moi moi with a hefty debt on her head and a host of demons all-round.
