The afternoon came and Bella and Elaine visited Denise at home.
"Denise open up its Bella" she knocked on the door and Denise opened it immediately.
"Did Lucian send you here to talk to me?" Denise immediately picked up on why they visited her, she wouldn't say she was actually friends with them because they had only met once in the castle.
"Who is Lucian?" Bella made a joke allowing herself in without Denise permission.
"If you are going to talk about him then I don't want to hear it" Denise said.
"You almost killed him, you almost killed everyone of us" Bella stayed with no other words to make her listen to her.
"You think I don't know that" Denise answered seating on the sofa, she couldn't forget that she had almost killed each one of them most especially Bella and Coast, she couldn't even look at Bella in the face.
Bella took out a book and read,
"The sirens are mythical creatures summoned for revenge, when summoned they take the body of a host and manifest their revenge, the host however preferable human can never escape the sirens until the work is done.
The only way to get rid of the sirens is to burn them with fire".
"That was the only solution we had but Lucian was against it, he couldn't bear to give you up, to burn you to death so that the sirens could be killed" Elaine stated making her see that Lucian was the reason why she was still breathing and not up in flames.
"But he was able to turn me into a wolf, I never asked for this" Denise stated, she had a history with wolves that she didn't want to remember or be one of them.
"Lucian never asked for you to be turned either but he had no choice.
He told us how hurt you were when you realized the things that you had done, he didn't want you to feel more regret about it.
You were hurting people Selene and he couldn't bear to watch you keep doing that" Bella persuaded her, she knew that Denise was not happy with the things she did when she was possessed by the Sirens.
She had hurt a lot of people and even caused a rift between her and Alpha Coast.
"I am telling you this Denise, no man would want to see the woman he loves being possessed by another" Elaine blurted out shocking Denise.
"He loves me" she asked startled.
Denise was new to being a wolf but she knew she could feel something towards Lucian but she couldn't quite explain it, she longed for him more than she actually did before.
"Why do you think he sticks around you, you are his mate.
Right now, Lucian looks like a total mess and I have never seen him that way, only you his mate, could do that to him" Bella added to make her see what Lucian was really going through.
"I am just so mad that he made such decision for me" she let out and Bella walked closer to her.
"Let me ask you something, if Lucian was about to die and you just found out a solution to save him would you help him?" Bella asked.
"Yes" she answered immediately and Bella smiled, there was no hiding the fact that Denise had feelings for him, with how quick she answered the question, she could tell that she was only mad at him for now but was deeply in love with him.
"If you can do that for him don't you think he would also do the same for you" Bella asked causing Denise's eyes to open realizing what she had just said.
"You were almost killed in a fit of rage but he saved you despite the fact that you had stabbed him twice, he took all your attacks and refused to harm you.
Don't you think that's enough for you to know that he cares about you" Bella added.
"I guess so" she replied.
"Please forgive him, he is sorry for not consulting you before he made the decision but it was a do or die situation you were in.
I hope you think about it and talk to Lucian but in the meantime, we still have a lot to catch up on.
The castle is always free for you to visit" Bella stated as they hugged each other before they left.
Denise thought about what Bella had said and realized that Lucian was also a victim to her and his decision was to save her yet she was overreacting about it.
Before the sirens even happened, He had been of great help to her showing her that he cared deeply for her. He may not have confessed his feelings to her but she knew that he loved her.
She sat on the sofa thinking long and hard about it, she finally decided to forgive him.
Two hours had passed and she inhaled a familiar scent she was now accustomed to, a scent that made her crave for more.
"Lucian" she echoed knowing he was standing at the door, she opened the door and before he could say anything, she slammed the door on his face.
"Denise please hear me out" Lucian pleaded with her knocking on the door.
For three days now, he has been begging her to forgive him but she wouldn't listen to him.
It wasn't up to three hours when Bella asked him to rest, he tried that but his mind was uneasy and unsettled.
He took a shower to relax himself but all he could think about was her.
"Go away" Denise said proving stubborn, if Bella could see her now she was certain she would be mad.
"You know I can't go away, please just hear me out" he pleaded moving away from the door and towards the window.
"Denise please listen to me, you know I will never do anything to hurt you and I am aware that what I did was wrong but what else could I do.
It was the only way to save you, the only way to bring you back again, I wasn't going to seat back and watch you harm yourself and others" he reworded.
Lucian was at total loss when she was possessed, he blamed himself for what had happened to her and wished he hadn't taken her to the castle.
But after making such a mistake that caused her life, he then made a decision that she would never had made, turning her into a wolf.
"I know this is all my fault and I am deeply sorry for turning you but please don't stay mad at him.
Don't shut yourself away from me" he pleaded with her hoping she could hear him and listen to his beating heart, he yearned so much for her than she could ever imagine.
"Why not" Denise asked back, her heart was beating faster as she spoke and she knew he had that effect on her. She wanted to open the door and run into his arms but she restrained herself from doing that.
"Because I love you" he blurted out.
Her heart skipped a bit and she could feel butterflies in her stomach just from those words, who knew that those words alone could make her legs go numb as she held the table for support to get back up again.
"I know you may not believe me but I have had series of dreams about you before I even met you" he stated leaving out the part that she was also killed by her uncle.
Denise was silent listening to him as he continued,
"And then when I saw you, I knew you were the one for me, I had wanted to confess my feelings for you earlier but I was scared that you might reject me and not feel the same.
Tell me Denise, would a man who loves you this much do anything to hurt you?" He asked but she was still silent.
"I am sorry Denise for the decision I made, if I have to apologize to you everyday of my life I will, if you want me to kneel and beg for forgiveness I will but please don't be harsh on me.
I don't deserve it" he stated.
There was total silence in the house, Denise did not utter a single word, Lucian felt hurt by not hearing her response, he turned back to leave and the clouds opened pouring down rain on him.
He stared at the door one more time hoping she would come to him but she didn't. He made heavy steps walking away when the door suddenly opened.
He turned back and saw her running towards him, she jumped on him and he immediately caught her.
"I forgive you" she said crying her heart out.
He felt so touched that he kissed her deeply,
"You don't know how happy you have made me" he stared turning her around in the rain, his heart was finally calm and the sadness he once felt was completely gone.
He wiped her tears smiling at her,
"I am so glad you have forgiven me" he blurted out.
Is it too late to say I love you too" she uttered and he stared at her in shock.
Was he dreaming?, did she really confessed to loving him too.
"Actually I fell in love with you the first moment I saw you but I tried to act up, the moments we spend together were the best moments of my life.
I wanted to tell you about it but i didn't know if you felt the same so I was quiet about it.
I love you Lucian, I have always loved you" she whispered to him.
Lucian couldn't keep hold back his smile, it all felt like a dream to him, not only had she forgiven him but she had also confessed her feeling to him. He felt like he was on cloud nine and could do anything at the moment.
He kissed her once again more passionately this time, he wanted to express his love for her in a single kiss, his arms went around her waist drawing her closer to him. His tongue pried into her mouth as he enjoyed the taste of her.
He picked her up from the rain and into the house, they eagerly took off their clothes until they were naked before each other, the heat between them was enough to keep them going as she laid on the couch watching him make advances on her body.
