WELL, I didn't expect him to be here this early. First, their estate was far from our house. I feel like it's not just a mere coincidence either.
"Hey," he greeted me with a smile as he jogged towards me.
I couldn't help but notice what he was wearing. He had on volleyball shorts that showcased his muscular thighs, and because he was tall, you could clearly see the shape of his legs. He was also wearing a hoodie, I don't know what this guy's style was all about. But all in all, he looked pleasant. He didn't dress like Alice or her cousin. The color of his clothes suited him.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, slightly puzzled.
He scratched his head. "I just remembered yesterday that you go jogging before I pass out, so I thought, maybe you're exercising again today."
I nodded and decided to start jogging. Since we were near the countryside, we passed by a few farmers.
Andrew seemed to be popular among the farmers. He seemed to have a friendly rapport with them. So maybe he's here to befriend me, right? I couldn’t see any motives besides that. Because if he were to court me, I might say no. I have trust issues with rich guys nowadays. Never again.
"By the way, I watched the parade last night. I was supposed to be there but I declined especially when I learned who the queen of the night became,” he said.
I glanced at him. I remembered what Kyla and Alice said, he might be Maribeth's ex.
"If I knew you were going to be the queen, I wouldn't have declined."
I couldn't believe I was looking at him and asked, "Wait, are you hitting on me?"
Because if he wanted to show his intentions, isn't he moving too fast? He's already making a move, and we've only known each other for barely three days.
"Wait, no! Haha. I just wanted to be friends,” he claimed.
Well, that's good. If that's the case, I would reject him right away.
"That's good then."
After an hour and a half, the sun began to rise. I was heading back home, still with Andrew, because his bike was parked in front of our house.
He was actually fun to be with. He was enjoyable to talk to, so jogging like this was entertaining. He had a sense of humor. He smiled a lot. I can see why Alice liked him so much. Andrew was far different from his evil cousin.
Logan Lopez, on the other hand, seemed to have a terrible reputation.
When we reached home, I wanted to invite him inside for water and coffee, perhaps, but he refused and instead invited me.
"Do you want to swim in the falls later?" he asked.
Memories bring back memories, indeed.
"Falls? Waterfalls?"
I acted clueless.
"Yes, we have a private waterfall. Christian, Lance, Kyle, and Alice will also be there. I'll take care of the picnic later." He looked happy, and I didn't have the heart to refuse him, even though I had a bad feeling about it.
"Okay, count me in."
He said he would pick us up. He would be the one to inform the others about this plan. He said we should make the most of it because next week, school would start.
It's good that I'll have less time to see Logan. I don't know why, but it seems like we're always crossing paths. When I entered, Alice was already there. She had a sour expression.
"I hope you feel good!"
"What are you talking about?" I asked the girl who was pouting.
"Oh, I can already see it. Andrew seems to be falling for you,” she accused.
"Okay? Even if he were to develop feelings for me, the question is, would I develop feelings for him?" It's not an issue for me. Because I don't have time for courtship.
"Are you sure? Andrew is handsome! He's the dream guy of everyone! Master Logan is second, but he's super snobby."
"Trust me, I don't want to have any relationship with any of them or any connection to that Logan Lopez. By the way, Andrew mentioned something earlier. He's inviting us to their private waterfall. The boys will be there too."
She suddenly became happy.
"Oh, really? Oh my gosh! This might be my chance to really impress Andrew! Ahh!"
I believed that Alice could be bipolar or something. When it comes to Andrew, her mindset could change at any second.
Since I was feeling sticky, I took a shower first. After that, I watched some videos and scrolled through my social media accounts.
After doing so, I heard a motorbike outside. Everyone was here. It seems like they're all excited because there are boats.
I had a bag with me, just in case, and some necessities as well.
"Let's go! Get on! Our driver is so handsome."
I was wondering who this driver was, and my world almost crumbled when I saw that it was Logan.
Like what the hell? What is happening to this trip? Why is this ultimate killjoy of Clayland coming with us?
I didn't react when Alice pulled me into the car. Andrew was in the middle, and he didn't want to adjust. So he ended up sitting between Alice and me. And I didn’t have to mention how giddy Alice is right now.
"Why is he here?" I whispered to Andrew.
He cackled. "Why are you whispering? Why? Don't you want Logan to come along?" he asked.
It's not that I don't want him, I'm just so annoyed with that guy. However I couldn’t tell Andrew that I was so annoyed with Logan, so I just remained silent throughout the entire journey. Andrew was chatting with Alice, and Christian and Lance were busy teasing Kyla.
I am carefully watching the road while playing a song on my phone. By the way, I was wearing earphones. Finally, we arrived at the entrance of the mini forest. We walked for a few moments and saw the beautiful waterfall.
Suddenly, the stress I was feeling earlier disappeared. We put our belongings in one corner. The boys were the first to plunge into the water, while we girls had to handle arranging our food.
"Hey, Kyle, join the boys. Aren't you one of the boys?" Alice said to Kyle or Kyla.
"You know, you have a sharp tongue! Don't worry, later I'll show off my aura! They'll be amazed!"
I just laughed at their banter. When I turned to look at our male companions, I was quite stunned.
Lance and Christian had well-toned bodies. At their age, their bodies were impressive. But Andrew was even more appealing than them. His body seemed perfect for swimming. It suited his lean physique perfectly.
Alice and Kyla were practically drooling over what they saw. They looked like tigers who had just seen fresh meat. But what caught my attention was when he surfaced from the water. It was like seeing a model emerge from the water.
Logan was so attractive with his wet body and wet hair. He looked very...
Damn! Stop it! What am I thinking? I admit he's handsome as hell, but so what? External appearance could be worthless if he has a terrible personality.
After organizing our things, I undressed and put on my shorts. I'm confident with my body and shape. I have a bright future ahead, so I have all the self-esteem to wear a two-piece. My skin is smooth, and my figure was beautiful. So what?
"Kyla, can you put lotion on my back? And apply sunscreen too,” I asked Kyla.
"Girl! Your body is amazing! I've been telling you, you're the one the guys in our area are fighting over!”
"I have no plans to entertain such things,” I said.
When I looked at the boys, they had stopped what they were doing. Christian and Lance were staring straight at me. Andrew looked weird with his mouth wide open. And Logan was giving me a piercing gaze.
What's his problem? If he doesn't want to see me, then he should leave. He shouldn't even be here. We're adults, and we can take care of ourselves.
"There! You're all set! Even if you don't get tanned, you're already so fair."
"Kyla, it's not about getting a tan. It protects my skin from harmful radiation."
After that, the three of us went swimming in the cool water of the falls. It was refreshing... This place would have been beautiful if not for what happened between Logan and me.
I didn't notice that I had drifted far away from them. Suddenly, I felt a bump on my feet. I was frightened, thinking it could be something dangerous, but it turned out to be Logan who bumped into me from behind while I was floating.
"This place is huge, and yet you're here," I muttered, annoyed.
He seemed taken aback and heard what I said. Fine!
"Huh? Maybe you're too obvious that you want me that you want to be with me, that you're hitting on me."
I gave him a disgusted look.
"Excuse me? If it were up to me, I'd rather not have anything to do with you. Thanks for nothing." Did he really think he was so high and mighty that I should admire him?
"Ha? I am telling you, I don't go for someone younger than me."
I glared at him. "Oh really? Well, I don't go for someone older than me either."
This old geezer. He has the nerve.
"So your name is Krystal Miranda,” he mumbled. “I know someone who was so good at cheating on her lover.”
Huh? He's digging so deep for an insult. What does my name have to do with his anger and annoyance toward me?
Not only was he weird, but he also has a bad attitude and poor social skills. And yet, so many people seem to like him. Just for his information, he's not the only man in the world. I was about to swim far away from here when I felt something on my feet. Suddenly, I felt a cramp.
I started getting nervous and panicking. Logan was the only one close to me, just watching as I drowned in the water.
Damn it!
